Liam’s POV

In a split second, all my anger vanished, and pure panic took over.

I rushed back down the path and threw myself onto the grass beside her. "Scarlett! Scarlett, look at me!" I yelled, my voice shaking. I tapped her pale cheek gently, but her eyes stayed shut. Her skin felt terrifyingly cold.

Without wasting another moment, I scooped her up into my arms. She felt so light, completely empty of her usual strength. I held her tight against my chest and opened the pack mind link, my thoughts screaming in terror. Healers! Get to the mansion right now! It’s an emergency!

I kicked open the heavy back doors of the packhouse and carried her inside. As I rushed through the living room, Leo and Leonard suddenly appeared from the hallway. Both of them looked up, their faces instantly turning pale with worry the second they saw Scarlett unconscious in my arms. They tried to step forward, but I didn’t stop. I ran straight up the stairs and carried her into her room, gently laying her down on the bed.

Seconds later, the head healer rushed through the door. She quickly walked over to the bed and began checking Scarlett, her hands moving over her pulse and forehead.

Suddenly, the healer froze. Her eyes went completely wide with total shock.

"Does anyone have any idea what she really is?" the healer whispered, her voice trembling as she looked up at us. "Oh my God... she is a red wolf."

I stood there, completely confused. My mind went blank. "A red wolf?" I asked. "What are you talking about?"

"Yes," the healer said, turning her worried gaze back to Scarlett. "She is a red wolf, and her rare abilities are exactly what made her faint. Her inner power is increasing way too fast right now, and it is becoming completely uncontrollable. Her human body can’t handle the heavy pressure."

I stared down at Scarlett, my heart racing. She is a red wolf? Suddenly, everything clicked. Now I finally understood why she had always refused to shift in front of us. She was hiding a power so ancient and dangerous it could change everything.

"Once she wakes up, she must not fight it anymore," the healer warned, packing up her things. "She needs to start shifting into her wolf form to let that power out, or it will destroy her from the inside. Keep her warm."

The healer quickly left the room to get some medicine, leaving a heavy silence behind.

I turned around to look at my brothers. Leonard looked just as shocked and completely frozen as I was. But when I looked at Leo, my blood turned to ice. He wasn’t surprised at all. His face was completely calm.

A fresh wave of hot anger flared in my chest. I stepped toward him, glaring with pure fury.

"You knew about this too, didn’t you?" I spat. "You already knew she was a red wolf!"

Leo didn’t say a single word. He just stared at Scarlett’s face on the bed, but his guilty silence proved everything. He had kept another massive secret from us.

I slammed my foot straight into a wooden stool near the bed, kicking it across the room in pure rage. It crashed into the wall, breaking into pieces.

"Liam, calm down!" Leonard said, his voice tense as he stepped toward me, trying to keep the peace.

I whipped around to face him, my chest heaving. "Calm down?!" I roared. "Leo kept so many things from us! Our own brother has been playing us for fools this entire time!"

Just then, a soft gasp came from the bed.

I stopped yelling and spun around. Scarlett’s long eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes, looking around the room with a dazed, confused expression.

Seeing her awake, I couldn’t hold myself back anymore. I walked right up to the edge of the mattress, my hands clenched into tight fists.

"Scarlett," I said, my voice low as I forced myself to stay under control. "So... when exactly were you going to tell me that you are a red wolf?"

She froze completely. A look of total shock and panic flashed across her pale face, and she opened her mouth as if to make an excuse.

"Don’t," I snapped, cutting her off before she could even start. "There is no need to lie to me anymore. The healer already told us everything."

"I was planning on telling you," Scarlett said, her voice small and shaky as she looked up at me from the bed. "I really was. I wanted to wait until Leo and Leonard returned from the battle, so I could tell all of you together."

I let out a harsh, bitter scoff, the sound echoing loudly in the quiet bedroom. "But Leo already knew," I threw back at her, crossing my arms tightly over my chest. "He always knows first, doesn’t he?"

"Leo found out accidentally!" Scarlett cried out, trying to sit up, though her pale face showed how weak she still was. "I didn’t choose to tell him over you, Liam. It just happened!"

"Leo this, Leo that!" I spat, my vision turning red as the pure, toxic jealousy flared right back up in my throat. I couldn’t even look at her without seeing the web of secrets they had spun together. "Every single thing always comes back to him! If he is so perfect, and if he gets to share every single piece of your life while I’m left in the dark, why don’t you just choose him right now? Just be with him and let the rest of us go!"

"Liam, calm down!" Leo barked, finally stepping forward with his hands raised.

That was the last straw. I completely lost it.

In a blur of speed, I crossed the room and grabbed him tightly by the collar, slamming him against the wall just like I had done in the bedroom before. "Don’t tell me to fucking calm down!" I roared right into his face, my fangs baring as my Alpha aura flared violently. "You don’t get to tell me anything anymore, Leo!"

"Liam, stop!" Scarlett yelled from the bed, her voice cracking with desperation.

But I refused to let go. My grip only tightened on Leo’s shirt, the anger inside me burning too hot to control. I wanted to tear him apart for every single secret, every single lie, and every piece of her he had kept for himself.

"I said, stop!" Scarlett roared.

Suddenly, a massive, terrifying wave of pure energy exploded from the bed. It wasn’t a normal wolf’s aura—it was a heavy, ancient force that filled the entire room in a split second.

Before I could even blink, that great power slammed violently into my chest. It gripped me like an invisible hand and yanked me completely away from Leo, throwing me backward across the floor.
