Chapter 193: Chapter 194: Shopping
After Li Yang left, he received a call from Zhang Rong.
"You little brat, where are you?" Aunt Rong asked, sounding annoyed.
Li Yang chuckled. "Aunt Rong, we just saw each other. Are you missing me already?"
"You’re never serious..." Aunt Rong scoffed. "Here’s the deal: Hua Lvlan gave me a list of things to buy. She wants me to go with you to order them and have them delivered to your village first. She’ll contact someone who knows how to do the construction and have them find time to come build it for you."
"Great!" Li Yang was overjoyed. ’I can’t believe it’s all happening so fast! It’s only been a day and everything’s already decided.’
He picked up Aunt Rong and glanced at the list in her hand.
He realized the list of things to buy was quite long.
"Take a good look," Aunt Rong said. "She told me this is going to cost a lot of money."
Although his heart ached at the thought, Li Yang still smiled. "It’s fine, it’s fine. You can’t make money without investing in the business."
Aunt Rong just chuckled dryly. ’As if I can’t see how much that stings, you little brat.’
"Are you short on money?" Aunt Rong asked.
Li Yang froze for a moment, then shook his head. "I have enough."
"If you don’t have enough, you can borrow from me," Zhang Rong said seriously.
She knew Li Yang had already sunk a lot of money into his village. Even though it seemed like he had a lot of ventures going now, he had also invested a lot, so he couldn’t possibly have much cash left.
"It’s fine..." Li Yang shook his head. "I have more than enough."
"Don’t be so stubborn!" Zhang Rong rolled her eyes at him. "You have no problem teasing me, but when it comes to taking my money, suddenly you’re shy, is that it?"
Li Yang just chuckled and started the car. "I’m really not just being polite, I still have money."
When they arrived at the general market in the city, it was as if they had entered Zhang Rong’s home; she was completely familiar with everything there.
But when Li Yang saw the quantities on the list, he was shocked.
The setup was designed for Li Yang’s target of producing two hundred pheasants a day, for an annual total of seventy thousand. This required a plot of land of about 11.5 acres.
The amount of netting alone would be immense.
Only then did Li Yang understand why people said raising these things was so expensive.
’It really is expensive!’
After all was said and done, he had invested almost all the money he had left after setting aside funds for Jianshan Villa. Of his more than one million yuan, less than five hundred thousand remained.
Now Li Yang was truly starting to panic. ’Just buying the materials cost this much, and I still have to buy the chicks...’
After arranging the time and place for delivery, Li Yang left with Zhang Rong.
"What’s wrong? Your face is all pale. Not enough money?" Zhang Rong saw right through him.
Li Yang gave a dry laugh.
"Give me your card number," Zhang Rong said. "If you’re short, I’ll transfer you some for the emergency."
Li Yang shook his head.
Zhang Rong grew anxious. "Why are you still being so polite with me?"
Just as he was thinking, Li Yang’s phone rang. It was a call from He Weiweng.
"Divine Doctor Li, the medicinal wine is selling very well! I’ve already sold thirty portions in the last two or three days. Let me settle the payment with you," He Weiweng said, his voice filled with excitement.
’Oh, the results are pretty good!’
"Okay, I’ll head to your pharmacy right away!" Li Yang said with a grin. "Aunt Rong, let’s go. I have money coming in. I need to go collect a payment. Come with me."
Since Aunt Rong didn’t have anything else to do, she agreed. Seeing the eager look on Li Yang’s face, she asked curiously, "What is it that you’re selling?"
Li Yang gave a mysterious smile, then suddenly burst out laughing. "It’s a shame this stuff isn’t suitable for you, Aunt Rong. Otherwise, I’d get you a big bottle to help you... build up your strength."
Aunt Rong didn’t know what he was talking about, but she felt it was something sleazy.
When they arrived at Hundred Herbs Hall, He Weiweng was already waiting respectfully for them.
"In total, thirty-one portions have been sold," He Weiweng said, holding out a list. "Among them, twenty-six were single-portion purchases from customers who said they’d buy the full set if the effects are good. The other five were very decisive and bought a full package each. The total revenue is five hundred and ten thousand yuan. Let me transfer the money to you."
Five hundred and ten thousand!
Aunt Rong was a bit puzzled. "What on earth are you selling?"
"Aphrodisiac wine," Li Yang said with a mischievous grin. "Aunt Rong, want to try some?"
"I knew you were up to no good!" Aunt Rong’s face flushed slightly as she scoffed at him. "Selling things like that."
Li Yang laughed heartily and said to He Weiweng, "Alright, let’s stick to our original agreement. You take a one-thousand-yuan commission for each portion sold. Just deduct your share and give me the rest."
He Weiweng wanted to decline, but seeing Li Yang’s serious expression, he didn’t dare say more and could only nod. "Alright!"
After deducting fifty thousand yuan, Li Yang was left with around four hundred and sixty thousand.
After receiving the money, Li Yang bid farewell to He Weiweng and left.
He had just spent nearly a million, but he had also recouped over four hundred thousand, so Li Yang was in a pretty good mood.
Besides, from the looks of it, this business had a lot of potential.
He got into the car, beaming with delight.
"Look at that shifty grin on your face," Zhang Rong couldn’t help but say. "Just how many middle-aged men have you swindled?"
Li Yang replied with a smug smile, "Aunt Rong, you have no idea. So many middle-aged men achieve great success only to find that their spirit is willing but their flesh is weak. They need me to save them."
