Chapter 872: Circle of Eternal Life (3)
’It comes from within us Writers. It is what grants our worlds shape, structure, and form... like constructing a human body. Bones, flesh, skin, organs... all of them are built through Aether.’
With another wave of his hand, Frey drew forth even more power, increasing the speed of his movements.
’Aura, meanwhile, is the force of life itself. It is the blood that moves those worlds and keeps them alive. When the two are combined... a world is born.’
"Using Aether, I can reconstruct perfect bodies. Bodies identical to the ones they possessed at the peak of their lives... living vessels of flesh and blood capable of receiving their souls once more."
"With this power... I can save them."
"I can save them all."
Every single person who had died upon Planet Earth had been preserved thanks to Nameless’ manipulation of life and death.
And now... the time had come to bring them all back.
Before the eyes of Alexander, Shiva, and Maskith... a miracle unfolded.
A miracle no one within the material world could replicate besides Frey himself.
A multicolored mist spread outward from him, wrapping around the wandering souls of the dead.
One by one, their bodies were reconstructed and returned to this world... restoring their lives alongside them.
Humans returned one after another.
Their ancient heroes returned.
The warriors of the Shadow Sect returned.
The students of the Temple returned, alongside old friends long thought gone forever.
Even the Ultras warriors who had followed Frey and fought beside the Empire were restored.
Then came those whose resurrection demanded far more effort than the others.
The Dragon Emperor... Kalameet.
The Shadow Sect warriors Fulghor and Adir.
Adir, whose true body had finally been restored after enduring existence within a broken vessel incapable of battle.
The Second Coming of the First Lord of Light... Snow.
Pure Vessel.
Among the survivors, the Great One of Earth also returned through Dawn.
And Sieghart returned alongside him, both of them having been included within the Formation of Life and Death since they had died within its range... fortunate beyond words.
And finally... Abraham Starlight returned as well.
One after another, they fell to the ground in stunned disbelief and terror alike.
Many unconsciously touched the soil beneath them.
Others reached for their own faces and bodies, unable to believe what they were feeling.
"I don’t understand... didn’t we die?"
"Didn’t the Demon King kill us?"
The elite students stared at one another in shock, unable to comprehend what had happened.
Even the strongest among them remained silent for several long moments, completely lost.
Death was supposed to be an experience lived only once.
Yet today... Frey had granted them the chance to face it again in the future.
Everyone struggled to accept what had happened.
Everyone... except Abraham Starlight.
He regained his senses faster than anyone else.
Sweat covered his face as panic overtook him.
But it was not death that terrified him.
Nor his encounter with the Demon King Agaroth.
No.
His fear had never been for himself.
Only for his family.
His eyes searched frantically everywhere for them.
His hair had become pure white now, and he looked several years older than the last time he had appeared.
In truth, he was the only one who had returned differently from before.
And that was something Frey had intentionally done.
Abraham searched desperately... until finally he spotted the person carrying his blood in the distance.
Without hesitation, he ran toward him at full speed.
He ran toward Frey, ignoring everything else in existence.
Frey saw him coming as well.
Slowly and calmly, he removed his mask, revealing his face to one of the people he had cherished most throughout both his past life and his current one.
The man who had always been there for him.
In every life.
"Welcome back, Father."
The moment Abraham reached him, Frey embraced him lightly.
A simple embrace... yet one carrying more meaning than words could ever express.
It was the very first embrace since Frey had regained his complete self and fully understood what Abraham truly was to him.
Abraham was still overwhelmed and confused, yet he gently patted his son’s back before the two separated and looked at one another.
Frey remained calm and steady.
Abraham, meanwhile, was visibly shaken and anxious.
"Frey... my son..."
"It’s alright, Father."
"Everything is fine now. The battle is over."
Abraham fell silent for a moment, trying to process everything that had happened.
The Demon King was gone.
Everyone had somehow returned to life.
But none of that was what truly occupied his mind.
"Ada..."
"Ada, Frey..."
Abraham grabbed Frey by the shoulders, desperately asking about the one person he could not find anywhere.
Frey smiled faintly and slowly raised his hand.
"She’s here, Father."
"She’s with me."
Within Frey’s palm, a strange light formed.
A warm and familiar light.
"What... is this?" Abraham asked in shock.
Frey answered quietly.
"This is her soul."
"Ada’s soul."
Those words only deepened Abraham’s confusion.
"Then why...?"
"Why did all of us return while she didn’t?"
"What exactly is happening, my son...? I don’t understand."
He was overwhelmed.
And Frey understood that perfectly.
"I chose not to bring her back yet, Father."
As he spoke, Frey concealed Ada’s soul once more before lifting his gaze toward the heavens above.
Abraham said nothing, but his expression made it painfully clear that he wanted answers.
So Frey gave them to him.
"If I return her now... she will only suffer more tragedies."
"She’ll continue chasing after the backs of her brother and her father... and she’ll suffer for it."
She had only ever been a weak girl.
Born into a family overflowing with monsters.
"This world..." Frey murmured quietly.
"...is utterly broken. Filthy. Unfair."
"Until I build a place worthy of her..."
"A world where my sister Ada can live peacefully..."
"I will keep her with me."
"And I will protect her as part of myself forever."
Turning his gaze back toward Abraham, Frey spoke firmly.
"Come with me, Father."
"Help me build it."
"A world where Ada can live without fearing for her life... and without constantly comparing herself to the rest of her family."
"I’m leaving Earth."
"This will be my final hour here."
"I’ll walk the path I carved out with my own hands."
"And I’ll need you beside me, Father."
Frey extended the invitation to his father, wanting him beside him on the journey ahead.
Abraham still did not fully understand the situation.
He was still confused.
But he did not hesitate even for a second when such a request came from his son.
"My place is with you, my son."
"I will walk beside you... always."
