Chapter 77 - 78: Chicks Grow Up Fast

Chapter 77: Chapter 78: Chicks Grow Up Fast

Two more carloads of people arrived without a hitch, putting Li Yang in a good mood. He went to find Aunt Min again and told her the news.

Aunt Min got excited and immediately went to prepare things.

The next day, Liu Jinsheng arrived bright and early with two carloads of people.

"Brother..." Liu Jinsheng had long since lost the arrogance he’d had when he first met Li Yang. On the contrary, he was extremely polite, stepping forward to offer a cigarette. "See? I brought you two whole carloads. Not bad, huh?"

"Not bad at all," Li Yang said, quite satisfied. "Keep up the good work. Who knows, we might have even more people coming here in the future."

"This really is a great place!" Liu Jinsheng had no idea how Li Yang had managed to pull Manager Niu over to his side, and it naturally made him a bit more fearful of him. "Brother, can I keep bringing people here in the future?"

"Sure," Li Yang said with a nod. "Just like we agreed before. You’re only responsible for bringing people, and we’ll do a seventy-thirty split."

"Alright." Liu Jinsheng saw how perfect the spot was for fishing and knew that if he refused, he wouldn’t even make this much. He could only nod in agreement.

"Don’t look so down in the dumps!" Li Yang pointed to the edge of the lake where construction was about to begin. "See that? I’m planning to build a fishing center right here. In the future, there will be a rest area, a cafeteria for meals, a convenience store, and even a parking lot. You know why? I want to turn our village lake into a premier fishing destination. Understand? If you stick with it and keep bringing me lots of people, you’ll earn a lot more than just a little."

Liu Jinsheng felt a little dazed.

’He’s talking about something that sounds so far-fetched, so why is it getting me so excited?’

"Keep up the good work," Li Yang said, nodding at him.

"Alright!" Liu Jinsheng agreed, still in a bit of a daze.

"Xiaoyang, where did you find so many people?" a villager asked, walking over curiously. "Are they all coming to our village to fish?"

Li Yang chuckled. "But of course! The scenery here is beautiful. It’s perfect for fishing."

That afternoon, Qin Susu drove to the village again.

"I’ve already registered the company, found a warehouse in the city, and hired the staff. Now let’s go take a look at the site," Qin Susu said, accompanied by several technical employees.

Li Yang nodded and led them into a mountain valley.

After a walk of about forty minutes, they were up in the mountains.

Looking down, they saw an azure lake spread out below them.

Everyone was stunned, feeling as if their bodies and souls were being cleansed.

"The water quality here is definitely top-notch!" one of the technicians exclaimed, excitedly stepping forward to scoop some water into a container. He even took a few sips and praised it, "Amazing! The taste is excellent, better than a lot of brands on the market. Now we just have to check the trace element content. If it meets the standards, I think we’ve found our golden goose!"

The others burst into laughter.

"Let’s not get carried away just looking at the water! We still need to find a suitable location for the factory," Qin Susu said, happy as well.

"Right!" The others began scouting for a suitable location.

"I was wondering, is everything okay with your family?" Li Yang asked.

"They got divorced!" Qin Susu said, sounding rather pleased. "My dad and Wu Juan split up. That pair of lovebirds went off with Wu Juan. Oh, and my dad gave them three million yuan to get lost for good. Seriously... to cheat on my dad like that!"

Li Yang gave a dry laugh and asked, "And your dad’s health... is it holding up okay?"

"What?" Qin Susu paused, taken aback. "His health is excellent."

Li Yang just said, "Oh," and then added with another dry laugh, "Well, that’s good. As long as he’s healthy."

Qin Susu didn’t give it a second thought. Once her workers had collected all the necessary data, she immediately led them away.

He had just gotten home when Zhou Liyun rushed over anxiously. "Xiaoyang, come quick! You have to see our chicks..."

"What is it?" A thought struck Li Yang, and he immediately asked.

"You’ll see when we get there!" Zhou Liyun said, pulling Li Yang toward her house.

When they arrived at the fenced-in chicken run behind the mountain, Li Yang’s eyes widened in disbelief. "These... are these the chicks we just bought?"

"Yes! All one thousand of them are right here. How did they get so big?" Zhou Liyun asked, completely baffled. "I haven’t fed them anything special, just our regular homemade feed."

Understanding dawned on Li Yang, and he suddenly burst out laughing.

He had figured it out.

’It was just like last time with the wild onions. They grew incredibly fast after being irrigated with water from the jade thumb ring. The same thing was clearly happening with these chickens. The effect was just indirect, so they didn’t grow quite as quickly as the plants. Even so, they were still growing several times faster than normal.’

’If that’s really the case...’

Li Yang’s eyes lit up. ’If that’s true, then this feed could be a game-changer.’

"Zhou Liyun, this is a great thing!" Li Yang said with a wide grin. "If our chickens grow faster, we can get them to market faster. How is that not a good thing?"

"It is," Zhou Liyun nodded, "but I just feel like there’s something strange about it."

"What’s so strange about it? Don’t worry!" Li Yang was grinning from ear to ear. "From now on, we can just sit back and rake in the cash!"
