Top Tier Perversion: Dual Cultivate Secretly
Chapter 105: The Regressor’s MightAnastasia moved first.
Her sword’s blade shone as she rushed past Vincent toward Celeste. She was not aiming at the woman herself, but moving toward the stone beneath the cliff.
A loud screech came from above.
Several winged monsters dropped through the trees and attacked her before she reached it. One had dark metallic growth covering most of its head while another had mutated patches running along one wing.
Anastasia was forced away from the cliff as more cries came from above.
Vincent raised his axe and went after her.
The first monster fell, and Anastasia was already dealing with the others.
"Young master!" she shouted while moving between them. "Make her stand! Do not attack her directly!"
"On it!" Vincent changed direction.
He saw Anastasia could deal with the monsters and didn’t need his help, then gave him a task, and he had enough trust in her judgment to not doubt her and quickly did as she asked.
Vincent was running toward Celeste now.
The woman remained seated near the cliff edge in her flowing purple robes. She had an unusually calm expression, but was internally thinking over Anastasia’s words.
’How does she know?’
Celeste did not turn toward Anastasia. Karma was restricting her and she wouldn’t be able to get near as long as Celeste remained seated.
But, Celeste couldn’t help but glance sideways at the approaching Vincent.
How was he not restricted? There were an inexhaustible amount of beasts in these highlands and they should’ve attacked him, but they weren’t.
The anomaly made her brows knit slightly.
Vincent quickly reached Celeste and stopped a few meters from her.
He held the axe with both hands and pointed it at her.
"Stand up."
He tried being diplomatic first.
Celeste stared at him for a few seconds and didn’t respond.
Vincent stopped forcing diplomacy and immediately called the system in his mind.
’System, Vanessa. Same ability as last time.’
[Chaotic Fate Resonance activated.]
[Subject: Vanessa D’Arc.]
[Borrowed Ability: Adversity Ascension.]
[Physical output increases in accordance with the danger and disadvantage faced by the user.]
[Misfortune Acquired.]
[You have been cursed with biting your tongue every few sentences for the next twenty four hours.]
[Sudden Incompetence Acquired.]
[You have forgotten how to tie shoelaces.]
Vincent ignored the system’s lines and focused on the connection forming inside his soul and disappearing into the distance. He could tell that it was unrelated to karma.
Far away in Copper Town, Vanessa felt something tug at her soul.
Her spear stopped for only an instant.
Then she continued fighting.
Back in the Highlands, strength spread through Vincent’s body.
Celeste was far stronger than him. The monsters around them only made the situation worse, and the ability responded accordingly.
Vincent remembered what happened the last time he used Fate Resonance.
’Don’t give me that much.’
[The Host controls the degree of overdraw.]
’Good.’
The Martial Memory surfaced.
He knew only one proper movement with an axe, but he knew that one very well.
The village.
The mountain.
The grip.
The turn of the waist.
Vincent raised the axe and the strike seemed to be in Celeste’s direction.
Celeste watched him calmly.
The moment Vincent’s attack touched her would be the moment he would form a karmic connection with her. The world would restrict him just as it restricted the blonde lady with him.
Vincent performed the slash, but at the last moment, the blade was lowered.
Celeste’s gaze followed the axe’s movement.
A thin white line crossed the stone beneath Celeste.
Her expression changed as she realized what he had done.
She immediately raised one hand toward Vincent.
A heavy force struck him in the chest.
"Goddamn!"
Vincent felt a sharp pain and was thrown backward. He hit the ground, but a line had already crossed the entire outer section of the cliff.
Crack!
The rock beneath Celeste split from the mountainside.
She moved the moment it began falling away.
Her feet left the lotus position and she pushed herself toward the stable slope below.
At the same time, the pressure surrounding the area disappeared.
Anastasia killed the last monster bothering her and rushed toward the cliff.
"Don’t let her sit again, young master!" She shouted while jumping from the cliff.
turning once in air to be in a proper attacking state.
Vincent raised his head in time to see her turn once in the air before dropping toward Celeste in an attacking stance.
He found this backflip really cool, he wouldn’t lie.
Anastasia landed a short distance away.
Her sword shifted beside her body.
Celeste recognized neither the stance nor the technique, but something about Anastasia’s certainty bothered her far more than the sword itself.
"Returning Heaven Sword Art."
Anastasia stepped forward in an almost perfect practiced motion.
"Fourth Form: Severing Sky."
Her sword traced an arc from Celeste to the sky above, as if she really wanted to split heaven and earth!
The air around the slope suddenly changed.
A loud boom resounded as the sword finished its final movement.
The trees and the grass swayed intensely against the strong wind current.
Anastasia’s black clothes and blonde hair were thrown backward while Celeste’s loose purple robes moved violently around her.
A pale line appeared above Anastasia’s sword.
It continued upward for several meters.
Away from her, Vincent suddenly got a notification.
[Your Lover Anastasia has perfectly retraced one of the strongest sword movements.]
[Your Lover Anastasia has attacked an enemy with 100x amplified strength.]
Back at the bottom of the cliff.
Celeste’s defensive treasure reacted before the sword attack reached her.
Violet light covered her body as Severing Sky struck.
The barrier shook violently.
For several seconds neither side gave way.
Then a crack appeared.
Another followed, and immediately, Celeste’s robes tore along her shoulder and side as some of the force passed through. Her hair came loose and the ground beneath her feet broke apart.
The violet protection shattered, and the treasure hidden beneath her clothes cracked fully.
Celeste was pushed backward before managing to stop herself.
Her hand briefly touched the broken treasure beneath her robes.
’...what?’ she was in disbelief.
How could a Crest Formation cultivator destroy a Transcendent treasure?
This treasure was two major realms above the person’s rank, beyond the confines of mortal strength.
Celeste had trouble understanding such a thing and a deep frown was on her face as she looked at Anastasia now.
Anastasia did not give her much time to react any more than this.
She moved again, but her right arm trembled slightly when she raised the sword this time. Her breathing was much heavier than before as the technique had placed a toll on her body, but she could still fight.
She could use the same attack twice, but it was not feasible anymore, so she shifted to attack normally.
Celeste was not as strong when she was standing, and also likely did not have another strong treasure to protect her.
Away from Anastasia, Vincent got many notifications again.
[Your Lover Anastasia’s Heart has strengthened.]
[Your Lover Anastasia has comprehended deeper meaning within the Great Dao of Palimpsest.]
[Your Lover Anastasia’s Soul has strengthened.]
[Your Lover Anastasia’s cultivation has increased.]
’Nice.’
Vincent thought while looking down the cliff from the edge.
Anastasia and Celeste could be seen fighting at the bottom.
They were so far down that it was definitely a stupid idea to descend to join the fight.
Firstly, one slip could lead Vincent to his death. Secondly, he wouldn’t make it in time.
These two reasons would be enough to stop any sane person.
But Vincent...
’If I can’t descend from a simple cliff and help my girl, what type of man would I be?’
’I’ve got the balls! I can do it! If I can’t, then I’m better off without balls becoming a femboy!’
Vincent was done with the war cry in his heart and began descending down the cliff.
He may not know that femboys actually have their balls intact, but the spirit is what matters anyway.
Vincent got through the first section, but the fight at the bottom was getting more intense and made him frown.
At this pace, he would reach them after the fight was already over.
’Damn, if only I had a rope...’
The moment Vincent thought of this, he realized he was wearing a belt.
He could use the belt as his rope, but then he once again realized...
’Ah! This isn’t a normal belt!’
His hand went toward his waist and he pulled off the Wayfarer’s Belt he got from rolling the previous event’s rewards.
’System, this thing stretches infinitely, right? How do I make it stretch? And it won’t break, right?’
[The Host can will the length and the rope is extremely durable for a mortal treasure.]
’Mortal treasure? Are there better belts or immortal treasures too?’
[Yes, but the system cannot talk about them due to insufficient cultivation of the Host.]
[The system suggests the Host focuses on the ongoing fight first.]
’Tch. Tell me whatever more you can about the belt. Don’t withhold information.’
[The Wayfarer’s Belt responds to the Host’s intent. The Host may control its extension and retraction.]
[The system only has this basic description and information will be updated as the Host interacts more with the treasure for future reference.]
Vincent looked at the belt and then felt really annoyed by the system once again.
This thing really was useless, but Vincent had gotten tired of cursing it about it. He needed newer insults.
’That can wait. For now...’
He looped it around thick tree roots and held both ends tightly, then began descending.
The belt lengthened as Vincent willed it to. He controlled the speed while his boots repeatedly scraped against the cliff and his axe hit the rock beside him twice.
It was not pleasant, but it was fast, and Vincent quickly reached the bottom.
He held one end of the belt and began pulling it, willing it to shorten and in no time, a normal-sized belt was in his hands.
’Good thing. Much more useful than the system.’
[...]
Vincent began running toward Anastasia and Celeste while coiling the belt around his hand. It would definitely be useful in combat too!
Celeste and Anastasia had shifted to fight between the trees.
As a Transcendent cultivator, Celeste’s every attack struck hard enough to make many bones crack.
But Anastasia’s sword technique and her Palimpsest amplification allowed her to dodge and continue to engage in a fight.
Celeste was not a strong combatant like Vanessa. Her biggest power was sitting and letting Karma and Fate do the work.
In fact, fighting and not being able to overpower a second mortal rank cultivator already made her understand her own shortcomings, but Celeste would’ve never been able to predict such a situation would ever arise.
A normal Crest Formation cultivator would’ve died by now, but Anastasia was not a normal one.
By the cultivation world’s standards, she couldn’t even be classified as genius Crest Formation cultivator because —
She was a monster.
An entity above even the loved children of Heaven and Earth!
Celeste herself was a similar monster but she did not possess the experience of five lifetimes or a strong attack amplification.
She was weak when she was standing.
She had to sit.
The moment she sits is the moment it’s over for everyone with even a single karmic thread.
Everyone’s destiny would shift to an eventual doom, and the unbiased Fate itself would manipulate the karmic threads to ensure such an end is met.
Celeste hurried to find an opening and sit down, but Anastasia just wasn’t allowing her to.
One sword strike passed across Celeste’s defense, and Anastasia repeated the same movement.
The second attack hit with a tenfold intensity and forced Celeste several steps backward.
Celeste stepped to the side and then closed the distance, attacking with her palm to Anastasia’s shoulder.
"You knew I had to stand," she said while being a few meters away.
Anastasia moved away from the strike and came back from the side.
Celeste blocked the sword with her forearm. It did not have the tenfold intensity.
"You knew my defensive treasure," she spoke with a frown.
Anastasia did not answer and performed the same strike Celeste blocked.
BAM!
She tried blocking with her forearm again and was sent a few meters back. A faint numbing sensation could be felt on her forearm now.
Celeste did not pay it any attention and sent a kick toward Anastasia’s ribs.
"Who told you?" She asked.
Anastasia crouched and did an upward slash.
Celeste took a step back.
"I’m not answering you," Anastasia said and stepped back.
"So be it," Celeste stopped asking any more questions. For now.
Her hand moved toward the bracelet around her wrist.
Three violet beads were attached to it.
One went dark.
A powerful force spread from her body, and Anastasia was thrown backward.
Vincent had just entered the area when it reached him as well. He lost his footing and got stuck between two roots.
He tried taking his foot out, and succeeded within a few seconds, however, his shoe was still between the roots.
He picked it up and wore it, but the shoelaces had come undone and he had to tie them.
He stared at the open laces for a second, then frowned.
Away from him, a big battle was going on, but here, Vincent was thinking, ’How the fuck do you do the rabbit ear thing?’
Vincent tried crossing two strings but couldn’t even do them properly.
Time was of essence and he wasn’t here to do trial and error to figure out how to tie laces or wonder if the curse was actually real or it was just him imagining things.
Vincent could see Anastasia was having a hard time and quickly took his shoe off, running toward her with one bare foot.
The run wasn’t fun and made him stagger even without pressure. He quickly took off the other shoe as well and ran toward her.
The ground was mostly soil and grass here.
He could manage.
At this moment, a mutated boar suddenly came through the trees and rushed toward Anastasia.
She turned from Celeste and killed it, but this small interruption was enough.
Using the dark bead’s power, Celeste stomped on the ground and made Anastasia fall into a small crater.
Using this opportunity, she quickly tried to sit down.
"You won’t!"
She heard a shout and had a thin line stretch toward her.
She quickly dodged.
The ground cracked in two.
Celeste frowned and saw a short, goblin-like man running toward her with an axe in hand.
He was breathing heavily.
The one brief moment to stare at her enemy was enough for Anastasia to get up and swing her sword again.
Celeste frowned harder.
Vincent reached Anastasia’s side and said while pointing his axe at Celeste:
"You will not sit!"
