Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!
Chapter 63: Demon Card · BewitchmentDavier Village, 2,000 meters underground.
Soldiers clad in exquisite armor clustered around a woman in her early thirties, waiting in this subterranean world.
Before them stood a translucent light screen, within which existed an inverted cross-shaped structure.
The woman gripped a semi-cylindrical key and forcefully inserted it into a stone pedestal in front of the light screen. Her footsteps were unsteady, as if she had been standing there for a long time.
“Princess, why don’t you take a break and let us handle this? It’s been almost a whole day. If you keep going like this, your body...”
A soldier stepped forward, offering servile concern.
“Get lost!”
The woman viciously kicked the soldier away.
“This is mine! None of you lowly commoners better lay a finger on it!”
Sensing the oppressive aura surrounding her, the woman snorted disdainfully, her eyes burning fiercely as she stared at the inverted cross altar inside the light screen.
“Almost there, almost there!”
In the darkness, no one noticed.
A small cube-shaped robot, head tucked down, secretly observed everything from nearby.
WALL-E circled around stealthily and stopped at the other side of the light screen, poking it with a mechanical arm. The surface felt soft and pliant.
So, WALL-E directly rammed into it.
“Bang—”
Covering its iron head, the little robot showed an expression of injury in its eyes.
It was certain: it could not enter here.
It needed to return and inform its master.
Let the master come personally to obtain the most precious thing it had discovered inside this station.
————
“WALL-E? Back so soon.”
“Didn’t get the item. Doesn’t matter, I’m not Ye Qiyan. If I can’t get it, I can’t. You still have your electricity.”
“Huh? You mapped it out? So there’s treasure down there?”
Led by WALL-E to the underground entrance, Ye Qiyan took out a Pure Cleansing Stone to use as a light source and followed the robot inside.
“The location is here.”
After about half an hour, passing through a dim path, the scenery suddenly brightened.
Emerald green crystals were embedded everywhere.
Their soft glow brought light to this vast underground world.
They pressed forward.
Until Ye Qiyan heard voices nearby.
“Are you okay? That kick from the princess wasn’t light.”
“Probably broke some ribs...”
“You insisted on going up to die. She despises common soldiers climbing up the most.”
“...I just want to get promoted. I don’t want to remain just a guard...”
“But not now. Once the princess takes the relic’s item, we’ll figure out how to deal with her...”
“Are we really going to move against her?”
“What else? Once she gets the relic’s treasure, how can she allow us to know? She’ll definitely silence us.”
The voices gradually faded.
After walking another ten minutes or so, Ye Qiyan saw the relic the two guards had mentioned.
Observing the princess, who looked like a middle-aged woman in her thirties, Ye Qiyan’s fairy tale image of a princess shattered completely.
“So ugly...”
He didn’t step out directly but circled around like WALL-E did before and reached the other side of the light screen.
He reached out and touched it; the soft texture made it hard to believe it was difficult to break.
“How to get inside?”
Ye Qiyan pondered.
Maybe wait for that princess to open it, then shoot and grab the item?
That was one way. If no better method appeared, he could try it.
“Wait, I have an idea.”
Ye Qiyan suddenly thought of a good plan.
“Anchor.”
The dark gold Blasphemy Card appeared between his fingers.
“Drop anchor.”
Mental energy consumed.
An anchor point marker appeared inside the light screen.
Then.
“Sail.”
A wave of immersion swept over him.
Voices whispered fleetingly at his ear.
When he opened his eyes again, he was inside the relic.
“Success. It actually worked.”
Ye Qiyan toyed with the Blasphemy Card, a smile on his face.
Using anchor points and teleportation, it was entirely possible to bypass any barriers or similar obstacles. The Blasphemy Card’s power was truly growing stronger the more he saw it.
“If the Blasphemy Card undergoes sublimation again...”
Ye Qiyan stared for a moment, then shook his head.
“No, just like before when I couldn’t sublimate items above level 4, my current ability still isn’t strong enough.”
“Forget it. Let’s first see what exactly is inside the relic.”
Putting away the card, Ye Qiyan approached the giant inverted cross altar building.
“So tall.”
Looking up, the structure was roughly ten stories high.
He climbed the steps, ascending continuously.
Until reaching the wide pure white platform at the top.
Only one inverted cross-shaped platform, a little over a person’s height, stood there.
Approaching it, the huge altar existed solely for the one item on that platform.
“What is this?”
A pale purple card floated in midair.
On the card, a vivid image of a demon holding a scythe, face concealed by a hood, was depicted.
“Why does it feel somewhat like the Blasphemy Card? No way?”
Ye Qiyan swallowed, reaching out to grab it.
The moment he held the card, countless whispers filled his ears, full of bewitching meanings.
But that sensation vanished in an instant.
Ye Qiyan shook his head and tapped his forehead.
“What was that just now? A hallucination?”
He pulled up his personal information.
Aside from the mental energy consumed earlier for placing the anchor and teleporting, his mental energy dropped by another half.
“This card...”
“Identify.”
Calling up the Train system, he scanned the card in his hand.
[Demon Card · Bewitchment]
[Bewitchment: Consume mental energy, your lies will be believed.]
[Demon: Consume physical strength, your actions will cause fear.]
“Such strong abilities, and no level restriction... Could this thing be the same kind of item as the Blasphemy Card?”
“No, this one should be less powerful than the Blasphemy Card.”
“Lucky, this station even has an extra gain.”
Ye Qiyan’s mood was quite good.
He glanced down at the ugly princess below still struggling to use what seemed to be the key to open the light screen.
“So hardworking. It’d be pitiful if she found the place empty after coming in.”
He casually tossed a level 3 bullet onto the altar.
“A level 3 bullet, not bad.”
He didn’t leave immediately.
In fact, he couldn’t leave right away.
The anchor’s teleportation needed an hour to recharge.
During this time, Ye Qiyan returned below and let WALL-E go back first.
Time passed quickly.
“Anchor.”
“Sail.”
Immersion again.
Whispers again.
Only this time, when Ye Qiyan opened his eyes, he was back on his train.
