"Usually wakes up in the afternoon around this time," the nurse said with a smile, then tidied up and left.

Aurelia Shaw noticed a book on the table, it’s halfway read; she picked it up and sat down to read it. Every hour the nurse came in to change the medicine, Aurelia would put down the book, change the medicine, and continue reading.

This went on until past four in the afternoon. Aurelia checked the time, got up, returned the book to its original place, and left after closing the door.

Just as she stepped outside, Aurelia’s phone rang, a call from Mason Nightshade.

"Where are you?" Mason asked succinctly. In a place Aurelia couldn’t see, his brows furrowed deeply, and his fingers gripping the phone taut.

He had just called the old manor, and the servants told him she hadn’t gone out.

He knew he shouldn’t have let her be alone; he should keep her close at all times to ensure she never left his sight, never losing track of her.

"I’m at the hospital." Aurelia waited for the elevator door to open and walked inside. There was another person behind her who seemed familiar, but she didn’t think much of it.

Mason’s brow furrowed even tighter, "Why didn’t you tell me you were going to the hospital? Did Grandpa do anything to you?"

"Grandpa cherishes me the most, what could he do?" Aurelia asked, pretending to be indifferent.

Mason smoothly responded, "When you’re sick, moods are never good. Didn’t you love acting cute around me when you were ill? I’m just afraid you might get upset at Grandpa’s place."

His answer was seemingly flawless.
