Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 559: Confirm the Direction, Change the Target

"I don't want to die..."

No one wants to die, especially when their cause of death is so utterly worthless.

Losing your life for the sake of a haughty noble young mistress, only to receive not gratitude but blame and disdain in the end.

Unless you're a thoroughly domesticated house dog or a green-headed mud turtle, anyone with a shred of self-respect wouldn't choose to silently endure.

The general stretched out his hand, conveying his desperate longing to Ye Qiyan.

"Save me, save me! I don't want to die! I'll pay any price, I don't want to die here!"

[Transaction, Accepted]

A black inverted cross surfaced in the depths of the general's eyes.

A pale light of salvation surged into his body.

A sacred yet distorted hymn played in his mind, and his world, once black and white, was dyed with color once more.

The general slowly rose to his feet, looking at the young man who had saved him with an expression of utter disbelief.

"You, you are!?"

Before he could finish his words, the noble girl who had witnessed all of this rushed over in a few quick steps, glaring at Ye Qiyan with extreme displeasure.

"You're that expert hunting the Dragon Beast? I am the direct daughter of the Casati family. Take me back to the Imperial Capital right now. My father will give you a generous reward. Honestly, why didn't you come sooner? I heard you set out days ago. Didn't the higher-ups tell you I was here?"

As she spoke, she noticed the look Ye Qiyan gave her was extremely strange, as if he was looking at... an idiot with a hole in her head.

"How did this plague-ridden, delirious person get here?"

"What plague? I... huh...!?"

A long spear pierced through the abdomen of this noble girl.

She looked at the owner of the spear in disbelief—it was that general.

The spear was withdrawn, blood spurting out.

The noble girl fell to the ground, reaching a hand towards Ye Qiyan.

"Sa-save me! I can't die, I am, I am..."

Another spear thrust descended, piercing the woman's heart.

"The direct daughter of the Casati family was afflicted by the plague and has been executed by my own hand. Sir, are you satisfied?"

Ye Qiyan paid no mind to the corpse beside him.

He was here to ask for directions, but rather than asking a woman with a hole in her head, reviving this general was a much simpler solution.

As for what would happen after he killed this noble girl, that wasn't something he needed to consider.

From this general, Ye Qiyan learned about the movements of the Dragon Beast and the Black Tide, and also discovered that in other places, large numbers of humanoid rats spreading the plague had appeared, along with Kamaitachi manipulating wind blades.

The entire Xizhou prefecture had now sunk into the quagmire of war.

And the direction the Dragon Beast had fled was precisely towards the location occupied by the Kamaitachi clan.

In just a few days, they had seized a large number of cities and towns in Xizhou. Even the most powerful Resonators couldn't deal with these Kamaitachi.

If Ye Qiyan wanted to continue hunting the Dragon Beast, he would definitely encounter these monsters.

"Kamaitachi? Not Performers unique to this world, but genuine monster races?"

Ye Qiyan obtained a new map and coordinates. This map was much clearer and more detailed than the previous one, with markings for the entire strategic layout of Xizhou and all its various fortresses.

Having obtained the map, he didn't linger. After driving the Road Tyrant away from the fortress, he fell into thoughtful contemplation.

"This world has never had a race like Kamaitachi before. That means they come from another world. Is it because of the Abyss trial?"

"If it really is a trial, it shouldn't just be ordinary Kamaitachi. After all, that thing called the Abyss probably hates me quite a bit. If it wants my life, it should at least produce some equivalent monsters. Kamaitachi... rats... Gods?"

If they really were Gods, then everything made sense.

The so-called 'trial' was a name given by the System. The real situation was that petty creature, the Abyss, wanted him dead.

Ordinary monsters, even gathered into an army, wouldn't be a match for him.

But if the strongest of monsters, those who call themselves Gods, were sent to this world, that could truly be considered a threat.

And there was a high probability it would be two False Gods.

"Not sure what grade they'll be."

Ye Qiyan grinned. He didn't feel any pressure. What he felt was a powerful drive to obtain Divine Cores.

Direction confirmed, target changed.

If Gods really had come to this world, as a Blasphemer Against the Gods, what reason did he have not to go meet them?

The Wasteland.

Zhu Xingshu's Train.

Having just completed a station conquest, she lay sprawled over the Astrological Platform, her face full of exhaustion.

"Sigh, so boring. I can't find any news about a single Card Sequence recently. Whether it's Abukado or those Homeward-bound Souls, why are they all so quiet? The only interesting thing is those newcomers... Hmm... just three more stations before they leave the Novice Station Worlds?"

"Should I stir up some trouble~?"

Zhu Xingshu sat up straight, about to begin a divination, but suddenly, Whispers of Fate sounded in her ear.

"Hmm?"

Her eyes transformed into stars, and her expression became extremely serious.

A long time later, when the whispers faded, she called up the System, looking at the name at the very top of her Friends List.

[Ye Qiyan]

"The Abyss... trial... two C-grade Gods... and... an Apostle of the Abyss? And also... huh..."

A line of bloody tears flowed down her cheek.

It was as if some force existed that forbade her from speaking the words that followed.

Zhu Xingshu licked her lips, somewhat excited.

The Astrolabe hovered above her head, and the force obstructing her vanished.

"And also... to use the Abyss to corrode Bro Ye's consciousness, to turn him into a collectible figurine for that Abyss's collection-obsessed control freak?"

"My, my, how did Bro Ye manage to provoke that guy?"

"Should I warn him??"

"Astrolabe, do you think I should tell him this news?"

"Huh? You mean, to make him owe me a favor?"

"Hehe... That won't work. He won't believe me. Sigh, it's not like I've tricked him that much before."

"Forget it~ Who says I'm a good person? Hehe."

Twelve Fate Cards formed a ring behind her.

An intense power of Fate enveloped her entire train car.

The Wasteland changed because of her.

The original daylight transformed into a night sky.

She gazed up at the firmament from the Astrological Platform.

A Brush appeared in her hand at some unknown time. With a gentle wave, she casually sketched across this starry night.

Stars connected into lines, their resplendent radiance transforming into meteors, falling beyond the horizon of the Endless Wasteland, to that distant place a human Train Conductor could never reach.

One meteor traversed time and space.

Inside the Nation of Odd Laws, Ye Qiyan twisted the brake. He looked up in confusion at the sky, which had suddenly turned half night, and at the single meteor that appeared within this night.

[Ding dong—]

A light screen, like a brilliant starry night, appeared.

On it, there was only one sentence.

["Beware the Abyss's corruption. Don't let your spirit fall below 50."]
