Countless black vines surged toward the group. The thick tendrils were as tough as leather whips and covered in barbs as hard as nails.

Every lash was filled with a murderous, bloodthirsty intent, putting everyone on high alert. They immediately prepared for battle.

Shen Yuzhao’s Abnormal Fire would have been the best weapon against these Magic Plants and their powerful auras, but unfortunately, he couldn’t use it at the moment.

Fortunately, Luo Linlang could now use her Phoenix Fire, a flame that was in no way inferior to the Abnormal Fire—in fact, it was even stronger.

But this was her first time wielding it, and she was still a bit unsure of how to control its power.

She had only meant to beat back the vine in front of her, but she used too much force, and the flames instantly incinerated an entire section!

This was a good thing, of course. She was pleasantly surprised herself. Her spirits lifted, and she put her hands on her hips. "Everyone, stand back! Let me handle this!"

Seeing the incredible effectiveness of the Phoenix Fire, Lu Sangjiu and the others didn’t try to force the issue. They immediately fell back behind Luo Linlang.

Luo Linlang then burned a path forward, and in no time, the group had escaped the sea of Magic Plants.

However, this consumed most of Luo Linlang’s Spiritual Energy. She was now so tired she was panting just from walking.

The Magic Plants had gradually thinned out along the way, and by the time they reached this spot, there were almost none to be seen.

At the same time, however, the deathly aura here was much denser, seeming to overwhelm even the ordinary Demonic Qi.

The area seemed even quieter than before, but it was an unsettling silence that put everyone on edge.

The others had never been to the Forbidden Land, so their unease came from the unknown.

But Lu Sangjiu had. She knew all too well that the deeper one ventured into the Forbidden Land, the more dangerous it became. Calm like this was impossible.

Her eyes scanned the surroundings cautiously as she spoke. "When the Forbidden Land was formed, many Magic Beasts were trapped inside it."

"Over the long years, they have all mutated, becoming far more powerful entities."

"The fact that it’s so quiet here likely means this is the territory of a powerful entity. That would explain why no lesser beasts dare to linger. Everyone, be careful."

’At first, Lu Sangjiu had always been hesitant to reveal such things, but now, she no longer bothered to hide it.’

’So what if I’m exposed? This place is too dangerous. If I don’t warn them in advance, they could easily fall into peril.’

’Besides... everyone must have found her extensive knowledge of the Forbidden Land strange by now, yet no one had ever questioned her.’

’It was a sort of tacit understanding. It didn’t matter if her identity caused a rift between them later. For now, they were united, and that was enough.’

Just as she’d thought, after hearing her words, no one asked how she knew all this. They simply became more vigilant, scanning their surroundings.

Lu Sangjiu moved to the front once more, taking over for the exhausted Luo Linlang to lead the way.

The group walked on in silence for some time, but their vigilance never wavered.

Finally, after walking for a little over half an hour, they suddenly heard the low growl of a beast!

It sounded massive. The deep, powerful growl carried a menacing weight that seemed to pierce their eardrums.

The next moment, a massive black figure burst forth from the distance, moving at incredible speed as it charged straight for them!

Lu Sangjiu’s expression hardened. Demonic Qi instantly billowed from her body as she gripped the Domination Map and charged to meet the creature head-on!

Now that she could use her Demonic Qi freely, combined with the Domination Map, Lu Sangjiu could consistently fight at a level comparable to the Nascent Soul Stage without even needing her ultimate techniques.

Luo Linlang’s stamina had mostly recovered. Not wanting her First Senior Brother to have to fight, she rushed forward to help as well.

"First Senior Brother, just focus on protecting Master! Third Junior Brother will help!"

Although Shen Yuzhao’s combat power was greatly diminished without his Abnormal Fire, he was still uninjured. Even just providing support from the sidelines was better than letting First Senior Brother and Master get involved.

Li Qiancheng and Duan Xingyun knew what the younger disciples were thinking. Seeing that the mutated Magic Beast, though fierce, was not something the three of them couldn’t handle, they allowed them to proceed.

And so, with the three of them working in concert, the Magic Beast soon sustained heavy injuries.

Just as they were about to finish it off, the creature let out a furious roar. Moments later, the figure of an even larger Magic Beast appeared!

No, not one. Two!

They had assumed from its massive size that it was a fully grown Magic Beast.

But upon seeing the two newcomers, they instantly realized something was wrong.

This was clearly just a damn baby!

It couldn’t beat them, so it called its parents for backup!

Fighting the baby had been relatively easy, but now with two adults suddenly on the scene, the situation became critical.

Lu Sangjiu gritted her teeth. "Let’s end this quick! Finish the small one first!"

Lu Sangjiu decided to eliminate the young one before its parents had a chance to join the fray.

As she spoke, she seamlessly switched to Spiritual Power and unleashed Starry Sky on the young beast.

Luo Linlang also put everything she had into it, unleashing a Magic she had learned from her awakened Phoenix Bloodline. "Phoenix Fire Burning World!"

’She had only used the Phoenix Fire in a simple way before. Trying out a newly learned Magic like this, she was actually a little nervous.’

But thankfully, the result was even better than she had imagined!

In the next instant, Lu Sangjiu’s Starry Sky and Luo Linlang’s Phoenix Fire Burning World struck the young Magic Beast simultaneously.

A world-shaking burst of energy erupted, and the young Magic Beast let out a pained shriek!

Amidst the fiery blaze, they could clearly feel the young Magic Beast’s life force fading... It worked!

But watching their child die right before their eyes had obviously pushed the two adult Magic Beasts into a complete rage.

Lu Sangjiu and Luo Linlang didn’t even have time to switch to a defensive stance before the two beasts were upon them.

Fortunately, the others were ready. Duan Xingyun and Li Qiancheng moved to intercept, while Shen Yuzhao swiftly pulled Lu Sangjiu and Luo Linlang out of harm’s way, preventing them from being caught off guard by the fallout.

That single moment of respite was all the two needed. They quickly rallied and rejoined the battle.

After a desperate struggle, as night fell completely, the two adult Magic Beasts were finally defeated.

By then, all five of them were practically out of energy, and every one of them was nursing injuries of some kind.

Though they were in a sorry state, a battle like this was undoubtedly a form of tempering for them all.

With the exception of the already battle-hardened Lu Sangjiu, everyone else’s combat abilities were improving by leaps and bounds under the high-pressure fight.

This wasn’t a simple increase in their cultivation level; rather, it was a sharpening of their combat techniques, mentality, and more.

While it didn’t directly increase their cultivation, the experience was hugely beneficial. It would make their future training that much smoother.

One could say that while this ordeal was a disaster, if they managed to make it out alive, it would surely be a turning point in their transformation.
