Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 320: The Fragile Second Apostle

Having used sixteen Pure Cleansing Stones’ radiance to deal with that anomalous flower demon, Ye Qiyan ascended to the third layer.

This time it was another new apostle.

Their strength gaps were not that large.

The Scoundrel and Lisette together were more than enough to clear the way.

From the fifth, the fourth... up to the sixth layer.

Here, the scenery finally stopped being a sea of differently colored flowers.

Instead, it was a gigantic hall.

Inside the hall, flowers and vines covered everything.

Thousands of humans and flower demons silently prayed here.

The statue looked no different from a human.

Yet that was the god.

The Demon Flower God they worshipped.

From the very front among those believers,

a human figure slowly rose to his feet.

He glanced indifferently at Ye Qiyan and the Lisette and Scoundrel at his side.

“I am the Demon Flower God’s Second Apostle, Kunt. Sir, leave now and you still have a chance to live.”

“My god is merciful and will not blame you for having slain those five inept ones earlier.”

Second Apostle.

But this man felt to Ye Qiyan even stronger than the Lava God’s First Apostle seen back in the Stellar Core Arena.

This was a truly formidable enemy.

Perhaps, this was what a god’s apostle genuinely meant.

Not just a title.

“I already made it this far. Do you think a few words from you can persuade me to leave?”

Ye Qiyan said with a smile.

Kunt shook his head, hands behind his back, and walked through the praying crowd.

He looked at Ye Qiyan like he was staring at an ant.

Every step he took seemed to proclaim his nobility.

“Words won’t save a dying man. Since you seek death, don’t blame me.”

Whoosh—

A soft breath.

Kunt vanished from where he stood in an instant.

His figure reappeared above Ye Qiyan and he slammed a punch down, the Wandering Star Holy Sigil activating automatically.

“Oh?”

He showed a hint of surprise, seemingly taken aback that the Wandering Star Holy Sigil could so easily block his attack.

Beside him, Lisette unleashed a Psychic Blade Wave.

Kunt frowned and summoned a vine-made shield to block.

Yet the blade still pierced the shield.

A fine trail of blood appeared across his body.

“Interesting. This weapon is so sharp it can cut through the demon-flower body granted by my god.”

“But you think a sharp blade and a turtle shell are enough to challenge my god? Truly, how foolish!”

He flickered again, his body floating in midair.

From beneath him, a massive vine shot up to lift him.

Kunt stood aloft and did not engage in close combat.

Countless vines sprang up, trying to entangle Ye Qiyan to death.

The Scoundrel raised its shield, using the Lava Shield’s burning counterattack to push back.

But as more and more vines appeared, even the Scoundrel began to struggle.

“Not in berserk mode, so the attack power still isn’t enough, huh?”

Ye Qiyan watched the Scoundrel being wrapped by vines and lightly rubbed his chin.

“It’s becoming more and more qualified as a meat shield used to taunt.”

Lisette stepped forward, the Chrono-Mechanical Armament behind her ticking.

“Leaving it to you?”

She nodded.

“All right.”

“Then it’s yours.”

Lisette smiled and bowed slightly, stepping out of the Scoundrel’s attack arc.

Several vines bore down on her like a mountain.

Boom—!

A great crash.

Several vines were cut apart by the Psychic Blade Wave.

The hour hand and minute hand began to turn.

Like the sword of Damocles, the spike hovering above Kunt’s head slowly accumulated power.

“Pointless? Humans like these little tricks!”

More vines were summoned.

They frantically tried to smash Lisette into pulp.

However,

as psychic blades kept slicing through ever-larger vines,

Kunt frowned, growing increasingly agitated.

“Cursed, cursed!”

“Then don’t blame me for using this move!”

The vines converged, seemingly about to form some kind of monster.

But at that moment,

the spike that had hovered above Kunt’s head finally began to fall.

Squelch!

The spike pierced flesh.

Kunt touched his pierced head in disbelief.

His consciousness blurred, and the gathering vines began to snap and disintegrate.

Thud—Kunt collapsed, crashing to the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

He was indeed an apostle.

He might indeed possess great power.

But what was even more certain was that Kunt was human.

A human body, rather fragile.

From the moment Lisette’s Psychic Blade Wave had drawn blood, Ye Qiyan had already noticed that Kunt’s defensive options were limited.

He could only summon vines to block, or create a shield made from vines.

Those measures might work against frontal attacks.

But the spike overhead—this man had never considered why it was kept suspended.

Accumulating power to kill with a single strike when needed.

Lisette’s attacks always grew stronger over time.

This opponent was simply too brittle.

“Done~”

“Well then, there should only be one left.”

Approaching the corpse,

Ye Qiyan picked up a cloth bag hanging at Kunt’s waist. It was a storage item similar to the burlap sack used by the Raven demon.

Inside were about two hundred Train Coins and some miscellaneous materials.

“A humanoid monster that saves money—shows the difference.”

“Oh, and this.”

The vines Kunt had summoned withered after his death, and a jade-green seed appeared among them.

[Witchvine Seed (Level 7)]

[After planting, can grow vines controllable at will]

“A pleasant surprise, Level Seven, hmm...”

After this, it could be sublimated for improvement.

Satisfied, he nodded and the door to the next higher level opened.

Continue upward?

Ye Qiyan’s gaze swept across the crowd of still-stunned worshippers.

“They lost self-awareness, completely turned into praying puppets...”

“Lisette.”

“Release them.”

Receiving the command, the mechanical maid swung her Psychic Blade Wave, intending to slay the believers.

However,

at that moment, an anomaly occurred.

From the door leading to the higher level,

a group of figures fell out.

Clang—!

A crisp metallic chime rang.

Lisette’s Psychic Blade Wave was blocked by a gigantic metal-colored flower?

“Human, you, and your machine have done well to arrive this far, but this is the end.”

“I, the Demon Flower God’s First Apostle, Dezel, carry the god’s decree. Returning from the front lines, I will present your head to my god.”

“Flower Sea—”

The flower demons that accompanied Dezel spread out from the higher level.

A strange floral fragrance completely filled the space of this entire layer.

First Apostle Dezel.

She was the last opponent before meeting the Demon Flower God, and also the strongest adversary.
