The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 2244: Returning to Beijing on Saturday

Nathalie Quinlan originally had a burst of anger. Suddenly, a bottle of water appeared in her hand. The icy coolness seemed to relax her tense nerves.

She was silent for a moment. Amadeus Yancey took advantage of this time to instruct Alfred Garland: "Get her out."

"Yes, Amadeus."

Alfred Garland had been waiting for this, and without expression, he walked up to Mrs. Davidson and gestured: "This way, please."

Mrs. Davidson hadn’t achieved her goal yet, so she was not willing to leave.

She was a bit flustered and tried to bypass Alfred Garland to grab Nathalie Quinlan’s hand, but was stopped by Alfred.

Mrs. Davidson’s heart sank. Not caring about face, she panicked and said, "Nathalie, Leony cannot be kicked out of Inderia. Have you thought about how she’d manage by herself outside?! She..."

Amadeus Yancey’s deep eyes held no warmth, only frost: "Alfred Garland, what are you waiting for?"

Oh crap, Amadeus was angry now.

Alfred dared not delay any longer, pulling Mrs. Davidson toward the door: "If you don’t want Leony Davidson to meet a worse fate, I advise you to shut up!"

Mrs. Davidson, anxious and unwilling to go, kept struggling.

Before she was dragged out, Nathalie Quinlan suddenly stood up, looked at her, and spoke faintly: "I may have grown up without a mother, but I don’t want to understand the ’love a mother has for her daughter’ that you speak of."

Mrs. Davidson looked at her, gritted her teeth, and was about to speak.

"No matter what kind of love, it’s not noble enough to be more important than a life. Whether Leony Davidson knows she used poison, she knows in her heart... If she is truly unaware, I don’t believe Uncle Nabours would go to such lengths."

Having said this, Nathalie seemed unwilling to continue the conversation.

Alfred Garland, keeping his eyes on the ground, directly pulled the dazed Mrs. Davidson out, giving her no chance to continue entangling.

Sadam Vinson saw her being thrown out and finally relaxed his frown. He placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder and gently patted it, trying to lighten the mood with a smile: "Nathalie, don’t mind her. She couldn’t teach her daughter well herself, and even let her develop a sense of superiority. Is being a mother so remarkable? If I wanted to be, I could... cough cough... maybe not."

"But even if I had a daughter, I wouldn’t be like her, incapable of distinguishing right from wrong, acting as if everyone should accommodate her daughter! Why, because she has thick skin?" Sadam Vinson was still holding onto his anger.

Damn, they even said Nathalie grew up without a mom. So what? Leony Davidson had a mom from the start, yet it didn’t improve her upbringing.

In comparison, despite growing up untamed, Nathalie is more outstanding than anyone!

At least her values are correct.

Far more correct than those of Leony Davidson!

To this day, Leony Davidson probably hasn’t properly come forward to apologize to her aunt, always hiding behind her parents.

Such a person was once part of an 8-level laboratory.

Just thinking about it is ridiculous.

Amadeus Yancey didn’t mention this detail, approached, unscrewed the bottle cap for the girl, handed the water back, lowered his head, his gaze gentle: "I heard from Edric that you’re going back to Beijing for a while?"

Sadam Vinson was caught off guard by the affection, wanting to poke his eyes out. Hearing this, he immediately perked up and leaned over: "Nathalie, are you going back? When,"

Nathalie Quinlan took the water from his hand, drank a sip, and said pretty coolly: "Saturday."

"Saturday?" Sadam Vinson mused, rubbing his chin: "Govert Griffin’s mother’s birthday banquet is on Saturday. Are you going?"

Nathalie had mentioned before that she didn’t have time so she wouldn’t go.

Upon hearing Sadam Vinson mention it, she paused for a moment and casually placed the water on the table: "We’ll see."
