Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 59: The Adventurer Squad in the Village

Following the direction of the Cleric uncle’s gaze,

Above the distant hill, hundreds of green-skinned goblins were waving wooden sticks and iron rods, shouting as they charged forward.

“Stop them! Don’t let these monsters break through! Watch out for invisibility!”

The Cleric uncle pulled out a massive cross, as big as a door panel, from behind and planted it firmly in front of him. Everyone braced themselves, ready to face the goblins’ attack.

Just then, he suddenly heard the young man beside him speak:

“Sentry, open fire.”

The order was given.

The sentry’s red glowing eyes spun continuously.

Hundreds of glowing rings appeared out of thin air beneath the goblins who had entered the 150-meter alert radius. Even the goblin assassins cloaked in invisibility were instantly revealed.

The weapon materialized.

Then,

Fire!

Bullets poured out, each one striking precisely at the goblins’ vital points.

The fierce assault kept all the goblins from entering the sentry’s 150-meter alert zone.

Instinctual fear made the lowest-level goblins turn and flee.

Some goblins escaped beyond the 150-meter radius.

But could they really get away?

“Chase them down.”

The command updated.

The sentry detached from the train and, despite carrying a heavy machine gun, still chased forward at incredible speed.

Those goblins, the moment they tried to rush toward Ye Qiyan, were destined to die here.

When the gunfire ceased, all hundreds of goblins were slaughtered.

The sentry returned above the train to continue its watch.

Ye Qiyan patted the stunned Cleric uncle on the shoulder.

“Uncle, you’re not hurt, right?”

“Huh? Uh, that, who, who exactly are you? That just now?”

The Cleric uncle came back to his senses, swallowing nervously as he looked at Ye Qiyan’s harmless appearance.

“I already said, I’m just passing through. But coincidentally, my target should be the strongest individual among these goblins. Tell me, where is it?”

This was the hunting station, so there must be a hunting target.

Just like that old bat.

“The strongest goblin? Do you mean the Goblin General?”

From this Cleric uncle’s words, Ye Qiyan understood the situation.

This village was surrounded by a legion of five thousand goblins.

There were over two hundred civilians inside the village. As adventurers, they were hired by the human royal family to defend the village so that the villagers could evacuate safely.

Of course, when the Cleric said this, he shook his head with a smile.

“Of course, there’s no way the kingdom would spend a fortune just because of some civilians in a border village to hire a high-level adventurer squad like us.”

The real reason was that a princess of the human royal family was currently somewhere inside the village searching for something.

So this adventurer squad had to hold off the goblin invasion of the village for at least five hours until the princess found what she was looking for and left safely.

And the commander of the goblin legion outside the village was the Goblin General.

It should be Ye Qiyan’s hunting target for this stop.

“Five thousand... Do you really think you can hold out for five hours?”

Ye Qiyan was skeptical of the Cleric uncle’s words.

After all, these people didn’t look like they could withstand five thousand goblins.

The Cleric uncle laughed heartily.

“We are a famous adventurer squad of the kingdom. Defeating the goblin legion might be unlikely, but holding them off is doable.”

He pointed to the sky.

“Look there, we’ve set up a barrier. Once the goblin army arrives, the barrier will activate, and they won’t be able to break through.”

Looking at the other’s overly confident expression, Ye Qiyan silently glanced at the semi-transparent light barrier still hanging in the sky.

It didn’t feel as reliable as he said.

“Will the Goblin General come too?”

“Of course. Oh, I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name is Donald. I’m a Cleric. If your target is that Goblin General, you can stay here. It’s dangerous outside, and beyond the village, the train tracks have already been destroyed by goblins.”

Donald glanced several times in the sentry’s direction, his eyes burning slightly with heat.

With the target confirmed, Ye Qiyan agreed to Donald’s invitation to stay temporarily.

The members of this adventurer squad were quite decent. Ye Qiyan earned their trust by trading a few bottles of ice-cold beer.

Compared to hunting the Goblin General, Ye Qiyan was more curious about what in the village was worth a princess personally searching for.

Donald’s tolerance for alcohol was average. After drinking a bit too much, he spilled everything he knew.

“We don’t know the exact details either, but we heard that an ancient ruin was discovered beneath this village. There might be some treasure inside, haha.”

“Although it’s strange, we’ve roamed the village a few times, yet we haven’t noticed any entrance to the ruins. That princess and her group, we don’t even know how they got in.”

An ancient ruin with no visible entrance?

What treasure could it be hiding?

Could it be the treasure chest for this stop? Or something else?

Ye Qiyan’s interest was piqued. Taking advantage of a moment to grab more beer, he returned to the train.

Looking at WALL-E amusing himself by circling in place, Ye Qiyan patted its metal head.

“Your turn. Go get the most precious thing at this stop. Don’t disappoint me.”

A Train Coin transformed into a dark golden light point and merged into WALL-E’s body.

It tapped its mechanical claw on its square torso, clearly ready to take on the mission with confidence.

“Be careful, don’t get discovered. If you can’t handle it, come back to me. No need to take unnecessary risks.”

Watching WALL-E’s retreating back, Ye Qiyan gave a reminder.

Hearing his concern, WALL-E’s camera-like eyes made a touching expression, nodded, rubbed against Ye Qiyan’s calf a few times, then rolled away on its treads, entering the village unnoticed by anyone.

Near an earthen house, it found the entrance leading underground.

“Brother Ye Qiyan, why so slow? We thought you drank too much and fell asleep inside the train, hahaha.”

“I’m a top-tier adventurer with my own train. How could I get drunk so easily?”

“I really envy you having a train. How much did you spend buying it from RUN Company? We’ve saved for over ten years and only managed to get 18 coins, still three short of owning our own train. Sigh... don’t even know where to find the remaining three.”

“Once this kingdom mission is over, we’ll get one coin. Boss, we’ll have our train soon! Then we won’t have to ride those uncomfortable horse carts anymore.”

“Haha, right! We’ll have one soon!”

RUN Company?

Stepping out of the train, Ye Qiyan’s footsteps paused upon hearing the familiar name in their conversation.

He heard that company’s name once again.

Where was it last time?

At Doomsday Town, the monster in the Silverware Shop had used three Train Coins to buy a cake from RUN Company, thinking it could cure his daughter, but the company’s courier died at the town’s outskirts.

This was the second time.

This time, they were trying to buy a train?
