The World's Greatest Hero Is Actually a Villain?
Chapter 24: Protagonist Skill?[New Geneva, East wing]
Time soon passed. And while Ethan was currently flying towards the arrest, the situation there was rapidly heating up.
"Free him!"
"Justice for Justice!"
"Arrest villains not heroes!"
Hundreds of people yelled all kinds of slogans, as they circled the scene.
In their middle, four police officers, wearing all-blue Fedeation uniforms with batons and shields, stood as they held a golden armored young man in cuffs.
"Stand back all of you! You are hindering Fedeation law."
"This suspect is someone who used his powers illegally without permission or any passes."
"If you continue to disrupt, then I’ll have no choice but arrest all of yo-!"
"Ack!"
Just as the officer was about to finish talking, a tomato was suddenly tossed from the middle of the crowd, blasting him in the face.
"Oh fuck off, you Fedeation dog! When we were getting harassed and killed by those monsters why didn’t you arrest them?"
"Leave the kid alone, and go find something to do and don’t bother real heroes!"
Taking the stage of the protesters, an old man with a cane stepped forward, with another tomato in hand.
Not only that, but seeing an old man like that so active, other protesters began to look for things to throw too, as they couldn’t be outdone.
For a long time, although people harbored some resentment against the destruction caused by heroes, it was a somewhat recognized consensus that it was for the greater good.
As regular people, they knew what would happen if this young man got arrested, that meant if any other villain attack happened there would be no hero nearby?
How could they possibly accept that?
For their safety, for their family’s safety, they absolutely could not allow the Fedeation officers to take Justice away.
For a while everywhere became tense, as both sides seemed ready to strike, about to engage in a fierce melee.
Reporters held their cameras up, broadcasting this to their various channels.
It could be said that the eyes of the whole world were paying attention to here, as those in higher places knew this wasn’t a simple arrest.
It was actually the federation’s scheme, to ingrain the possibility of superhero control and arrests into the public’s mind for the superhero act they want to enact.
If Arthur was arrested today, then they would have made a huge leap forward.
This was something that all heroes and villains watching this knew.
Even Arthur in cuffs, although a kid, knew what was going on.
However neither he nor any other hero could do anything, as they couldn’t afford to turn faces with Fedeation just yet.
Otherwise the world would fall into chaos.
Knowing this, Arthur who had been silent all this while, sighed as he stepped up in front of the police officer with a smile.
"Stop! Everyone it’s fine!"
"I know you mean well, and I’m more than honored that you all came for me today, but this isn’t how things should go."
He turned to the officer who had just gotten a tomato thrown on him and gave a bow of apology, before turning back to the angry mob.
"Everyone, do you really believe that I as a hero should dodge the law just because I feel like I’ve been wronged?"
"If that’s the case, then what’s the difference between me and a villain?"
"Even if I have been wronged, but then so what? Even if I’m still a high school student."
"Even if I’m still a kid, there’s one thing I’m sure of, and it’s the very reason I picked my name."
"And it’s that Justice will always prevail!"
"So don’t feel bad for me, and don’t try to obstruct it, hahah!"
"Before you know it I’ll be out in the blink of an eye!"
Still shining from ear to ear, Arthur’s words hit everyone like an arrow.
In a trance they seemed to see him back then when he fought that level 2 monster with his level 1 strength.
They saw his bloody unyielding body take blow after blow as he struggled to protect them.
Indeed Justice always prevails, and just like it prevailed then, it will continue to prevail even in a situation such as this!
"Silence..."
For a while everyone kept silent as both the protesters and the police didn’t expect him to suddenly say such a thing.
However after thinking about it for a while, they realised if Arthur wanted to escape there was really nothing they could do as regular handcuffs could easily be broken by him.
And he alone could easily kill all of them.
Thinking of this, every police officer suddenly shivered, wait, what if he was meant to break out of it?
Could it be that they were sent as sacrifices to make heroes seem dangerous and turn people against them?
Thinking of how the federation works, these officers all came to a similar conclusion in their minds.
Had it not been for Arthur’s character, they’d all probably be bloody paste.
Knowing this, even they looked at the young hero with gratitude.
And in the sky, watching all this happen, Ethan who had arrived a few minutes ago couldn’t help but curl his lips.
"As expected of the protagonist, just a few words from him and he’s already made both sides love him."
"However. This just proves how much I need to get him on my side."
"If I make the protagonist my lackey, wouldn’t that be a good plot?"
Talking to himself, a somewhat mischievous smile appeared on his face as he thought of a plan.
Even though he was several hundred meters in the air, Ethan’s gaze still pierced through the skies and could see everything.
Every cop, every reporter, every protester.
Noticing that they had all calmed down and they were about to leave and Arthur was about to successfully be arrested,
He knew this was his time to act.
Boom!
Appearing at almost supersonic speeds, not only was he going to arrive and stop them,
But he was going to arrive in style!
