Level Up!
Cam paused at the notifications, the fight with the second patrol of Kawe completely forgotten. While it had gone almost exactly the same as the first, a part of him had already started to ponder how simple the fight had seemed; He knew it wasn't just him or his Mythic Class, but even parties of Epics and Legendaries likely wouldn't have much trouble with the patrols- if they handled it properly. The treehouses- and the Boss- were the real challenges... unless someone was dumb enough to let the patrols raise the alarm, but that was a different story.
But now, with a Level Up in front of him, all those thoughts fled.
"Everything good?"
"More than good." He said, shaking off his surprise to grin at his clone. "We just Leveled! With how focused I was on not letting the patrols alert the rest of the mobs, I kind of forgot how close we were."
"Yeah, same." Eron chuckled, already waving Cam off. "You deal with that and I'll watch for loot."
Nodding in agreement, Cam quickly pulled up his Stats screen; With a plan in mind already, he didn't need to think about how to distribute the newly gained points. Four into Intelligence, Four into Will, and Five into Spirit accounted for all of his Stats for that Level... And brought all of his Stats up to a nice, even 20. For a second, he simply stared in satisfaction at the numbers; Something about having all of them perfectly lined up like that... just felt nice.
The fact that doing so also increased is total Mana, Mana Regen, and the damage his spells could do, even if by a small amount each, just made it better.
"Enough of the smug satisfaction already!" Eron laughed. "It's not like this is our first Level... and hopefully not our last, either!"
"Yeah, I know. But there's just something so satisfying about having all the Stats line up like this..." Waving it off, he quickly subsumed his clone and resummoned him with the updated Stats... Which he didn't even need to think about the simple math to know Eron now had straight 15's in all Stats; Not as good as an Epic or Legendary Classer in their primary Stats, but better than their secondary Stats... But that was both the strength and weakness of his hybrid approach: not as strong up front, but with a lot more flexibility.
"Yeah, it does look nice having them lined up- and it means these fight will be a bit easier... at least until we tackle the treehouses." Eron nodded appreciatively, before his gaze turned thoughtful. "I know you've thought about this too, seeing as we're the same person, but... What happened to everyone saying that climbing alone was a death sentence? I mean, I can see how screwing up would get people killed, but..."
"Yeah, I get it." Cam agreed as he thought on it as well. "But we already covered this! Full clearing the First Floor got us a Level up on the mobs, plus the Mythic Class giving us more Stats and careful planning... While it doesn't feel that tough right now, that's just because we're stacking advantages."

"And if we get surrounded by a bunch of mobs, even being two Levels up on them won't matter..." Eron sighed, trying not to let the feeling of power he got from the increased stats go to his head. "I know a part of me is starting to feel like these mobs aren't that strong... But, thinking about it, their biggest strength is their numbers- and, even individually, they aren't really weak."
"From my guess- and it really is a guess, considering I haven't actually fought with any Classers other than Cole..." Cam said slowly as he let his mind play over the fights. "Is that the Kawe are somewhere around the Rare/Epic area of power. Each one of them should be able to easily take on Common and Uncommon Classers, while having a slight advantage on Rares and a slight disadvantage against Epic..."
"With Legendaries being another step above them... So maybe we were right in our assessment that a Legendary could solo climb if they were smart?" Eron continued the thought for him. "Well, maybe... Fighting one against two isn't just about Stats, and even with the larger gap between them, a Legendary would still take damage fighting a patrol-"
"Unless they were able to almost instantly drop one mob, turning it into a straight up duel." Cam picked up again, still enjoying the feeling of this back and forth with his clone. "So, part of it also comes down to their Class... but, even then, most would still take damage every fight, with the possibility of things going wrong... like more mobs wandering up, or being called over."
"Yeah, I'm not sure even a Legendary could tackle the treehouses solo without a decent risk of things going sideways... unless they were a mage that could just repeatedly AoE bomb the place!"
"Don't forget how the Kawe scattered after taking enough damage from the fire; If they did that against a mage, the Archers and Slingers could definitely get some shots off before they're dropped... and mages don't usually have a high Vitality."
Sharing a look, the man and his clone both grinned before speaking at the same time.
"I think we may be a little over powered..."
For a second, the pair struggled to suppress their laughter, not wanting to do the patrol's job for them and alert the mobs of enemies just waiting for them not that far away. Slowly gaining control of themselves, they shook their heads and spoke in unison once more. "Yeah, no getting killed because we got arrogant over a single Level up."
"We didn't get any faster or stronger this Level, just increased our mental Stats and improved our spell casting a bit... which is still good, as long as we use it right." Cam continued. "With the Big Bunnis, we should have an advantage against the treehouses- as long as we don't get any adds during the fight."
"And as long as we're not idiots." Eron added quickly. "Don't forget that those Archers and Slingers hit for almost a tenth of my total HP each; With Twin Shot, they can drop me with just over five attacks!"
Cam grimaced, his previous elation at their growing power rapidly diminishing; A little over five Twin Shots to drop his clone- assuming he didn't use Iron Skin, of course- meant it would only take seven of them to basically drop him, too... and the treehouses had a pair each of Archers and Slingers.
Was it likely that the enemies would all focus on him and get off enough shots to kill him? No, not really... but that didn't mean it was impossible. And if they accidentally pulled two groups at once? Or more?
Things wouldn't go well for him.
"Ok, we're strong, but not strong enough to be reckless and stupid." He snorted in amusement, as he was basically just saying the same principal he had followed from the beginning: go slow and be careful. Sighing softly, there was more bad news to the whole thing... "And now that we're two Levels up on the Floor, the XP gain will be even slower..."
"Hey, look at the bright side!" Eron laughed. "One more Level and we get our first Perk! I can't wait to see what we're offered!"
