A few days later.
Time: [9:31:10]
Today's Weather: [Light Snow]
Light, delicate snowflakes drifted down from the sky.
Ye Qiyan sat by the train window, holding a cup of milk candy coffee, and stretched his hand out toward the window.
The icy snow fell into his palm.
Mingming, perched on his shoulder, and the newly awakened Dream Eater both jumped into his hand, using the snow to craft a real flower.
"Jingle bell~~"
Mingming hugged the snowflake flower, floating happily in front of Ye Qiyan, affectionately rubbing against his cheek before tucking the flower into her own hair.
Lisette and WALL-E, wearing light pink aprons, were cleaning up the carriage interior.
Red Tears sat not far away, her gaze never leaving Ye Qiyan.
In the farm, the Demon Raven, holding a pair of eyes in its talons, cackled maliciously as it painted black light and shadow onto the unconscious Goshawk.
The Raven demon stood silently nearby, letting the Demon Raven pluck feathers from its body.
White Bear hid in the corner, snickering, only to have the Raven demon paint it with black feathers as well.
Gluttony was sleeping in its own carriage, occasionally eating scraps of broken metal delivered by the Nano-Bee Swarm.
In the training firing range inside the Armament Hangar, Scoundrel and Lancelot were still tirelessly training with Augustine.
By now, Scoundrel could briefly use Rage with a clear mind.
There was so much more...
Ye Qiyan watched it all through the Illusory Surveillant, stroked the Hunt wrapped around his shoulder, leaned out the window, and waved at Eve on the roof.
"Stop staying up there. Come down and rest for a bit."
Eve's rabbit ears twitched. She happily jumped through the window into the train and landed on Ye Qiyan.
"Ten out of ten."
Ye Qiyan stroked Eve's rabbit ears, set down his coffee cup, and smiled softly.
"It's not bad to take a few days to rest in the Wasteland once in a while."
After the last station, he hadn't immediately entered the next Station World. Instead, he let the train wander through the Wasteland.
Originally, he'd hoped to run into something like the [Plunderer] or a Wasteland Species again. Unfortunately, he hadn't encountered any.
"Speaking of which, it's been a while since I checked in on those people from my Sector. I wonder how many are left."
Ye Qiyan put Eve down, equipped the [Witness of the End] title to keep monsters from chasing him, then pulled up a Light Screen and opened the Public Chat Room.
The first thing he saw was the total remaining population across the Sectors.
[9005/10000]
Compared to the last time, fewer than a thousand had died. That number wasn't too high for the Wasteland.
Ye Qiyan didn't search for any keywords. He casually scrolled through the chat interface, reading their conversations, and spotted something interesting.
["Haha, Brother Zhao's Future Guild took first place in the new guild competition! All those Train Conductors from other Sectors in our batch lost to us!"]
["Of course! E-3 is the best, no question! Now everyone's saying our generation is the Golden Age of Train Conductors, and E-3 is the leading light of that Golden Age!"]
["After all, quite a few big shots joined from the newly merged Sectors. They're stronger than us originals..."]
["All of us newbies and the strongest seniors have joined Future Guild. As long as we keep pushing forward, we'll definitely surpass those old fossils. Oh, and I've got some deity statues that can make you stronger. If you worship them day and night, you'll gain power. Five Train Coins each. Anyone interested?"]
["Holy crap, that cheap? Gimme one!"]
Future Guild.
That name was pretty interesting.
That guy named Zhao An seemed to have built the guild up quite a bit.
A lot of those newly merged Train Conductors had probably joined, hadn't they?
Ye Qiyan felt a spark of interest. He searched the keyword and dug through the past chats, finding the [Future Guild] leadership list directly.
[President: Zhao An]
[Vice President: Shangguan Yingxue]
[S-Class Members: Mo Shi, Forgotten, Don Quixote, Anjie, Daxim...]
"Hm? These names..."
He recognized the first three, but the fourth... Anjie?
Ye Qiyan's mind flashed back to that day in the Doomsday Station World—the City Lord of White Snow City atop the disaster-avoiding giant beast, that silver-haired girl.
"Probably just a coincidence in names."
Ye Qiyan knew that White Snow City had likely become a new Low-Level Station World, but that didn't necessarily mean she could become a Train Conductor.
The Wasteland was huge. Having a name match was perfectly normal.
"Mo Shi..."
Ye Qiyan murmured softly, repeating the name.
That Miss Mo Shi, representing [Death], had actually chosen to join a guild.
Well, that made sense. If she really wanted to move forward as a Train Conductor, given her personality, joining a guild wasn't strange at all.
"No wonder they became number one. With these people around, it'd be harder not to be first."
Ye Qiyan shook his head with a light laugh.
"Speaking of which, I wonder if Fengfeng is in my Sector. But even if she is, she'd probably join her original guild."
Future Guild.
Just like its name.
The people in this guild truly were full of the future.
"Interesting, but not that interesting."
Ye Qiyan didn't dwell on it. After all, no matter how talented or promising this guild was, that was a matter for the future. Right now, there wasn't much profit to be made from them.
He casually closed the Public Chat Room, glanced at his Friends List, and noticed that Shangguan Yingxue's avatar was faintly flickering at the bottom.
"Oh? A message? Sent seven days ago? I completely missed it."
Shangguan Yingxue's message hadn't triggered the system's notification, meaning the system judged that this conversation wasn't very significant to him.
Plus, her name was all the way at the bottom of his Friends List, and Ye Qiyan rarely bothered scrolling down, so it was even less likely he'd notice.
(Seven Days Ago) Shangguan Yingxue: ["The guild changed its name. Quite a few impressive new members joined. You... want to join too? It might be helpful for you."]
"Inviting me again, huh."
This wasn't the first time, and Ye Qiyan suspected it wouldn't be the last.
But joining this guild? He had absolutely zero interest.
["No interest."]
Out of politeness, he casually replied. He figured the response wouldn't get an answer, but surprisingly, Shangguan Yingxue quickly sent a new message.
["...You're incredibly strong. I think I can guess—you're probably the strongest person in the entire E-3 Sector. I... I want to ask you for a favor. No, more precisely, I want to propose a trade with you."]
A trade?
Now that... was a bit interesting.
