Chapter 22: Chapter 22: His Chosen One

"Stop this arguing, this is my house, not the Sinclair residence. If Mr. Sinclair wishes to discipline his children, then he can take them home to do so."

Before the other two could even begin to rejoice under the mistaken assumption that he was kicking Lucien out, he pointed his finger directly into the face of Miles: "I am referring to him, whereas Lucien is my person now, and it is certainly not the place of anyone here to run their mouths."

"Your son, and by that I mean Miles Sinclair, is certainly no stranger to attempting to seduce me. If he could not manage to sleep with me, that is entirely due to his own lack of capability, while as for Lucien... it was I who wanted to touch him, I who wanted to make love to him."

"Who is going to forbid it?"

Then Dominic Vance did not hesitate in the slightest to pull the young man into his embrace.

"The one who has been in my bed is my person." Dominic Vance’s deep voice carried a domineering, absolute possessiveness: "From this day forward, let no one lay a finger on him. Otherwise, I will not mind crippling that person with my own two hands."

Miles felt as though his heart had been crushed by an unseen hand, his complexion turning deathly pale without a single drop of blood remaining. Seeing Lucien nestling into Dominic Vance’s chest like a delicate little bird, and hearing the words "my person" spoken from the very mouth of his own fiancé, the jealousy and resentment that had been suppressed for so long finally pierced right through Miles’s obedient, white lotus mask. His rationality completely and utterly collapsed.

"You are insane! Dominic, you have been bewitched to the point of madness by this vixen!"

Miles abruptly shot up from his seat, violently knocking over the expensive chair behind him. His eyes were heavily streaked with bloodshot veins as he pointed straight at Lucien’s face, shrieking in a high-pitched wail like a deranged lunatic who had lost his mind: "He is nothing but a ragged, whorish plaything birthed by that despicable woman! He is absolute trash! On what grounds does such a filthy, lowly thing dare to steal what belongs to me?!"

The very moment those words escaped his mouth, the entire dining room plunged into a terrifyingly eerie silence.

The pristine image of a noble, kind-hearted young master who always deeply loved his older brother, an image that Miles had painstakingly built up over a dozen years, was thoroughly shattered into a million pieces by just one single sentence of vulgar, vicious cursing.

"Miles! You shut your mouth right this instant!" Mr. Sinclair was gripped by absolute terror, jumping to his feet and slamming his hand furiously down onto the surface of the dining table. He desperately attempted to salvage the dignified image of his family, but it was already far too late.

Dominic Vance looked at Miles with a gaze full of sheer disgust, as though he were staring at a foul, stinking pile of garbage. Coldness and profound contempt were vividly displayed across his handsome face as he lazily withdrew his gaze, not even bothering to offer the other person half a passing glance.

Amidst that noisy, chaotic mess, Lucien continued to obediently rest his head against Dominic Vance’s chest. He did not scream or argue, nor did he hurl insults back at Miles. He merely blinked his tear-filled eyes, his voice as light and weightless as a thin breeze, yet possessing an incredibly sharp edge:

"Miles... I have never once wanted to fight for anything that is yours." "I do not even have the capability to do so... Our father belongs to you, our family belongs to you, and they certainly do not need me anymore." Lucien smiled, a melancholic and desolate smile that nonetheless stabbed directly into his opponent’s dark heart: "However... he is the one who chose me."

Those words were no different from a heavy hammer entirely obliterating the pride and psychological defenses of Miles. He staggered backward a step and collapsed onto the floor, clutching his head with both hands as he continuously muttered a stream of curses in a state of sheer madness.

One person had fallen.

The absolute protection and the terrifyingly oppressive aura of Dominic Vance had utterly crushed the filthy ambitions of the Sinclair father and son. Dominic Vance did not want to remain in this nauseating environment for even a single second longer. He tightened his arm securely around Lucien’s waist, and without uttering another word, he directly turned his back, half-embracing and half-pulling Lucien as they departed from the dining room.

Along the quiet, gloomy corridors of the villa, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed in rapid succession. Lucien was being pulled along by the powerful force of Dominic Vance, causing his steps to falter and sway slightly.

Suddenly, the man’s footsteps came to a halt. He roughly spun Lucien around, using his broad frame to pin him tightly against the freezing wall of the hallway.

The surrounding space was dim, with only a faint glimmer of light casting shadows upon the sharp, angular contours of Dominic Vance’s face. His gaze at this moment no longer held the cold detachment and protective nature it had back in the dining room, but was completely replaced by a dark, dangerous, and blazing fire of primal lust. The wild beast had been awakened once more.

Dominic Vance’s large hand reached out, tightly gripping Lucien’s chin and forcing him to look up and meet his eyes directly. His rough thumb applied a heavy pressure, forcefully rubbing against the young man’s swollen lips.

"Not a bad performance at all." Dominic Vance’s voice was deep and hoarse, softly exhaling a scorching breath against his sensitive ear: "You did that on purpose, did you not?"

The man was no fool; this little rabbit might be timid, but the theatrical manner in which he deliberately spoke those words to drive Miles into a frenzy was unmistakable.

Lucien did not answer him, but merely parted his lips slightly, running his tongue over the tip of the finger that was caressing his mouth: "I was simply telling the truth. They did not choose me, but you chose me, did you not?"

Then Lucien lowered his eyes again, appearing as though he were suppressing something deep within: "Truthfully, it is quite alright even if you do not choose me."

It was a soft, quiet whisper, perhaps because Lucien himself could not be certain whether this person had truly chosen him or not: "I will pack my own belongings and leave. I will not cause you any trouble."

Dominic Vance’s countenance instantly darkened: "Where do you think you are going? Have I not already made it clear? You are my person now, and no one else has the right to touch you."

"Forgetting something that just happened so quickly in the blink of an eye, it seems you are in need of being properly disciplined again."
