Chapter 79: Chapter 80: Kidnapped

Li Yang’s lip twitched as he watched Qin Gang’s face turn a sickly green.

’Old Qin, you brought this on yourself.’

’If you hadn’t been so full of yourself earlier, I wouldn’t be twisting the knife like this.’

’That’s right. I’m just that petty.’

"I’ve made a fool of myself..." If he weren’t currently begging Li Yang for a favor, Qin Gang would have already cursed him out. But as things stood, he needed the man’s help and didn’t dare offend him.

Swallowing his anger, Qin Gang changed the subject. "Actually, the reason I came today was to ask... last time, you saved my mother’s life. Could you take a look at an illness I have?"

"What illness?" Li Yang asked, feigning surprise. "You seem perfectly healthy, Mr. Qin."

Qin Gang looked mortified. "Well..." he said cautiously, "the doctors say it’s syphilis. I have no idea how it happened, but they say it’s very hard to cure completely... Is there anything you can do?"

"Syphilis!" Li Yang slammed his hand on the table with a loud BANG.

Just then, a waitress came in with their dishes. Hearing the word "syphilis," she froze in her tracks, too scared to move.

Qin Gang’s face was a mask of pure agony. "Xiaoli," he hissed, "sit down..."

"Miss, don’t be afraid," Li Yang said to the waitress kindly. "Syphilis isn’t that easy to spread. Besides, this gentleman here only just caught it. You’ll be fine. Just make sure you don’t touch him when you put down the dishes."

The waitress put down the food and scurried away as if he were carrying the plague.

"There might be a way... but it’s quite expensive!" Li Yang normally hated using his medical skills to make money, but his impression of Qin Gang was just that bad. ’Screw it,’ he thought, hardening his heart. ’I’ll just rip him off this one time.’

"That’s fine, money is no object!" Qin Gang said urgently. "All I care about right now is this disease."

"Alright. I’ll go home and come up with a plan for you," Li Yang said, nodding.

"Excellent, excellent..." Just then, the door was suddenly slammed open with a BANG, and several burly thugs barged in.

"What do you want?" Qin Gang asked, startled.

"President Qin, you seem to be having a nice meal!" The leader, a man with a buzz cut, sneered at Qin Gang. "What, you’re living the good life and have already forgotten about us?"

"I don’t know you. Get the hell out of here right now!" Qin Gang snapped.

SLAP!

One of the thugs stepped forward and slapped Qin Gang across the face.

Qin Gang stumbled back several steps, a frightened look on his face as he clutched his cheek.

"Gentlemen, if you have something to say, let’s talk it over calmly..." Li Yang said to them.

"Kid, you’re not getting out of this either. Come with us now, or else..." The man with the buzz cut stared menacingly at Li Yang. "Move!" he barked.

"Who the hell are you people!" Qin Gang asked in a panic. "Leave me alone! Do you have a grudge against him? Then go after him! I’m not even his friend!"

Li Yang almost laughed. ’This guy is terrified of dying. All it took was one little threat for him to completely fold.’

He couldn’t help but feel another wave of contempt for the man.

SLAP!

Annoyed by the noise, the buzz-cut leader slapped him across the face again. "Shut the fuck up, or you’ll regret it!"

Instantly, Qin Gang fell silent.

"Go!" The buzz-cut leader gave a sweeping gesture, and his men dragged Li Yang and Qin Gang outside.

Outside, the two were forced into a vehicle by the thugs.

They were discreet enough that no one on the street even noticed what was happening.

Once in the car, Qin Gang could no longer suppress his terror. "Boss," he pleaded with the buzz-cut leader in the front seat, "there must be some kind of misunderstanding. I swear, I don’t know you. You must have kidnapped the wrong person. It’s money you want, right? I’ll give you money... How much? I’ll give you whatever you want. Really, I’m very rich. Please, just let me go."

Tears started to well up in Qin Gang’s eyes as he spoke.

"President Qin..." Li Yang started to say.

"You shut up!" Qin Gang roared. "It’s all your fault, you jinx! If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be in this mess! This is all because of you!"

Li Yang was dumbfounded. ’What kind of twisted logic is that? If anyone’s to blame here, it should be you. After all, you’re the one who picked this place.’

But a moment later, Li Yang just sneered. ’Fine, I’ll just sit back and watch. I’m curious to see who these people are. Who has the guts to kidnap me?’

’I was actually considering helping you, but since you’re so ungrateful, Qin Gang, I’m going to have to seriously reconsider.’

"Shut up!" The buzz-cut leader twisted around and shot them a cold glare.

Once again, Qin Gang fell silent, his face a mask of terror.

After driving for more than half an hour, the vehicle finally came to a stop.

The car door opened, and they soon saw several familiar figures standing in a dilapidated courtyard.

"It’s you!" Qin Gang roared.
