Leon Black, the first prince and the Heir to House Black... one of the four ruling families of the vampires, was the current president of the student council.

"Is everyone here?"

Leon’s blood-red eyes scanned the entirety of the hall before he turned to look at Victoria.

"The first-year representatives would arrive soon, the rest had already arrived—"

"Didn’t you tell them the time for the meeting?"

Leon didn’t raise his voice, nor had the expressions on his face changed, but everyone in the hall could feel the disappointment in his voice.

"They had been informed, but as it’s their first day, some delay is expected."

Victoria stated the obvious.

Though the first years were allowed to miss their lectures for the work of the student council, they still had to report it to their class instructor.

And after doing that, it was natural for the first years to wait for everyone to gather up before heading to the meeting.

After all, it was their first time, so going together for the meeting was a normal thing.

Then there was the fact that there were still a few minutes before the meeting was officially scheduled to begin.

Now even though the rest of the council members, along with the president, were used to arriving early, the same couldn’t be expected from the newbies.

Despite all the facts, Leon had still asked the question, as disciplining the council members was in the hands of the vice president.

Leon’s head was still turned to his right as he observed Victoria in silence.

Victoria, on her part, didn’t avoid his gaze, as she sat with her usual grace, not being intimidated in the slightest.

"Do you need me to personally inform every student about the basic principle of punctuality?"

"..."

The question was addressed to Victoria, yet the entire hall had turned silent, as none dared to breathe.

It wasn’t that Leon’s words had intimidated them.

Though Leon had a dominating presence... most of the council members currently present in the hall were nobles from various races and places across the world.

Some of them were heirs to noble houses, while the rest had equally important positions of power in their own houses.

There was no way that such students would be intimidated by the words of someone... a fellow student no less.

Their pride and upbringing wouldn’t allow their minds and bodies to show such pathetic behaviour.

The reason that the entire hall, along with Victoria and Ashlyn, had gone silent wasn’t Leon’s words but—

His presence.

Leon had currently exerted mana pressure around his vicinity, thereby covering the entire hall in it.

Though one had to be a Diamond core in order to be able to release mana pressure... elites like Leon were the exception.

They could use mana pressure even while being at the Platinum rank, and Leon... he wasn’t some random Platinum core either.

Being at Platinum 4... the mana pressure that Leon had currently exerted in his vicinity wasn’t something to be scoffed at.

Every council member could feel their bodies being suppressed, as if they were sitting in the presence of someone who stood above mortals.

After all, mana pressure was something that suppressed any and all forms of mana in its vicinity.

Whether it was natural mana in the air, or the mana in the bodies of the students... at the moment everything was being suppressed, though Leon had maintained the courtesy of showing restraint in his actions, as the intensity of the mana pressure that he had currently released was just one tenth of its original strength, but—

It was enough to establish Leon’s power and position in the room.

"I think the first-year representatives are already aware of the importance of punctuality and they neither need me nor you to remind them of such a... basic thing."

"..."

"I can assure you that all of them will be in the hall by the time the meeting officially begins."

Victoria uttered each word while staring into Leon’s eyes.

Even after feeling the suppression by Leon’s mana pressure, Victoria wasn’t fazed in the slightest.

She might have felt some discomfort due to it, but her expression remained the same... calm and composed as ever.

"Shouldn’t the members be taught to report early, before our arrival, so as to respect the hierarchy of the council?"

Leon asked the question to Victoria before shifting his gaze to Ashlyn, who sat in her seat with her usual elegance, having one leg crossed over the other.

Ashlyn had slightly tilted her neck to the left, with the side of her face resting against her loosely clenched fist, as she observed the exchange between Victoria and Leon with calm indifference in her eyes.

Though she might not have been the first princess or the heir to any empire, she was still a Levaith... someone whose status could be considered on par with the royals themselves.

At the end, despite being a dukedom, the Levaiths were the third strongest power in the Veltran Empire.

Their might was enough to challenge even the strongest ruling families of the vampires.

They wouldn’t necessarily win a direct war, but their forces were strong enough to make their enemies know the cost of war and suffer in its aftermath for ages.

"Though the hierarchy of the council has to be respected, it is important to understand that the student council, at the end of the day, is a group of students formed in order to maintain peace among the students. We are in no way an organization, where its members have to... revere their leaders."

Victoria intentionally stressed the last part of her statement so as to remind Leon that the academy wasn’t his house.

Ashlyn just slightly nodded her head at Victoria’s words, though she made no effort to add anything to it.

Leon on his part couldn’t help but give an amused chuckle.

"That’s why I like you... Vicky."

Leon’s words earned some gasps from the audience, though none dared to comment on it.

Victoria, on her part, had her eyes narrowed, as she felt disgusted while being called by such a name.
