The System Keeps Making Me Do Indecent Missions [BL, R18]
Chapter 35: A Shift in ControlChapter 35: Chapter 35: A Shift in Control
The next morning’s light lacked its usual brilliance, shrouded instead by a gloomy, gray layer of clouds. In Dominic Vance’s vast bedroom, the space still lingered with the faint scent of antiseptic from the medical kit the night before, intermingling with the cold aroma of agarwood drifting in from the balcony.
Dominic woke up in a haze. By instinct, he reached his hand to the side, only for his palm to touch the cold, empty expanse of the mattress.
Dominic paused for a moment, seemingly jolted completely awake. For some reason, he felt a persistent sense of irritation in his chest, his face growing even more frustrated from the abrupt awakening. Dominic could not clearly articulate what this emerging emotion was; he just felt a slight sense of emptiness. Perhaps because he was so accustomed to holding everything in his grasp, now that something had slipped beyond his sphere of control, the man became increasingly infuriated.
Dominic bolted upright, sweeping his gaze around before finally stopping at the balcony.
The curtains hung loosely, fluttering in the wind to reveal the silhouette of someone sitting there. Needless to say, Dominic knew that the figure was the very person who had been causing his frustration all along.
Lucien was wrapped in a thin ash-gray blanket, which was precisely Dominic’s silk blanket. His slightly messy black hair was blown wildly across his forehead by the morning wind. In the young man’s hand was a glass of water, which Dominic guessed must be completely cold by now, because judging by that posture, Lucien must have been sitting there for quite some time.
The distance was far and the sky was still a bit dark, so Dominic could not see clearly, but he seemed to notice that the other person’s eyes were wandering somewhere on the ground in front of the villa. Or perhaps Lucien was staring into some boundless void. It was just that from Dominic’s perspective, the young man looked so fragile, as if a mere gust of wind could blow him away.
Dominic remembered the day he saw this person masturbating on the bed, cheeks flushed red, and although frail, there was still a trace of fresh beauty. It had not been many days, just a single phone call back to the Sinclair family. Ultimately, how terrifying must it have been to make a person seemingly give up like that?
This silent demeanor of Lucien inexplicably made Dominic uncomfortable. It seemed to carry a sense of detachment, an invisible barrier that Dominic had never seen in the young man before.
He strode out, his voice still carrying the thick hoarseness of the early morning: "What are you doing sitting out here? Do you not feel cold?"
Lucien did not flinch, nor did he turn his head to look at him. The youth took a small sip of the cold water: "I could not sleep."
The whisper was very soft, followed by an empty silence so profound it felt entirely desolate.
Dominic leaned against the doorframe, his deep eyes observing the person in front of him. He realized that today Lucien was wearing a long-sleeved set of pajamas, the collar buttoned tightly up to the very top, completely concealing the marks of their passionate lovemaking that he had left behind last night. If it were in the past, Lucien would have intentionally or unintentionally revealed a portion of his collarbone or fair white skin to seduce him, or perhaps to drive Miles crazy. But now... it was as if this person wanted to erase every trace of his breath from his own body.
[Host, the target’s emotional index is fluctuating very abnormally.]
The voice of 000 rang out in Lucien’s mind, this time being the first personality again. Hearing its serious tone for the past few days, Lucien suddenly missed that eccentric, crazy second tone.
[Warning: Dominic Vance is falling into a state of insecurity due to losing control. The host is pushing the romantic plotline too fast.]
Lucien looked down at the row of trees below, softly replying in his mind, "Is it not better the more he loves? This man must experience the feeling of being unable to hold onto something before he learns how to cherish it."
[Excessive love will turn into a loss of control, the host should be careful.]
Lucien sneered slightly: "The only thing I need to care about is how to make him satisfied in terms of lust. Whether he goes crazy or insane has nothing to do with me, 000, I told you already. If the world collapses because the plot deviates, that is the business of the plot department, not ours. Did you not tell me on the first day to ignore that rotten plot?"
000 fell silent; it had no way to reply. Lucien was not wrong, as long as Dominic’s sexual issues were completely resolved, the mission of this world would be considered complete. And to "completely resolve" it meant unless Lucien spent his entire life being a bed partner for this guy, or found a justifiable reason to rationalize the fact that the man could not be "satisfied".
The path Lucien was currently taking was indeed not wrong: pushing Dominic to fall in love with Lucien, and then 000 arranging for him to conclude the mission and leave this world. By doing so, Dominic’s condition could be rationalized as losing sexual pleasure due to losing the person he loved.
However... how could there be any host who just transmigrated into a world for a few days and already pushed the plot at such a rapid pace? If the world collapsed because the plot went too far off track, the supervisor of the plot department would scrape off its paint layer.
But it still could not negotiate with Lucien. Clearly, when it first received the host, it thought this person was very naive and easy to deceive, right? How come after just a few days, he seemed increasingly perverted?
It could not think anymore, only able to hide in the space and watch the ensuing situation.
At this moment, Dominic stared intently at the back of Lucien’s head, the feeling of stifling frustration rising higher and higher. He stepped forward, grabbing the young man’s shoulders to turn him around: "Go inside and change your clothes, I am taking you to the hospital."
Lucien lowered his eyes, offering no resistance, only nodding lightly: "Yes."
Throughout the way to the hospital, the atmosphere in the car was so quiet it felt suffocating. Lucien leaned his head against the glass window, tired eyes watching the stream of people passing by, completely devoid of any intention to initiate a conversation with the man beside him. Dominic clenched his hands tightly on the steering wheel, green veins popping up on the back of his hands. He was accustomed to Lucien always looking at him with sparkling eyes full of smiles or brimming with mist; now, this indifference from the young man was like a type of invisible punishment striking straight at his self-esteem.
At the hospital, after the doctor examined the injuries and took his temperature, the old doctor’s face became stern.
"The tear is quite serious, and it has sustained a mild infection causing a high fever. His body was already frail to begin with, did he suffer from previous psychological trauma?"
The doctor shot a less-than-friendly glance at Dominic. "You are his family, so you should pay attention, the patient currently must not endure any further intense stimulation. His psychological state is very poor, extremely sensitive."
Every word the doctor said was like a slap to Dominic’s face. He knew exactly the cause of the tear. He knew precisely who was the one that went crazy in bed last night. A sense of guilt slowly spread like a kind of poison, making him only able to stand there in silence, looking at Lucien lying on the hospital bed with his eyes shut tight, his face as pale as a blank sheet of paper.
Right at this moment, Dominic’s phone vibrated continuously. The man took a look; it was a message from his assistant as well as a phone call from Miles.
The more he looked, the more stifled he felt. Ultimately, he still picked up the call, and Miles’s tearful voice, on the verge of crying, came through: "Dominic..."
"If there is a matter, speak directly. Do not stand there crying to me."
The other side seemed to choke up for a moment before sniffling and speaking up: "The people at home told me that yesterday you carried my brother home. It is just that... when you picked him up on the street and carried him to the car, someone saw it. You know it too, our engagement was already made public before. Now that you did that, those crowds are spreading wild rumors that Lucien is shameless, deliberately seducing his brother-in-law to squeeze into our engagement."
The person on the other end hesitated slightly: "You see... dragging this matter out will not be good for you, and my brother will also get a bad reputation. How about we do not let him live in the same house with us anymore?"
