As the system’s words fell, the space tore open right above Alen’s body. Rays of brilliant silver light fell from the fracture, descending directly onto his figure. A silver glow expanded across his body, illuminating the surrounding crystal hall.

Suddenly, his striking Azure eyes deepened as a pitch-black concentric ring with a cross-shaped pattern appeared within his pupils. The Red Star manifested securely inside his body.

A bright silver glow emitted from the pitch-black shade on one arm of the faint, seven-pointed Star marking his palm.

His body began to eagerly absorb the silver light, and he felt the Star merge warmly with his very soul.

’Sigh... I thought I would have gotten a ’Black’ Star, but it seems in order to get the Black Star, I have to conquer the trials exceptionally well and much faster. Let’s not get depressed over it, I will think about the rest later...’

The pillar of bright silver light slowly began to thin out as all of the energy absorbed into his form, making his body feel lighter and infinitely stronger. He felt like he had just gotten a fresh, hot water bath after years of wandering around in the dirt. His mana core, as well as its purity, had been enhanced to a massive extent.

If he took note of his form, his body had become stronger and more handsome. Not the bulky kind of strong, but leaner, with tightened muscles and compressed strength. Along with his delicate, handsome face, his skin had become softer, almost like a baby’s.

’Sigh... It seems this time, I definitely have to find some good mask to hide my face, or I will never get to live a normal life...’

Even the power difference between a Black Star and a Red Star was not much of a gap. The only thing that differentiated the Black Star from the Red Star was its unique, universe-breaking power, which could only be obtained to one person in the entire universe.

That was why they were so rare and hard to find. Other than that, their base power levels were nearly the same.

Alen waited patiently for the description of his new Supreme Ability to be revealed.

Alen looked at his status, and he couldn’t help but be attracted to his increased stats. They had jumped to a massive extent; even his MP and HP had increased so much. All of his pain and effort passing the trials had been worth it.

Just as he was busy looking at the screen, the space swirled around as two dimensional gates opened in the silent library. Alen immediately pulled back his gaze, not wanting to remain in the illusion of becoming stronger and becoming arrogant. He knew that even if he had grown powerful, there were people existing in this world who were far more powerful than him. Until he stood on the very top, there was always going to be someone looking down at him.

So, instead of just being happy and cheering for his success, he chose to move forward and walk on his path. He had learned and understood one major thing from this stage. True wisdom would never be simply chosen or decided by a choice; it had to be imprinted on a person’s instincts and their heart. The path he would choose was never going to be an easy one with no danger. In order to grow, a person has to walk through the path of fire to burn his own skin, just to become strong enough to burn the whole world.

With a final satisfied nod, he entered inside the Green gate, choosing to exit the trial.

All he wanted to do right now was eat some good, tasteless food, and sleep nicely in a soft bed while clutching a pillow.
