The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 2259: Mr. Zachmann Hasn’t Arrived at the Agreed Time

"Nathalie." As soon as he saw the girl come in, Stanley Zachmann was the first to stand up and walk over quickly. He grabbed the girl’s hand, looking her up and down, his eye sockets suddenly hot as he forced back the sting in his nose, and said softly, "How did you lose weight? Have you not been resting well in McKinney? Oh right, is your Uncle Cagwin feeling better? I called Freddy Cagwin before and said I wanted to go see you, he said you were very busy, so I didn’t go and bother you. Who knew you’d lose so much weight—if I’d known, I definitely would’ve gone to keep you company."

Nathalie Quinlan lightly patted his hand, lowered her eyes, and said, "I’m fine. Uncle Cagwin is much better."

"That’s good." Stanley Zachmann took another long look at her, as if no matter how he looked it was never enough, and only then noticed Amadeus Yancey behind Nathalie Quinlan.

The man’s looks were stunning, and his bearing extraordinary.

Just standing there, his aura alone suppressed everyone else in the private room.

"Mr. Yancey." Knowing his relationship with his daughter, Stanley Zachmann politely nodded to him and greeted him.

Amadeus Yancey was lazy and casual with other people, but his attitude toward Stanley Zachmann was extremely respectful. He immediately greeted him: "Uncle, you can just call me Amadeus."

Stanley Zachmann raised his eyes to look at him, then hesitated, glancing at his own daughter. His heart felt somewhat uncomfortable, and he couldn’t bring himself to say it.

Sigh, the precious cabbage of his own family had only been found again a few years ago.

No matter how much he admired the young man in front of him, the moment he thought that in less than two years his daughter would be carried off by him, Stanley truly didn’t want to call him "nephew."

Fortunately, Audrick Zachmann was perceptive, and said with a grin to the few of them, "Uncle, Amadeus, you two sit first, Sit down and talk."

Stanley Zachmann had Nathalie Quinlan sit beside him, and Amadeus Yancey, with high emotional intelligence, chose to sit with one seat between himself and Nathalie. He pulled out a chair and sat down.

"Has Mr. Zachmann not come yet? Do you want me to have someone go pick Mr. Zachmann up?"

Leonardy Zachmann and Hendrik Zachmann hadn’t said much the whole time, mainly because under the pressure of Amadeus Yancey’s presence, plus those things stirred up by Caryn Zachmann, they had no face, and felt too embarrassed to start a conversation.

It wasn’t until Amadeus Yancey mentioned the old Mr. Zachmann.

Only then did Leonardy Zachmann chime in: "I just had a phone call with him. He’s supposed to take his blood pressure at 6:30. He should be on the way now."

Mr. Zachmann’s health was poor, and his high blood pressure was particularly serious. Otherwise back then he wouldn’t have almost had a cerebral hemorrhage from being angered by Caryn Zachmann.

Fortunately, Nathalie Quinlan had been there at the time, so nothing worse happened.

After he said that, Amadeus Yancey only responded with a faint "mm," showing no intention of continuing the Topic.

The way he treated him and the way he treated Stanley Zachmann were two completely different things.

Leonardy Zachmann’s face burned, and he knew very well why Amadeus Yancey had this attitude toward him, so he didn’t make a fool of himself.

Audrick Zachmann, however, noticed his dad’s awkward situation. After all, he was his own father, and Audrick couldn’t quite bear it, so he stepped in to smooth things over, bringing up a few Topics to bring Leonardy Zachmann into the conversation.

The private room grew lively, and everyone tacitly avoided mentioning the name Caryn, as if that whole incident had never happened.

Soon it was already 6:50.

The waiter for the private room knocked and came in, asking them with practiced politeness, "Mr. Zachmann, there are ten minutes left until the time you reserved for your banquet. May we start serving the dishes now?"

Only then did Stanley Zachmann notice the time. He raised his hand to look at his watch, frowned, and said, "That’s strange, why hasn’t your grandpa come yet?"

The Nursing Home where Mr. Zachmann was staying was not far from the Imperial Hotel. It was roughly a More than Ten Minutes’ drive, and that was also why Nathalie Quinlan had chosen the Imperial Hotel.

Once Stanley Zachmann said that, Nathalie’s expression tightened slightly as she too noticed the time. She stood up and said, "I’ll make a phone call and ask."
