The table was laden with dishes, a truly appetizing sight.

"This is your reward!" Ye Xiu said, a hint of exasperation in her voice as she watched Li Yang’s eyes darting around. "The construction company started delivering materials to the elementary school today. Everyone knows that construction will begin as soon as summer vacation starts. The whole school is grateful to you, so I said I’d make you a nice meal to show our appreciation."

"Aunt Xiu, you shouldn’t have..." Li Yang was pleased, but he shook his head. "What’s all this formality between us? There’s no need to be so polite. If you really want to thank me, you could just make good on your promise..."

Li Yang decided to just shut up. ’Fine, you’re right. Happy now?’

When Li Yang fell silent, Aunt Xiu quieted down as well.

After they finished eating, Aunt Xiu went to wash the dishes.

An hour had passed by the time she was finished.

But this time, he had truly angered her. Aunt Xiu chased right after him.

Once they were outside, Aunt Xiu stood with her hands on her hips, pointing at him. "You brat! How dare you get fresh with me!"
