[Imperial Palace—Emperor’s Chamber—Later]

BOOM!!! SPARKLE!!!

The firecrackers colored the sky of Qashmar with different colors in happiness of their new emperor.

The palace did not sleep; the nobles started returning, and the Imperial Palace, which was shut for a year, again brightened with the life of the new emperor.

And within the Emperor’s chamber, Lytharion and Kael lay upon the bed, bodies close, skin bare where clothes had been pushed aside. The mate mark rested against Kale’s chest, catching the faint lamplight with every unsteady breath.

He could not look at Lytharion, as his cheeks were pink with shame. Meanwhile, Lytharion’s eyes followed every curve of Kael’s body as if studying every part of him with his bare eyes.

"I will proceed slowly, but understand this, my queen: this won’t be gentle. The pain will be... immense," he said, his voice low and deliberate, his eyes fixed on him. "Are you ready to bear whatever comes next?"

Kael met his gaze as he spoke quietly. "I am...I am willing to bear life for you. This is my duty and a promise."

For a moment, Lytharion said nothing, and then he exhaled sharply, frustration crossing his features like a restrained storm as he muttered. "That’s right, you want to be free from me, and I have no choice but to honor that resolve."

Kael’s hands twitched, and then he avoided his eyes; his expression was calm, but somehow his heart was clenching hard, and then Lytharion said, "I shall begin; take your original form."

Lytharion took his enormous black wolf form, and Kael took his red wolf form, and then the air changed.

It did not strike calmly; it pressed, and a wave of pheromone unfurled from Lytharion, controlled, measured, but unmistakably powerful. The pheromones of soft sandalwood, settling into the room like unseen hands.

Kael gasped, eyes widening with sharp pain.

"This....AAAAGHHHH!!!!!"

His voice broke as his body reacted instantly, nerves flaring, heat blooming deep within him. His limbs trembled as Lytharion caught him at once, pulling him into his chest.

"This is the minimum required. I have released very little, my queen; you have to bear it to form a womb inside you."

Kael huffed a weak breath, forehead dropping against Lytharion’s shoulder, and a sharp sensation twisted low in his abdomen.

"Hngh—"

Kael’s breath hitched, his hand flying to his stomach as something shifted inside him...not tearing, not breaking, but rearranging. As if his body were being rewritten without his permission, without his control, he took his human form and groaned beneath the enormous black wolf mate.

"It hurts," he whispered, tears spilling despite himself. "Please stop it; it hurts...it really hurts...I don’t want to bear the child, please..."

Lytharion tightened his hold immediately; he licked his side of the neck with his voice steady but strained.

"I know, my queen, your body is resisting change. Bear this if you want to be free from me."

Kael glanced at him with teary eyes as he released his pheromones more.

His spine arched reflexively as pain bloomed and faded in heavy pulses, like stone being hollowed by unrelenting water. A broken sound slipped from his throat as sweat streaked down his temples and tears blurred his vision.

Lytharion could not do anything; he could only watch his queen groaning in pain, his large wolf palms warm and sure, thumbs sweeping gently beneath his eyes, wiping the tears as they fell.

"Just a bear more..."

Kael’s vision wavered, but he forced his eyes open as Lytharion’s golden gaze held him steady, unyielding, a fixed point in the storm tearing through his body.

"Do you want me to carry part of it with you, my queen?"

Kael groaned in pain; the tears fell freely from his eyes, and he clenched his shoulder, saying, "Please...I cannot endure this...please...."

"As my queen commands."

Lytharion wiped his tears, and then he kissed him. It was a firm press of lips, warm and deliberate, meant to anchor rather than take. Lytharion lingered there, breathing Kael in, letting his presence sink through him like heat into cold stone.

Kael shuddered; the pain did not vanish, but it shifted. Its edge dulled, pulled sideways, as Lytharion deepened the contact just enough to draw Kael’s focus away from his body and into the steady rhythm of breath and closeness and whispers.

"Follow my breath, my queen. I am here; hold me all you want. You can even bite me."

Kael slumped against his chest, burying his face against his chest and then... Lytharion took his human form and held Kael closer; their naked bodies touched each other, and Lytharion kissed him again...softly this time, a reassuring touch, lips moving just enough to calm Kael a little.

Kael clutched at Lytharion’s chest, fingers trembling. The pain spiked...deep, disorienting...pulling a broken sound from his throat, his whole body burned with pain and heat.

"What...if I die...?"

"Calm down, you will not die, my queen; this is just a process for womb formation. Bearing a child is against your nature; you have to go through this pain to bear my child."

Kael’s instincts drove him closer, seeking warmth, seeking anchorage. He rubbed his face against Lytharion’s shoulder, mumbling, "Please...hold me...do not let me go..."

Lytharion pulled him closer; he leaned over him and kissed Kael’s lips once more...firmer now, not demanding but commanding attention. His presence wrapped around Kael like a shield, steady and unyielding.

"I will never let you go, my queen." Lytharion murmured against his lips. "Not until you tell me so."

Kael glanced at him with teary eyes and pain in his body as Lytharion guided Kael back onto the bed with deliberate care, never breaking contact. His hands moved slowly and reassuringly as he pressed Kael into the silks, kissing his shoulder and collarbone...places meant to soothe rather than overwhelm.

Kael trembled beneath him, his breath ragged as Lytharion sucked Kael’s neck, one hand firm at his side, the other steadying him as another tremor passed.

"Hold on to me," Lytharion instructed softly. "Not the pain; you can scratch me, my queen. Do not close your fist and do not hold your pain."

Kael did; he clung to Lytharion, burying his face against his chest as the dark deity held him there strong, unmoving, a constant presence while Kael’s body struggled through the change.

Meanwhile, Lytharion’s hand rolled over his nipples, rubbing and making him writhe in his arms. Kael’s body burned, sobbing as the pleasure and pain both surged through his veins like thunder.

Lytharion kissed his eyes with tenderness, and he pressed his fingers around his butthole and slid inside him, saying, "I am putting it in."

"Aghhh..."

Kael broke his voice in moans as Lytharion’s fingers rubbed, circled, and stretched him inside as his pheromone enveloped him and transformed his entire body.

Kael’s pain did not vanish, but now it no longer felt endless, and somehow now Kael believed he might endure it, not because he was strong enough alone, but because Lytharion refused to let him fall apart.

Then Lytharion grabbed his cock and began rubbing it to relieve the pain and pleasure.

"Hngh...haa...haa...Ahhh...aahhh..."

Kael moaned as Lytharion rubbed his cock with his large hands. Tears slipped from his eyes, his face flushed with both pain and pleasure.

Lytharion continued to rub his cock and then... SPLURT!!!!

He released his white sperm and slumped onto the bed, wet, exhausted, and trembling from the womb formation. Every muscle felt heavy, as if he had been hollowed and then meticulously put back together.

Lytharion moved immediately. He held Kael in his arms as he was still crying and said, "It’s done for the night, my queen. Go to sleep."

Kael’s tears refused to stop, as this was the first time he had felt this type of pain, asking, "Do I have to go through this pain until womb formation?"

Lytharion’s gaze met his and said, "If you still want to bear my child, then yes. You have to..."

Kael was still trembling. Lytharion pulled him closer in his arms, saying, "Being a mother is not easy, my queen. Every mother has to go through this immense pain; this is the cruelest and most beautiful part every mother in this universe bears, even you."

Kael slumped closer, and Lytharion released his pheromones to calm him. "You should sleep; I will clean you up."

Kael glanced once at Lytharion and then nestled closer to him, muttering, "Thank you."

And just like that, slowly Kael closed his eyes as his body recognized safety before his mind could catch up. His breathing slowed, settling into a gentle rhythm matched by the rise and fall of his mate.

Kael’s fingers twitched once and then relaxed. Exhaustion pulled him into sleep, and through the long, painful night, Lytharion took care of his queen.
