Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 30: Departure After Fifteen Years

"Is the entire church part of the train space? How many upgrades would it take to reach this level?"

"Impressed? I'm a Level 57 Train Conductor. This rank was considered quite formidable even in my era, let me tell you..."

Ye Qiyan didn't catch the rest of Shaya's words.

He was stunned by the number fifty-seven.

Judging by how each train level upgrade required accessing higher-level platforms, could there really be platforms above Level 50?

Shaya answered his unspoken question.

"That's too simple to even be considered a question. Platforms max out at Level 12. Buildings, items, treasure chests - all capped at twelve. Everything except Conductor levels stops at twelve. At least, that's how it was fifteen years ago. I'm not sure about now, but it probably hasn't increased much."

"Alright, time for me to go."

Shaya finished configuring the train controls and poked Ye Qiyan's cheek.

Ye Qiyan sensed no malice - she was just teasing him.

"Don't worry, Sister Shaya. I won't lose the one you gave me."

"And don't lose your own either. Try to synthesize it soon. Though dangerous, it'll bring you great benefits. Tremendous benefits."

A hint of melancholy colored Shaya's voice.

"I'm leaving now. I could take your train with me, but staying aboard forever would be dull. Enjoy your time on land until the docking countdown ends. Those houses in town are just disposable train cars I made long ago. Recycle them as you please. Take whatever you want. Before you leave... burn this place down for me."

"I... will never return here again."

Shaya's gaze seemed to pierce through the church walls, sweeping across the town that had imprisoned her for fifteen years. The church doors - no, the train doors - slowly opened.

Little Tina took Ye Qiyan's hand.

"Mr. Inspector, we're leaving~ Time for you to disembark~"

Tina was unbearably cute - impossibly so for what was merely a puppet.

Ye Qiyan patted her head, remembering their first meeting. Recalling her fondness for White Forest Fruit, he retrieved ten blessed fruits from his storage unit.

"For you."

"Wow! Yummy fruits! Thank you, Mr. Inspector~"

Tina immediately started munching on one. The aroma caught Shaya's attention as she worked nearby. Noticing the fruit in Tina's hand, she paused thoughtfully.

"This fruit..."

"You're truly blessed by fortune. No wonder you found that one-third fragment. And why does it carry a blessing aura? How peculiar."

"That storage unit ability... Would such a rare carriage really appear on a mere Level 3 train?"

"Have fifteen years of sealing made me obsolete? Are Conductors this impressive now?"

"Just what is his talent?"

"How fascinating..."

Unaware of Shaya's suppressed curiosity, Ye Qiyan carried the box outside, bidding final farewell to Tina.

Only upon exiting did he see the full majesty of Shaya's Level 57 train, understanding why this station had dual tracks.

Black dominated its frame, accented by pure white lines and angelic motifs. Each of its eighteen uniquely designed carriages exuded luxury and sophistication.

From outside, one could never imagine its interior contained a space as vast as a cathedral.

"Spatial compression? Can my train achieve that someday?"

He wasn't joking - he felt genuine envy.

Turning back to his own ramshackle two-carriage train:

"East or west, home is best. Sigh."

"Don't worry, we'll surpass hers in size and grandeur!"

While psyching himself up, he found a friend request from Shaya upon reboarding.

He really wanted to decline...

Something told him getting involved with this woman meant trouble.

Then a forcibly transmitted message flashed across his display:

"You wouldn't dare refuse, would you?"

Accompanied by a chibi Shaya emoji grinning mischievously.

"Of course not! Having Sister Shaya as a friend is an honor!"

Faced with choosing between becoming a puppet or staying alive, Ye Qiyan unhesitatingly picked survival.

Still, he sneakily edited her contact name:

[Golden Retriever]

His petty amusement backfired instantly.

"Good boy~ Now I can track you anywhere. Learn from this - be cautious accepting random friend requests."

"..."

He added another prefix:

[(Evil Woman) Golden Retriever]

The train's roaring engines shook Mystic Bell Town.

The ground trembled.

After fifteen years of stagnation, the train yearned to move.

Fireworks exploded across the sky.

Inside, Shaya bit into a lollipop that had materialized from nowhere.

"Finally... time to leave."

Countless chains materialized ahead, laying tracks through distorted space.

"Night Angel, departing!"

Shaya's triumphant announcement echoed through speakers.

The angelic patterns on the black train seemed to come alive.

Then it vanished into the void.

Silence reclaimed Mystic Bell Town.

"Dynamic train skins? That's a thing? Damn cool."

Ye Qiyan glanced back at his own train.

"..."

Better not dwell on it.

He examined the box Shaya had given him.

Neither heavy nor light - just an ordinary gift box.

[2×2 Safety Box] (Level 9)

[Absolute security - impervious to external damage, immune to forced entry. Items stored within are completely! Safe!]

[Note: Must be placed in permanent location. Once set, only placer can relocate it.]

[Current status: Awaiting binding before opening]

"Level 9? Holy shit!"

He'd assumed it was ordinary. Never expected such generosity.

Even empty, the box itself was invaluable.

He hastily changed her contact name from "Old Hag" to "Beautiful Kindhearted Lady."

"What's inside?"

After fiddling with it, Ye Qiyan pressed his thumb against the box's center.
