"Stop shooting arrows," he commanded, his voice booming. "It is useless."

This time, his voice was localized so only the people on the Avarice side could hear him.

But across the plains, the Oresfall army immediately noticed the change. The endless volley of arrows had completely stopped. Even though it brought a quick surge of relief to the front lines, they didn’t break formation. They just continued their steady, relentless march forward.

But before they could cover too much ground, the main gates of the Avarice fortress suddenly opened.

Thousands of Avarice soldiers poured out of the stronghold.

While Adrian’s army marched forward at a steady, disciplined pace, the Avarice soldiers just recklessly charged. They ran at full sprint toward the Oresfall lines.

Adrian immediately noticed something strange about their formation. They had no cavalry support.

Even though Adrian was stationed at the very front lines, he didn’t immediately join Draven and the vanguard to clash head-on with the charging horde. Instead, he jogged over to the right flank and simply watched as the two massive armies violently crashed into each other.

His eyes were glued onto the so-called Apostle of Iron and Steel.

Even though they were incredibly far away from each other across the chaotic battlefield, their eyes were locked.

The two new S-rank knights, Kaelen and Zara, were standing right beside him. Aria was still comfortably sitting on his shoulders.

Adrian gently lifted Aria off his shoulders and set her down on the ground.

"I want you to stay right here," Adrian said, looking down at his daughter. "You must put up your mana shield right now. Your only job is to keep your eyes glued on that white-robed guy over there. Inform me immediately using a mana thread if he makes any sort of move."

He crouched down slightly to meet her height level.

"You are my eyes from now on," Adrian told her seriously. "I will be busy fighting."

Aria nodded firmly. "Yes, Papa. I will keep an eye out for you."

She immediately threw her arms around his neck, hugged him tight, and planted a quick kiss on his cheek.

"Take care, Papa," she whispered.

Adrian nodded. He stood up straight and gave a sharp look to Kaelen and Zara, ensuring they were ready to guard her, before he turned and jumped directly into the battlefield.

He activated his dungeon link mid-air.

Four sleek steel chakrams materialized out of thin air, spinning rapidly around his body, but he wasn’t going all out just yet.

While he was still mid-leap, his sleek, custom-fitted combat armor materialized piece by piece, locking seamlessly into place around his body. It was much lighter and sleeker than the plate armor his soldiers were wearing, but it was also much more durable thanks to the multiple layers of advanced defensive enchantments that had been carved into the armor.

His mithril-iron staff snapped into his right hand just before his boots hit the ground.

He didn’t stop moving. He took another massive leap using gust, covering even more distance than his first jump. Riding on the sheer momentum of the fall, he accelerated and crashed into the side of the Avarice army.

He swung his staff horizontally the second he landed, smacking an Avarice soldier straight in the side of the head.

The man instantly folded and dropped to the ground, completely unconscious.

Adrian barely even registered the kill. He was already thinking about his next move.

A standard-issue magic rifle suddenly materialized in the air floating right beside his shoulder.

BANG!

A loud, cracking gunshot echoed over the clash of swords.

Adrian watched as the bullet slammed squarely into the chest of an approaching Avarice soldier. But the bullet didn’t pierce the armor. It just flattened against the metal chest plate and fell harmlessly into the dirt.

Adrian chuckled behind his helmet.

It was the exact same projectile-nullification enchantment he had designed for his own soldiers’ shields, but the Avarice mages clearly had a much weaker version of it for their personal armor. Though, Adrian’s own was in fact inspired by the soldiers of Avarice but his dungeon just gave him a huge advantage when it came to things like these.

Adrian flicked his wrist, sending his four chakrams straight into the enemy ranks.

’Their armor actually has to get hit by the projectile first to stop the momentum,’ Adrian analyzed as he fought. ’Meanwhile, my shields can actively stop the arrows in mid-air a few centimeters away from the actual armor.’

He nodded to himself in satisfaction as he watched his chakrams cleanly slice right through the enchanted Avarice armor, cutting deep into the soldiers’ flesh.

’So that anti-projectile enchantment is literally only useful against bullets and arrows,’ Adrian muttered to himself. ’Because my chakrams definitely have kinetic energy too. Or maybe they don’t? I don’t really know the in-depth physics on how telekinesis interacts with velocity enchantments, but whatever. At least slicing stuff still works perfectly fine.’

He went deeper into the enemy formation.

He used his chakrams to effortlessly butcher the soldiers trying to flank him from the sides and behind, leaving his staff to deal with the enemies charging at his front. It was a seamless, efficient way of fighting that only he was used to.

Suddenly, a desperate Avarice soldier dashed straight at Adrian from the front, thrusting a heavy iron spear directly at his chest.

Adrian didn’t even bother dodging.

He just stood there and watched the man’s expression rapidly shift through multiple emotions. First, it was a look of pure, triumphant happiness and surprise that his attack had actually managed to hit the enemy commander.

But that triumph instantly melted into sheer disbelief.

The heavy spear tip didn’t even scratch the metal on Adrian’s sleek armor. It just bounced off the enchanted metal with a dull metallic clink.

Adrian just shook his head in disappointment.

"Even if this was just a regular set of plate armor, your spear wouldn’t have been able to do anything, bro."
