The Nail-Head Seven Arrows Scripture was a cursed artifact that ignored distance and power gaps, guaranteeing death to anyone it cursed.

Of course, Nemo couldn’t possibly possess such a powerful artifact. But empowered by the corruption, he could still unleash a portion of its effects and make Duan Fei suffer.

He took out a miniature bow and arrow from his backpack. Made of peach wood, they should have been able to ward off evil, but after Nemo’s series of alterations, they had transformed into a bona fide cursed item.

Originally, Curses were a type of Skill that wasn’t very powerful but inflicted numerous negative effects.

But corruption altered the original purpose of items and Skills. Because of the massive amount of corruption in his body, Nemo’s Curses had also changed, becoming far more dangerous and bizarre.

The miniature arrow shot out. Carrying a power that belied its appearance, it viciously pierced through Duan Fei’s left wrist joint, leaving only the fletching visible on the other side.

For Duan Fei, it manifested as a sharp pain in his arm. Something had pierced his left wrist, inflicting a bleeding status effect.

The protective measures in *Abyss* were excellent. Not only was gore and violence pixelated, but there was also a cap on pain.

For instance, even though blood was gushing dramatically from the wound, to Duan Fei, the pain was merely like an intern nurse accidentally hitting an artery while giving him a shot.

Hearing blood splatter on the ground, Hyena glanced at the wound. His bionic eye immediately assessed Duan Fei’s condition, and he said, "We need to amputate."

"Don’t! Let’s seek help from the mysterious East instead."

"You’d better be talking about the geographical East, and not me!" Yan Yuan roared.

They immediately drew some blood from Yan Yuan. Smearing the Phoenix blood on the wound caused it to improve slightly.

However, a large amount of corruption seeped out from the injury, causing the wound to turn black.

If it weren’t for Yan Yuan’s blood, the wound would have started to rot long ago.

As Anna continued to sprint while carrying him, Duan Fei decisively contacted Lone Ranger via private message. "You still alive?"

"Is that how you people say hello?"

"No, I’m under attack. The assailant is another player who uses something like a Curse. I figured since I have more people on my side and you’re alone, I’d check if you were still alive first."

Lone Ranger was surprised Duan Fei had been so considerate, and he suddenly felt like a bit of an ass.

Hiding in the shadows, he let the giant mechanical centipede roam outside as he whispered, "I’m alive, but I’m trapped for the moment. The mechanical centipede counters my abilities, but it can’t get to me, either."

"That’s strange. Why attack me instead of you? If our enemy is thinking rationally, they’d know the best move is to take you out first."

Lone Ranger also found it strange.

After getting the details of what Duan Fei had been through, he said, "This is probably a Profession that specializes in Curses, or a build focused on them. I know of a few."

"And if you factor in that they have a grudge against me?"

"Then there’s only one person it could be: Nemo. I’ve gathered some intel on him. He’s a Puppet Master, but lately, he’s been buying up bizarre items, many of them related to Curses."

"If it’s Nemo, that explains why he’s targeting me. That guy is so damn petty. So I wiped out his guild, stole his permanent dungeon, and killed him twice. Big deal. He’s the one who still owes me back pay."

Lone Ranger was left speechless by Duan Fei’s message. "Are you even listening to yourself?"

"That’s not important. What’s important is how to get rid of him. I suspect he’s already teamed up with Luminous Heavy Industry."

"Agreed." Lone Ranger nodded.

The power of a Curse was a function of its casting difficulty, multiplied by the caster’s own power, and multiplied again by the severity of its backlash.

In other words, the greater the casting difficulty, the more powerful the caster, and the more severe the established backlash, the stronger the final Curse.

’Judging by the situation,’ Duan Fei thought, ’Nemo is probably hiding in a surveillance room, watching me and gloating over my injuries.’

Just as Duan Fei was thinking, he felt a sharp pain in his right arm.

A wound appeared on his right arm, symmetrical to the one on his left. It too began to rot rapidly, looking as if it might sever at any moment.

’Nemo, you’re forcing my hand.’

Making his Glasses invisible, Duan Fei told his companions to close their eyes immediately. Then, he looked toward the surveillance cameras all around them.

Pitch-black Eyes of the Void appeared on the monitors. Everyone in the surveillance room saw Duan Fei’s Eyes of the Void and instantly plunged into Chaos and madness.

Those eyes seemed to have emerged from Hell itself. The pure madness and malice they radiated brought anyone who saw them to the brink of mental collapse, causing them to fall to their knees and scream in agony.

Amidst the chorus of screams, Nemo frowned.

He, too, felt the influence of the Void, its malice and madness, but his reaction wasn’t nearly as intense as the others’.

The corruption and the power from the Pseudo-man leader—the Succubus—had formed a barrier around his Spirit.

The attack through the screen merely made him feel unsettled; it wasn’t enough to drive him completely mad.

Just as he prepared to fire the third arrow, something unexpected happened.

One of the staff members screaming on the floor suddenly leaped up, rushed to the door, snatched a guard’s weapon, and opened fire on Nemo without hesitation.

The man’s aim was poor; he emptied the entire clip without hitting Nemo, but he did manage to destroy the monitor behind him, causing the screen to go black instantly.

Ducking behind the others, Nemo stared at the staff member who had suddenly gone berserk and asked with a frown, "Duan Someone?"

Tossing aside the empty gun, the staff member sighed in resignation. ’My aim is still a little too sloppy.’

Knowing his opportunity was lost, he grinned at Nemo. "That’s right."

These were new Skills Duan Fei had just acquired through his Void Glasses: Void Sense and Descent of the Void.

When people nearby were driven mad by his eyes, he could sense their location.

And once someone he sensed had succumbed completely to the madness, he could temporarily possess them, controlling their body for a short time.

Both were new Skills created from the fusion of Void and summoning abilities. They weren’t especially practical, but right now, they were perfect.

Duan Fei didn’t have much time. After confirming Nemo could no longer see them, he spoke with a laugh, "Guild Leader Nemo, long time no see. I still have that video of you. Want to watch it together?"

"Don’t try to provoke me. I’m not who I used to be."

"Well, are you interested in shooting a new video with us? If we work together this time, we can definitely create a viral hit! We’ll call it ’Furious Cyber Bride: Guild Leader Nemo’s Second Transformation’."

"I’ll kill you! Duan Someone, I swear I am going to kill you!"
