Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!
Chapter 38: Weapon Conversion Card, Black Ebony[All conductors must leave Platform 6 immediately!]
The loud broadcast made the remaining two thousand conductors pause their activities, turning their heads in surprise toward the source of the announcement.
[After tonight, conductors with trains below Level 2 will perish during the Night Survival]
[Remaining conductors will proceed to Trading Platform at Station 7]
[At Trading Platform, you may purchase one item matching your train's current level - ensure you have sufficient Train Coins]
[As the number of conductors in Sector E-3 is about to drop below 2000, sector merging will occur after Station 7]
[Friendly reminder: Night Survival begins at midnight sharp and lasts for two hours and thirty minutes]
[Special note: If your train sustains damage from attacks, its speed will decrease - repair promptly using materials]
The lengthy announcement hammered at the conductors' hearts. The chatroom overflowed with desperate pleas as they begged for resources to upgrade their trains. Yet no one extended help at this critical juncture.
Returning to the Endless Wasteland, aside from the overhead broadcast, a glowing screen automatically appeared before his eyes:
[Congratulations on leaving the Level 4 Slaughter Platform despite interference]
[The Train System apologizes for the interference you experienced]
[As compensation, you will receive the following rewards]
[Ding! Congratulations on obtaining Module: Free Processing]
[Free Processing]
[After equipping this module, you can summon and use the Processing Station anywhere]
"...Couldn't this have come earlier?" Ye Qiyan grumbled as he swiped the screen to accept the module. Had he possessed this during the last station, he wouldn't have needed to exhaust himself hauling corpses and lumber.
After his brief complaint, his gaze fell upon the tree stump - no, more accurately, the treasure chest in his hands.
[Level 4 Treasure Chest] (Can be opened)
"Thank goodness for WALL-E, otherwise where would I get so many chests?" Night Survival meant nothing to him - he had more important matters to attend to.
"Sublimation."
[Stamina: 80→50] [Spirit: 115→95]
[Level 5 Treasure Chest] (Can be opened)
"Only fifty points?" Ye Qiyan mused internally. "That's much better than before."
[Opening chest...]
[Obtained: 10 Train Coins]
[Conductor Module: Lightning Assault] (Level 4)
[Weapon Conversion Card] (Level 5)
[Blueprint: Lightning Wolf Leather Boots] (Level 4)
Aside from the coins, three items appeared, only one being Level 5. Ye Qiyan examined each in turn.
[Lightning Assault]
[Consumes 30 Stamina to envelop your body in lightning, forcibly accelerating for a short-distance superspeed movement]
[Weapon Conversion Card] (Level 5)
[Transform any weapon into a Level 5 version of the same type using the original as template]
[Blueprint: Lightning Wolf Leather Boots]
[Requirements: Lightning Wolf pelt ×1]
[When equipped, consume 20 Spirit to summon lightning empowerment, increasing attack/casting/movement speed by 50% for 10s. Can be chained, with each subsequent activation doubling Spirit cost]
Though only one item reached Level 5, the other rewards proved equally impressive. The first module functioned like a forced displacement ability, excellent for dodging attacks or escaping. The third blueprint's potential spoke for itself - the white wolf's abilities remained fresh in memory.
As for the second item... Ye Qiyan pondered while fiddling with the card in his hands. Which weapon to use it on? The answer came easily.
He drew the Black-gloss Pistol from his waist. This firearm had accompanied him through multiple stations, remaining effective even in higher-level areas thanks to its armor-piercing rounds. Plus, it looked damn cool.
"Sublimation."
[Stamina: 50→30] [Spirit: 95→45]
Exhaustion washed over him - advancing from Level 5 to 6 consumed a whopping seventy points. But it would be worth it.
[Enchanted·Heaven's Reaper·Weapon Conversion Card]
[After conversion, weapon gains additional "Heaven's Reaper" enchantment]
Without hesitation, Ye Qiyan pressed the card against his Blacklight Enchanted Pistol. The card emitted alternating black and white radiance, as if angels from heaven and demons from hell had simultaneously manifested.
The pistol floated midair, brilliant light and profound darkness intertwining. Tremendous energy fluctuations made the entire train shudder.
With a resonant hum, all light and darkness dissipated, revealing a glossy black pistol now engraved with both angelic and demonic wings.
[Unnamed] (Level 6)
[Effect: Heaven's Reaper: Each kill absorbs life force to heal owner's wounds, restore Stamina and Spirit]
[Consume 1 Spirit to form black armor-piercing round]
[Consume 1 Stamina to form white explosive round]
[Consume 10 Stamina and 10 Spirit simultaneously to form dual-colored armor-piercing explosive round]
[Please name this weapon]
Incredible! The formerly Level 3 pistol had vaulted to Level 6 through enchantment, with massively enhanced capabilities. Ye Qiyan eagerly opened the train window, scanning the frigid landscape until spotting a mummy monster in the distance. Raising his weapon, he expended 1 Stamina and fired.
A pure white bullet erupted from the barrel. Upon impact, the mummy detonated in a one-meter radius explosion rivaling - no, surpassing - a grenade's destructive power.
"A Level 6 weapon deserves a proper name..." Inspiration struck as Ye Qiyan recalled a name from a game he'd once played. "Black Ebony. Perfect."
The enchanted pistol bore resemblance to that iconic firearm. Naming it thus would honor those fond memories.
[Naming successful]
[Black Ebony (Heaven's Reaper Enchantment - suffix hidden)]
He resisted subliming the remaining items except the module. Who knew what material the boot blueprint might require after enhancement? Crafting the boots left ample wolf pelt - enough to make comfortable bedding for nighttime rest.
Mission accomplished, Ye Qiyan lay on his bed, humming cheerfully. Midnight had passed. Outside, monsters chased the train. While others struggled to survive the night, for him, it remained just another ordinary evening.
"Tomorrow, I reach Level 4."
