Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 34: Collecting Corpses, Harvesting Train Coins

After eating and drinking his fill, Ye Qiyan’s mind became lively again.

This slaughter platform seemed to allow only passive defense, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t do anything.

The corpses left behind by the monsters singled out by the Sentinel Guards—if collected and recycled at the processing station—would still yield some gains.

Without hesitation, Ye Qiyan acted.

He bought a large bamboo basket on the trading platform, threaded some ropes through it, and slung it on his back.

He also tied a dagger to the end of a wooden stick, making a simple hooked sickle.

During the lull after the monsters were dealt with, Ye Qiyan hurriedly rushed over to the corpses and dragged them back.

Blackhorn Hunting Dog Level 2

Swift Fierce Snake Level 3

...

One after another, the monster corpses were placed on the train’s processing station for recycling.

[Obtained Blackhorn Hunting Dog Meat ×10]

[Swift Fierce Snake Meat ×5]

[Lizard Meat ×10]

[Obtained Assassin Lizard Skin ×1]

[Carrying this slightly reduces presence]

[Obtained Hunting Dog Dagger ×1]

[Hunting Dog Dagger]

[Dagger used by Blackfang Hunting Dogs, corrosive in nature]

Besides various meat pieces, recycling monster corpses could also yield special materials related to their traits.

Ye Qiyan quickened his pace, freely collecting within the safe range of 150 meters.

As long as he didn’t leave this range, these monsters could not harm him under the Sentinel’s lock-on.

So far, this slaughter platform hadn’t caused Ye Qiyan much trouble but instead brought a substantial harvest.

The level 5 Sentinel Guards were overwhelmingly dominant against monsters no higher than level 4.

Even when an overly large beast tide occasionally broke through the 150-meter safe range, activating the Sentinel’s overlimit mode was enough to repel it.

Moreover, Ye Qiyan’s Judgment of Gunfire module turned him into a marksman.

With the Black-gloss Pistol equipped with armor-piercing rounds, even Shaya’s puppet could be broken through, let alone a bunch of flesh monsters.

Five hours passed, turning this place into a slaughterhouse where he could pick and choose at will.

As for danger—if he had to mention it—the bullet consumption was painfully steep.

Originally nearly a thousand rounds of ammo, after five hours of use, fewer than four hundred remained, and this was with the Sentinel and himself both hitting every shot.

Is this slaughter platform really all there is?

Though the monsters had no brains, the corpses scattered everywhere and the bloody scent in the air instinctively warned them not to enter that zone.

The monsters stopped attacking and began wandering around the perimeter.

It seemed they were waiting for something.

The sky gradually darkened.

Ye Qiyan took out his pocket watch; the time read 18:12.

Night was approaching, and he had no intention of continuing the adventure.

He lit a campfire with a lighter, took out a piece of snake meat, washed it with water, then skewered it on the wooden stick to roast over the fire.

Five hours had netted him 810 kilograms of various beast meats, filling four storage units.

Thanks to the characteristics of the storage carriage, he didn’t have to worry about the meat rotting or smelling bad over time.

While roasting the meat, Ye Qiyan summoned the system light screen before his eyes.

Chatroom [2044/10000]

Everyone else should have left the sixth station by now.

As usual, many had stayed behind forever.

“Are we going to have night survival again tonight?”

“Yeah, the last broadcast said the next night survival is in three days, which is three stations from now. Isn’t that now? What? You still haven’t reached level two? Then you’re dead meat. Those monsters almost caught me last time.”

“Need resources! Need metal! I’m just 30 kilograms of metal short! I’ll trade food! Water! All my supplies!”

“Save it. At times like this, upgrade resources are more important than anything. After tonight, who knows what speed we’ll need next. Who’d trade upgrade resources?”

“Friend, why not try joining the Alliance? Li Xiaosheng there seems to have a lot of upgrade resources.”

“Upstairs, you’re dreaming. That selfish Li Xiaosheng charges sky-high prices now. One Train Coin only gets you 15 kilograms of metal. Screw that—I’d rather die than buy from him!”

“Why such a fuss? Then die. Besides, prices have updated. Now one Train Coin only trades for 10 kilograms of materials or 10 mechanical parts. If you don’t buy now, when night survival starts, prices will get even higher. I’m telling you, only Brother Li dares to sell materials now.”

The speaker was likely a member of Li Xiaosheng’s alliance.

Only just over two thousand people remained in the chatroom. Ye Qiyan observed for a while and saw about a tenth of the conductors still hadn’t completed their first upgrade.

Some missed resources because they hadn’t gotten off at certain stations.

Some were just incredibly unlucky, never entering a station with basic resources in six stations’ time. Surviving this long was already their greatest effort.

This level one to two threshold had already filtered out eight thousand people.

At times like this, they wouldn’t hesitate to spend Train Coins or special items for resources.

Li Xiaosheng appeared to be selling as well, but his prices were too high, making it unaffordable for many. It seemed he was deliberately preventing some from upgrading.

Ye Qiyan still had 16 Train Coins. It seemed like a lot, but who knew how many would be needed for the next upgrade options after upgrading the train.

If he could earn more Train Coins, Ye Qiyan wouldn’t give up.

He thought for a moment and sent a message in the chatroom.

“Selling upgrade materials. One Train Coin can be exchanged for 30 kilograms of metal, or 30 kilograms of wood, or 20 mechanical parts. Limited quantities, first come first served, no bargaining.”

“Boss, I want to buy!”

“No way, isn’t this Gun Seller? Gun Seller is selling resources again? This price is way cheaper than Li Xiaosheng’s gang.”

“Help! I have Train Coins, private chatting you now, please respond quickly!”

“Too expensive, only idiots buy.”

“Damn, such bloodsucking vampires. Is a pile of junk worth a Train Coin? Buy now and see what you do when there’s no Train Coin buying option after upgrading.”

“What’s that barking? Jealous someone has resources to sell but can’t manage themselves? I’ll blast your head off!”

“Isn’t that Li Xiaosheng’s dog? Seeing others sell cheaper than your master and getting upset? I’m buying from Ye Boss!”

“Who did you call a dog!? Damn you! I’ll remember you, and I’ll cut you down when we meet!”

The chatroom exploded.

Some who bought materials at higher prices from Li Xiaosheng felt unfair after seeing Ye Qiyan’s prices and started arguing with others.

Ye Qiyan paid no attention to their quarrel. The materials he put up on the trading interface sold out in an instant, earning him 10 Train Coins.
