The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 2264: Caryn Zachmann Goes to Extremes

She reported a bank account Celine Tucker had set up for her overseas in her early years.

Nathalie Quinlan took out her phone without saying a word, looked down, and transferred a sum of money to her. After the transfer, she even showed her the phone.

"The money you asked for has been transferred."

At this moment, Caryn Zachmann didn’t bother to verify whether Nathalie Quinlan had indeed transferred the money; as long as she had seen the transfer record, it should have gone through.

She gave the girl a sinister smile: "Come here."

"Before you come over, take everything out of your pockets; don’t bring anything with you."

Nathalie did as she was told, throwing her phone, keychain, and some small items she carried onto the ground, then strode confidently toward Caryn Zachmann and Mr. Zachmann.

Amadeus Yancey’s eyes darkened slightly, seemingly understanding what she intended to do.

He placed a hand on the agitated Stanley Zachmann, murmuring, "Uncle, don’t worry, she’s not impulsive, she must have her own plan."

Stanley Zachmann agreed, but his heart was uneasy, pounding like a drum.

Mr. Zachmann watched Nathalie Quinlan walk toward him, his heart breaking, tears streaming down as he continuously urged her to go back: "Didn’t I tell you not to worry about me?"

"Nathalie, be obedient, go back first."

"I’m an old man, I’ll be alright."

"Stanley Zachmann, what are you doing, bring her back!"

Caryn Zachmann listened to Mr. Zachmann focusing entirely on Nathalie Quinlan, always only concerned about Nathalie, then watched the fiercely approaching girl, a feral smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

"Come over."

As she ordered the girl to come closer, she made a gesture as if to push Mr. Zachmann away to let him go.

Then, just as she reached out to grab Nathalie Quinlan with one hand, the other hand took the opportunity to swing a knife toward Mr. Zachmann’s arm—

"Grandpa!"

"Dad!"

Everyone was stunned by Caryn Zachmann’s sudden action. In shock, Stanley Zachmann, Leonardy Zachmann, and Audrick Zachmann all rushed forward.

But it was clearly too late.

Caryn Zachmann had made up her mind to injure Mr. Zachmann first; only if he was wounded could she manage to free a hand to successfully take Nathalie to the airport to flee abroad.

She had planned from the start that she didn’t want to take his life, just aim a couple of stabs at Mr. Zachmann’s chest or arm.

She didn’t even think her actions were wrong; in her eyes, what she did was all for self-rescue, even if Mr. Zachmann got hurt, she considered it an unavoidable solution, her expedient measure.

After all, it wouldn’t be lethal.

With Nathalie there, with her superb medical skills and wide connections, Mr. Zachmann wouldn’t be in life-threatening danger.

Caryn Zachmann acted extremely fast and ruthlessly, almost without any hesitation.

No one reacted in time.

Only Nathalie Quinlan reacted the quickest; as the knife descended, she dashed forward like an arrow, quickly pushing Mr. Zachmann aside, whispering, "Be careful!"

Since she prioritized pushing away Mr. Zachmann, she didn’t have time to dodge Caryn Zachmann’s knife. Almost instantly, Caryn Zachmann stabbed the girl in the right shoulder, and blood flowed profusely.

"Nathalie!" Mr. Zachmann, having been pushed away, yelled with eyes wide open, witnessing this scene.

Caryn Zachmann was also dumbfounded but, triggered, instinctively pulled the knife back, in a fluster preparing to stab at Mr. Zachmann who hadn’t been pushed far.

This time, Nathalie reacted even quicker, grabbing her knife firmly.

The blade was incredibly sharp.

No one expected she dared to catch it barehanded!

The girl’s right palm was immediately cut open, and blood flowed down the knife...
