’When that happens, won’t he notice I’m a fraud?’

As this thought crossed Ethan’s mind, he couldn’t help but pause.

For a second, his mind began to race as he realised he needed to get stronger.

Fast.

As soon as possible, because given the current situation with traitors all around him,

The Federation already out for heroes,

And all kinds of villains hidden in the dark,

It wouldn’t be surprising if after being exposed for being weaker, he was suddenly assassinated in the middle of the night.

Knowing this, he quickly calmed his nerves as he returned Solaris’ words with a smile.

"All right, break through level 5, maybe then you can have a chance."

"That’s only if I haven’t broken through level six by then!"

"Haha!"

Laughing much like the former Imperion would, he walked over to where Lilith was with a smile in his eyes.

"Well then since it’s settled on who’s going, I take it that the meeting’s over!"

"In that case Lilith, let’s go to the company, I have another interview there, remember?"

"I’m sure those reporters would also like to know the state of the city."

Not giving anyone a chance to reply, Ethan pulled Lilith up, putting his hands around her waist.

He had decided to leave this place as soon as possible to avoid his cover being blown.

And Lilith, sensing Ethan’s hand around her waist, couldn’t help but blush.

"Ethan what’s with you today, haha, have you forgotten I can also fly?"

However, despite saying this, the smile on her face could not be hidden.

A scene Ethan had already expected.

In the original novel, it was clear that Lilith and Imperion had feelings for each other from the start of the novel.

Unfortunately, due to how chaotic everything was, only at the end did they realise those feelings.

Feelings that neither of them could fully enjoy as not long after confirming it with each other, she died in his arms.

Now reborn in this body, one of the first things he decided to do was not let her feelings down.

’Don’t worry Lilith! This time things would be different.’

As he thought this, a strange feeling seemed to rise within his chest.

For a split second he felt light, as if he had become more integrated into the world.

’Is this the obsession of the former Imperion? It seems even after death, Lilith still holds weight in his heart.’

Talking to himself, Ethan grabbed her waist tighter and laughed.

"Haha! I haven’t forgotten! However, if I can fly with someone as beautiful as you? Why not?"

"Crescent Moon, Solaris, Tempest!"

"Traitors! Friends and Foe!"

"All of you get stronger, as the coming era requires all of your strengths!"

Boom!

Giving one last loud laugh, Imperion shot up with Lilith in his hands, breaking through the headquarters roof.

A move which left a minority of the league twitching at the corner of their lips.

"....."

For a while, no one knew what to say, as they kept staring at the roof.

It wasn’t until about five minutes later that Crescent Moon finally opened his mouth.

"Traitors huh.."

"It seems the twelve of us have really changed.."

Talking to the rest of the team, Crescent Moon finally spoke, his eyes thinking of Imperion’s figure as he left.

"Change....."

........

[New Geneva, Nexus Corp]

Flying through the sky, with Lilith in his arms, before heading to Nexus Corp, they both took a quick tour of the city.

By now a few hours had passed since the initial attacks and all the monsters had been subdued and defeated.

And although he sensed a few casualties, the overall destruction and death was still in a controllable range.

’Damn Federation! I don’t know why we even let them establish such a thing after the war!’

’If we knew such a thing would happen, then I would have personally ended their lives back then."

"What representative of regular people, they’re just parasites sucking on the blood of innocents."

"Harming the very people they claim to protect. Be it pushing away their very own protectors or saviors of humanity."

"That group of bastards would do anything to maintain their position."

Scrolling through her phone, Lilith saw all kinds of articles condemning superheroes for ignoring the lives of regular people and causing destruction of the city.

Claims on how unregulated superheroes are no different from villains and the superhero act would be for the greater good of the people.

Articles and comments, no doubt the handiwork of the Federation.

"Shameless ingrates, don’t let me be available during the D-Day because I’ll personally slaughter half of them myself."

"Let them feel even a fraction of what those ordinary people they exploited felt."

As she said this, Lilith frowned as she put away her phone, noticing they were already near their headquarters.

A few kilometers away from them, a huge thirty-story skyscraper with an all-black translucent tower stood overlooking the whole city.

This was Nexus Corp, the company owned by Ethan in this world.

A company which was involved in all major walks of life in New Geneva, from architecture to medicine, to even places like orphanages.

Now heading back to his company, Ethan noticed a group of reporters had already swarmed his company entrance.

It seemed they were more eager to interview him after the city’s attack.

They needed to know the situation of their guardians’ minds.

"Lilith, it’s fine.."

"Don’t think about those Federation guys right now, after all the past can’t be changed, rather we can only work towards a better future."

"If they do keep testing us like this, I don’t mind paying them a visit personally to give them a greeting."

He paused, floating calmly in the sky with her in his hand.

"This time it was on such a small scale because they were afraid of getting us angry."

"However I’m sure even they know they can’t afford to test us again."

"And once Crescent Moon’s plan works, and we find out the hidden villains who can take abilities and the Dr. lab who is in charge of creating those mutant abominations."

"Everything will work out."

Wearing a smile on his face, Ethan’s shoulders straightened as he looked at the crowd below him with a wide grin stretched across his face.

"Now calm your mind, and come with me! We have an interview to attend!"

Descending from the air, Ethan slowly landed in the middle of the reporters in front of his office.
