The Strongest Talent Tree

Chapter 222 - 219: Thir... Young Master

Chapter 222: Chapter 219: Thir... Young Master

The greatest feature of Moon Thorn was its stealth. Because it didn’t use any Force, the projected blade was incredibly fine. Amplified by the Swiftness Demon Pattern, its trajectory was blindingly fast, making it nearly impossible to defend against without sufficient Divine Sense.

Moon Thorn was originally a close-range Secret Technique, but the integration of the Dark Moon Soul had drastically increased its attack range.

In short, Moon Thorn was Feng Hao’s strongest burst damage skill. Combined with his dual hidden-power talent, no Mage of the same rank could possibly withstand it.

PFFT!

Xue Shaojie tried to dodge, but it was too late. The terrifying hidden power damage pierced through his armor, shredding his Qi Blood to nothing in an instant.

"This is impossible..." Xue Shaojie was dumbfounded. A wave of dizziness washed over him, and he soon collapsed to the ground.

But Feng Hao had no intention of letting him go. He used Shadow Strike to close the distance again, sent Xue Shaojie flying upward with a knee strike, then spun around and kicked him right out of the restaurant.

The entire crowd was stunned. No one had expected this outcome.

Even Wang Tongqian was stunned for a moment, forgetting to eat his dessert. ’Damn, what technique! What damage! It’d be a crime if he weren’t a thief!’

Lu Linfei and the venom-tongued girl were also stunned. Lu Linfei recovered more quickly, as Wang Tongqian’s appearance had already been a huge shock to him.

The venom-tongued girl, however, was scared stiff. She recalled calling Feng Hao a country bumpkin earlier, and a wave of fear washed over her.

"Lin Fei, he’s not going to come after me, is he?" the venom-tongued girl asked, trembling.

Lu Linfei snapped out of it, his expression stiff. "I don’t think so. This Brother Zei doesn’t seem like the petty type."

"Oh, good. That’s good," the venom-tongued girl said, patting her chest and sighing in relief.

Meanwhile, after kicking Xue Shaojie away, Feng Hao immediately turned his attention to the arrogant girl. He leaped forward and mercilessly unleashed Dark Moon Slaughter.

The arrogant girl was still reeling from shock when she saw a crescent of energy hurtling toward her. She couldn’t help but scream, "AHHH—! What do you think you’re doing? My father is the City Lord!"

"Huh?" Feng Hao paused, subconsciously withdrawing Dark Moon Slaughter. He wore a strange expression. "You’re the daughter of the Snow Cloud City Lord?"

Seeing Feng Hao hesitate, the arrogant girl’s confidence instantly returned. She lifted her chin high and said smugly, "What, scared now? If you’re scared, you’d better apologize to me right now. Otherwise, you’ll be sorry!"

’Damn, she’s really pushing it, isn’t she?’ Feng Hao’s temper flared. He was about to strike but suddenly hesitated.

Honestly, if he were alone, he wouldn’t be afraid of some City Lord. But with Wang Tongqian behind him, acting rashly could bring trouble to the Thief God Hall.

He frowned and glanced back, only to see Wang Tongqian watching him with a faint smile. Wang Tongqian then gave him an encouraging nod.

With Wang Tongqian’s tacit approval, Feng Hao held back no longer. His Su Mu Dagger flashed, instantly unleashing Dark Moon Slaughter followed by Moon Wheel Dance.

The arrogant girl collapsed to the ground before she could even scream.

Then, to the arrogant girl’s horror, Feng Hao’s knee loomed larger and larger before crashing into her face.

BANG!

With a pained cry, the arrogant girl was sent flying backward, landing squarely on top of Xue Shaojie.

The poor guy had just been recovering when the impact of her body knocked him out cold again.

Gasps echoed through the restaurant. All eyes were fixed on Feng Hao as everyone secretly wondered about his background.

"And they call themselves geniuses with this level of skill?" Feng Hao scoffed. He walked back to his table and sat down, then looked up with a grin. "Brother San, how did I do? I didn’t embarrass our Thief God Hall, did I?"

Wang Tongqian gave him a meaningful smile, his eyes full of approval. "Good. Very good!"

"Say, the opponents in the preliminaries aren’t all going to be at this level, are they?" Feng Hao asked with a peculiar expression.

"Of course not," Wang Tongqian said with a thin smile. "Our Thief God Hall’s young thieves are all forged in the crucible of real combat. They’re not comparable to those academy rookies."

"That’s true," Feng Hao said with a wry laugh.

It was just as Wang Tongqian said. The Thief God Hall was a haven for unorthodox Mages, self-sufficient in its recruitment. Unlike other sects that selected disciples from academies, they might lag a bit in terms of scholarly knowledge or technical theory. But when it came to practical combat ability, they were leagues ahead of the others.

Speaking of which, Feng Hao was a rather fortunate thief. Thanks to his Alchemy Techniques and the Wind Clothing Store, he had barely participated in any of this "forging."

For his fellow thieves, however, advancing from a junior to a senior rank was no easy feat. It required completing hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs to earn enough points—and that was without even considering daily point expenditures.

In short, for most members of the Thief God Hall, the path to becoming a senior thief was a long and arduous journey.

As Feng Hao was lost in thought, Lu Linfei approached, pulling the venom-tongued girl along with him. With a respectful gaze, he asked, "May I ask what business brings you two to Snow Cloud City? If you’d like, you are welcome to stay at my home."

"No need. We’re just stopping for a short rest. We leave tomorrow," Wang Tongqian declined with a faint smile.

Lu Linfei hesitated a moment before asking cautiously, "This Brother Zei must be on his way to the thief preliminaries, right?"

"That’s right," Feng Hao confirmed without hesitation.

"What a coincidence! I’m also entering the competition. I was planning to set out in two days, but since we’ve met, please, allow me to host you for the night. We could travel together tomorrow. What do you say?" Lu Linfei asked, his eyes full of anticipation.

Feng Hao and Wang Tongqian exchanged a look. It was an offer too kind to refuse. "In that case, we’ll be imposing on you, Brother Zei."

"It’s no trouble at all! We’re all in the same line of work," Lu Linfei said, overjoyed. "Please, follow me."

Feng Hao and Wang Tongqian didn’t stand on ceremony. After quickly settling the bill, they left the Ice and Snow Restaurant, talking and laughing.

They had just stepped outside when they felt a terrifying aura approaching. A moment later, a burly, middle-aged man descended from the sky, his angry gaze sweeping over the crowd as he roared, "Who bullied Cheng Yue Long’s daughter?!"

Seeing her father arrive, the arrogant girl pointed at Feng Hao and started wailing. "Dad, it was him! Kill him for me!"

Cheng Yue Long’s expression darkened. His fierce eyes glared at Feng Hao. "Boy, how do you want to die?"

"Jumping to conclusions without even asking what happened? And you call yourself a City Lord," Feng Hao said scornfully.

"It’s not your place to lecture me," Cheng Yue Long snorted, unleashing a crushing aura that instantly bore down on Feng Hao.

Just then, Wang Tongqian, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up. "And do you think I’m qualified?"

Cheng Yue Long froze, instinctively turning his head. The moment he saw Wang Tongqian, his surging aura vanished completely. His expression turned rigid. "Third... Young Master, what brings you to my humble little city?"

"Just passing through. I didn’t expect my good mood to be ruined by that spoiled brat of a daughter you have," Wang Tongqian sneered, his lips curling in disdain.

Cheng Yue Long scrambled to offer a placating smile. "Uh, my daughter has indeed been spoiled rotten by me. I beg for your forbearance, Young Master. Rest assured, I will discipline her strictly from now on."

"Hmph." Wang Tongqian snorted, then turned to Feng Hao and the others. "Let’s go."
