The Rogue Villager Chen Erbao

Chapter 66: Chen Qing Is Here Again?

What's wet with dew isn't always a patch of grass—it could be a whole forest!

Chen Erbao never would have thought that in his first meeting with this impossibly beautiful woman, she would end up right in his face—literally.

As if possessed, Chen Erbao actually leaned forward, pressing his whole face against it.

"Mmph…"

The intense sensation made the woman's face flush crimson, and her body went rigid. The next second, however, her eyes filled with murderous intent as she kicked out at Chen Erbao's head.

Chen Erbao had anticipated this. With a leap, he flipped on top of the woman, using his hands and feet to pin her limbs and press her firmly beneath him.

Her full, firm chest was flattened like pancakes, and her face flushed with a mixture of shame and anger.

"Get off me!"

The woman bit out each word.

Chen Erbao looked at the gorgeous face just inches away and shook his head without a second thought.

"Swear you won't hit me, and I'll get up."

"…"

The woman was about to go crazy with anger. She struggled a few times but found she couldn't move at all, a sense of frustration and rage welling up inside her.

She took a deep breath, her magnificent chest heaving noticeably.

"Get out now!"

Seeing that the woman seemed genuinely angry, Chen Erbao finally let go of her hands, scrambled to his feet, turned, and ran.

'If I don't run now, she'll probably beat me to death!'

As he fled the yard, Chen Erbao could still hear her roar from behind him:

"You just wait!"

"Tch!"

Chen Erbao snorted dismissively and broke into a jog, heading for his clinic.

He still had no idea who that woman was, but with money in his pocket now, he felt a lot more confident. 'It's not like I did it on purpose,' he thought. 'Whatever happens, happens.'

When he got to the clinic, he sorted through the consultation requests from the past couple of days, preparing to find a time to make some house calls.

Usually, the people of Bailong Village only called him directly for serious illnesses. For minor ailments, they'd come to the clinic. If he wasn't there, they'd leave a message for him to make a house call when he was free.

Besides, Bailong Village wasn't that big, so making a trip in person wasn't much of a hardship.

Among the consultation requests was a note from Sister in law Shuzhen, saying she had some discomfort in her chest and asking him to come over and take a look.

Chen Erbao thought of Sister in law Shuzhen's pale, tender… and almost got a boner.

He planned to go see her that night. After all, their relationship was already quite intimate—they'd reached that stage. There was nothing to be shy about.

Just as he was planning whose house to visit first, a commotion erupted outside.

"Where's Er Bao? Is Er Bao in?"

Chen Erbao stood up, pushed open the clinic door, and saw a middle-aged auntie hurrying toward him.

"Aunt Song, what's the rush?"

Seeing Chen Erbao, Aunt Song quickly shouted:

"Er Bao, get home quick! Liu Xiufen and Chen Qing are back at your house causing trouble with a big group of people!"

"What?"

Chen Erbao's expression changed. Forgetting about chatting with Aunt Song, he shot off toward home, moving so fast he was gone in the blink of an eye.

...

'Damn it, Chen Qing is really asking for it!'

Worried for the safety of his sister-in-law and Chen Dabao, Chen Erbao sprinted the entire way, reaching his front door in less than ten minutes.

From a distance, he could see a huge, unruly crowd blocking the entrance to his house.

"Chen Qing, what the fuck do you think you're doing?!"

He yelled from afar, instantly drawing everyone's attention.

Leading the pack was that shrew, Liu Xiufen. Chen Qing sat pale-faced in a wheelchair, his eyes filled with hatred the moment he saw Chen Erbao.

"Well, well, Chen Erbao. You actually dare to come back! You broke my son's leg, and I'm going to send you to prison!"

Liu Xiufen, aggressive as ever, walked right up to block Chen Erbao's path and started screaming at him.

Chen Erbao glanced at the dozen or so people she'd brought, then at the surrounding villagers who were watching. He sneered and said to her:

"If you're sick, go to the village clinic. I'll prescribe you some medicine. Stop acting crazy here!"

Liu Xiufen glared at him, her voice screeching:

"You still dare to deny it? Tell me, what were you doing the night before last?"

'Of course I'm not going to admit it. That night, Chen Qing didn't even get a clear look at my shadow, how could he possibly recognize me?'

He chuckled coldly.

"Do I have to report my every move to you? I heard your son's leg was broken. My only regret is that the kind soul who served justice didn't beat him to death. For years, Chen Qing has been a menace to man and beast in this village, offending plenty of people. He's always loitering around Cyan Mountain Town, who knows what he gets up to… And you have the nerve to come asking me?"

His words left Liu Xiufen so angry she was speechless. Chen Qing had wanted to speak up, but after meeting Chen Erbao's gaze, he was inexplicably reminded of the shadowy figure who had broken his leg with a single strike that night. He was too scared to say a word.

When the surrounding villagers heard Chen Erbao, they immediately started voicing their support:

"Er Bao is right! What does Chen Qing getting his leg broken have to do with Er Bao? What proof do you have?"

"Stop acting crazy here! Do you think we fellow villagers are just decorations?"

"Chen Qing is a good-for-nothing layabout. Just the other day, I saw him in Cyan Mountain Town hanging out with a few thugs. Who knows what shady things he's done behind our backs? Getting his leg broken was bound to happen sooner or later…"

The villagers grew more and more agitated as they spoke, gathering closer to back Chen Erbao up.

Seeing that she had provoked public outrage, Liu Xiufen was momentarily intimidated. Panic showed on her middle-aged face, and she could only point at Chen Erbao, speechless for a long moment.

Chen Erbao wasn't surprised to see everyone supporting him.

For one, his reputation in the village was far better than Chen Qing's family. For another…

'The few aunties who saw me drive back must have spread the news everywhere by now. They probably exaggerated it, making all the villagers think I've struck it rich. Now that they have a chance to latch onto a benefactor, of course they wouldn't refuse.'

'Can't they see my shiny BMW parked right over there? The clean hood is gleaming in the sun. Who could ignore that?'

Hearing Chen Erbao's voice, Fang Yun and Chen Dabao finally dared to open the courtyard gate and run out.

"Er Bao… they're here to cause trouble again!"

Fang Yun ran to Chen Erbao's side and looked him up and down. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw he wasn't hurt, but her voice was still laced with anxiety.

She and Chen Dabao knew the whole story. If Chen Erbao hadn't done it, they certainly wouldn't have been so timid. But the fact was… Chen Erbao really was the one who broke the leg!

This was assault causing disability—a crime!

No matter how mentally strong the two of them were, they couldn't help but be nervous.

Chen Erbao patted the back of Fang Yun's hand reassuringly.

"Sister-in-law, don't worry. I'll admit to the things I've done. But for things I haven't done, no one is going to sling mud at me!"

He spoke with such righteous conviction that if Fang Yun didn't know the truth, she almost would have believed him.

'After all, she was the one who had personally burned the bloody wooden club.'
