The Supreme Village Doctor

Chapter 125 - 126: Acquiring Ducks

Chapter 125: Chapter 126: Acquiring Ducks

The giant snake seemed to understand Li Yang. It slid back a short distance and slithered away.

Uncle Gui Fa stared, dumbfounded.

’This is fucking unbelievable. How could something like this even happen? I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own two eyes.’

But it had happened right before his eyes, so he had no choice but to believe.

Li Yang smiled. When he looked back at the twining snake, he saw it hadn’t moved an inch. It seemed frozen in fear.

He was just about to step forward and grab it when the giant snake reared up again. It made a few spitting sounds, and three twining snakes suddenly dropped to the ground, landing right in front of Li Yang.

The giant snake nodded at Li Yang, then immediately slithered away.

"That snake must be a spirit!" Uncle Gui Fa shuddered.

Li Yang suddenly felt like laughing. He gathered all the snakes and put them in his bag.

’What a harvest today. Four twining snakes in total. I’ve got the ingredients for the medicinal wine now.’

"Uncle Gui Fa..." Li Yang said as they were leaving. "You saw that giant snake. Don’t come back here again."

Uncle Gui Fa nodded nonstop, but couldn’t contain his curiosity. "Xiaoli, what in the world was all that? Why did that giant snake listen to you? It’s unbelievable!"

Li Yang let out a laugh and said smugly, "Maybe it’s because I’m just that handsome."

Of course, Uncle Gui Fa didn’t believe him. ’He must have some kind of Secret Technique.’

’I never would have guessed. To think that Xiaoli had this kind of skill.’

By the time the two of them returned to the village, it was already noon.

When Aunt Gui Fa saw them return, she breathed a sigh of relief. Lunch was already on the table.

"It smells delicious!" Li Yang didn’t hold back. He picked up a piece of duck meat with his chopsticks and said with a smile, "This is amazing!"

"If you like it, take a few ducks home with you," Aunt Gui Fa said quickly. "You’ve been a huge help to our family this time. Please, take it as our way of thanking you."

"Aunt Gui Fa, there’s no need. What I did was nothing," Li Yang refused with a smile.

"Don’t worry about it. We have over a hundred ducks anyway," Aunt Gui Fa said. "We can’t get a good price for them, so you might as well take some to eat. A little something fresh."

Li Yang paused. "Auntie, you’re raising that many ducks?"

"That’s right. We have a pond over there by the mountain, so it’s a great place to raise ducks," Uncle Gui Fa said regretfully. "It’s a shame, though. We can’t get a decent price for them, so it feels like we’re raising them for nothing."

"Uncle, Auntie, how about I buy your ducks from you?" In fact, Li Yang had been thinking about how to get into the duck-raising business for the past few days. His initial idea was to find someone in his own village, but he had dismissed it after further thought.

His own village was preparing to develop a tourism industry, and raising ducks would create significant environmental problems. The trouble would outweigh the benefits.

Even with the chickens, Li Yang was already thinking he’d have to organize things better down the line. Otherwise, the ground would be covered in chicken shit. How were they supposed to develop a tourism industry with that?

’Who would have thought? Taomu Village is the perfect place to raise them.’

"Huh?" Gui Fa and his wife were both stunned.

"Here’s the deal..." Li Yang said with a grin. "I have a partnership with a big hotel in the city. I supply them with goods, but my own supply chain is a little unstable. If you have a lot of ducks, I can buy them from you to sell to the hotel. I’ll pay you whatever the going market rate is. How does that sound?"

"You can really sell them?" Of course, Uncle Gui Fa wanted to sell his ducks, and his voice was already tinged with excitement.

"Of course," Li Yang said with a smile. "A hundred might not even be enough!"

"Oh, that’s easy then! A lot of the other villagers raise them too," Uncle Gui Fa said urgently. "If you need more, I can get them to sell their ducks to me."

"That’s perfect!" Li Yang slapped the table. "Uncle, go ahead and buy from them. Have them sell all the ducks they can to you, and I’ll buy the whole lot from you. I’ll make sure you don’t lose any money on the deal. Oh, right. After you’ve collected them, I’ll need to give you some special feed. You’ll have to feed them only that for at least a week before we can sell them."

"Special feed? Why?"

"You don’t need to worry about that. I’ll provide the feed. Just do as I say when the time comes."

"Alright then!" Uncle Gui Fa was in high spirits now.

"Oh, and Uncle, you can start raising even more ducks. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely need a large supply for the market. You can focus on duck farming full-time from now on."

"Wonderful, wonderful! We’ll do just that!" Both Uncle Gui Fa and his wife laughed with delight.

After lunch, Li Yang left their place, put the four twining snakes in the cargo bed of his truck, and drove straight home.

Back home, he first prepared the medicinal wine. Once the four bottles were steeping, Li Yang finally had a moment to himself.

He had barely sat down when a car pulled up in front of his small clinic.

Zhao Xuechu stepped out.

"What are you doing here?" Li Yang asked in surprise.

"I came to thank you," Zhao Xuechu said to Li Yang. "If it weren’t for you, Zhenzhen would have been in real trouble."

Li Yang shook his head. "Don’t worry about it. She just got lucky, that’s all."
