Nathalie initially used the excuse of needing rest to avoid someone’s probing questions, and as a result, Amadeus Yancey sat beside her, letting her sleep quite soundly.
Later on, even though she woke up, Sadam Vinson came by to play a new mobile game with her, and with nothing better to do, Nathalie played a couple of rounds with him.
Once Nathalie figured out the pattern of this mobile game, she lost interest.
Coincidentally, the airplane had arrived.
As soon as she got off the airplane, a domineering Jeep was parked outside.
Vincent Moore drove over to pick them up.
"Ms. Quinlan, please get in the car first."
Vincent Moore directly ignored the poised and elegant man, walking straight to the girl, and respectfully opened the car door for her.
Alfred Garland saw his actions, then looked at Amadeus’s suddenly raised eyebrow, and smartly rushed over to open the other car door, immediately saying, "Amadeus, get in."
Amadeus Yancey gave him a faint smile and got into the car.
He didn’t intend to argue with Vincent Moore; he just felt that the people around him were quick to switch allegiances.
Thinking back to when Vincent Moore was strongly against Nathalie, couldn’t accept anything she did, and always found fault with her...
Now...
Amadeus glanced again at the burly man swiftly closing the door for the girl, his thin lips curled, feeling not too bad.
From the airport to Amadeus Yancey’s four-story villa in Inderia, it took about forty minutes, during which Nathalie turned on her phone.
Violetta Hoffman hadn’t sent any more messages.
Shawn Norton and Stanley Zachmann asked her if she had arrived.
Nathalie replied to them one by one.
Then she saw a message from Audrick Zachmann.
[Nathalie, have you arrived?]
[I’m sorry.]
After replying to Stanley Zachmann and Shawn Norton’s messages, she paused at Audrick’s message, understanding what he meant.
Audrick was apologizing on behalf of Caryn Zachmann for the trouble she caused this time.
Nathalie’s gaze fell on her right hand. After a month of recovery, her right hand was healed. The injury on her shoulder was more severe, occasionally still painful, but it should heal with more time.
Mr. Zachmann had also returned to the nursing home from the hospital.
Stanley Zachmann temporarily moved from the staff dormitory to the nursing home to accompany him. Before she left, the old man seemed much more spirited, at least not as downcast as when he had just been discharged.
Nathalie’s eyes slightly narrowed as she glanced at Audrick’s message again, lowered her gaze, and typed a reply to him.
——[QN: Let the past stay in the past, don’t dwell on it in your heart, it’s not your fault.]
It had been ten minutes since she sent the message, and Audrick’s status showed he was typing, but no new messages came through.
So, Nathalie put her phone away.
The phone of the person beside her rang at that moment.
Amadeus Yancey took out his phone and, with a smile on his lips, his dark eyes looked at the girl, speaking softly, "Audrick sent me a message, asking me to thank you for him."
Nathalie responded with a hum, opened the car window to let the wind from outside blow in, half-closing her eyes, her voice extremely light: "This matter has nothing to do with him."
"Mm." Amadeus nodded.
Nathalie propped her elbow on her chin, closed her eyes to enjoy the refreshing breeze, and after a while, sent a message to Nicholas Fuller to let him know she was back.
*
At The First Research Institute, Nicholas Fuller had just brewed a pot of tea, poured himself a cup, and before he could taste it, Orson Saban rushed in.
"You’re here?"
Nicholas Fuller greeted him with a cheerful wave, inviting him, "Just in time. Come over, I just brewed a pot of Pre-Rain Longjing, give it a try, it’s this year’s new tea."
