Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 668: A Chance Encounter at the Toy Store

【Alphart Collectible Toy Store】

The quality of the dolls here was exceptionally fine.

Each one was made from special materials harvested from monsters in Advanced Station Worlds, collected from Train Conductors, then heavily processed and crafted into their final forms.

The store owner used to be a Train Conductor herself. She obtained a module called [Master Doll Artisan] from one of her train upgrade options, and after a station adventure that nearly killed her, she came up with the idea of stopping her progress and settling down in a city.

That was how this store came to be.

Ordinary people definitely couldn't afford her creations, so she had no intention of opening a shop in the city center.

Instead, she opened it near this [Meteor Belt Mech Battle Game] base.

There weren't many customers.

After all, people who used dolls as a way to relieve stress were already rare, let alone when hers were exceptionally expensive.

Ye Qiyan brought WALL-E to the front of this shop and pushed open the door.

The owner warmly welcomed his arrival.

"Hello there, young man. What would you like to buy? Judging by your look, you must be a Train Conductor, right?"

The owner was a middle-aged woman who appeared to be in her forties or fifties.

"I'll just look around myself. Something expensive would be nice."

"Something expensive? Then head over to Zone C. Those are my finest works from the past few years. However, each person can only buy one, so I ask for your understanding. And... if you do make a purchase, I hope you'll treat these dolls well. They're all good children I've made with my own hands..."

"Alright."

Ye Qiyan brought WALL-E toward Zone C as the owner had directed. Behind him, the owner couldn't help but sigh as she watched his retreating figure.

"Not bad luck today. Two customers in one go, and they both look like good people."

Zone C of the store was enormous.

That was because this area was originally the owner's train carriage from back when she was in the Wasteland, equipped with a compressed large space.

Rows upon rows of shelves displayed dolls in all shapes and forms, but most of them were just holographic projections. The projections clearly showed the owner's crafting process, the materials used, and photos taken with buyers.

"They do look more refined than the ones I've seen in other cities."

Ye Qiyan drank his cola, leading WALL-E as he leisurely strolled between the shelves.

In truth, he had no idea which dolls were valuable. He was simply looking for something that caught his eye.

And so, he searched and walked, until he spotted a petite figure on one of the shelves, standing on tiptoes, desperately trying to reach a knight doll on the top shelf.

For some reason, Ye Qiyan found that back view oddly familiar.

He walked over, raised his hand, and took the doll down.

"I must say, Grand Judge Zhao Xi, even if you keep standing on your tiptoes like that, the things you can't reach still won't come to you."

"..."

Zhao Xi's face flushed red.

In truth, the moment Ye Qiyan had spotted her, she had also sensed his presence.

That peculiar affinity that made her [Judgment] talent feel instinctively drawn to him existed only in Ye Qiyan.

Not to mention the resonance between their Hunt-Patrol Mech-Dragons.

"If I jumped, this shop would break apart. But anyway, what are you doing here?"

"Taking a break."

Ye Qiyan took a sip of his cola, while WALL-E beside him drank some plasma.

"I was also hoping to make some money off you, but it doesn't look like that's happening now."

He handed the doll to Zhao Xi.

"You can still make money. Just grab another one. But speaking of which, are you that short on cash?"

Ye Qiyan crushed the empty cola cup in his hand and shrugged helplessly.

"Not enough income, too much spending. Isn't it normal to be short on cash? How about this one?"

He picked up an evil dragon doll from another shelf.

"A knight and an evil dragon, perfect together. Let me check... huh, 10 Train Coins? Isn't this thing way too expensive?"

Zhao Xi shifted on her feet, clearly uncomfortable having to look up at someone while talking.

She simply turned her head away.

"It's not expensive. That one you have is made from threads crafted from the reverse scales of a real level 9 Radiant Great Dragon. If you channel some power into it, it can even fight for you, though it can only take down an ordinary person."

"Oh, not interested."

Ye Qiyan casually squeezed the evil dragon doll and placed it directly onto WALL-E's cube-shaped body.

"Oh? What's this... such a strange little robot. It's actually kind of cute. Feels familiar somehow?"

"It's called WALL-E."

"WALL-E... can't quite remember."

Zhao Xi shook her head and finally found a suitable spot to climb onto the shelf, sitting down so her line of sight was level with Ye Qiyan.

"After all, I've been in stasis for ten years. I've forgotten a lot of things from before. That's the Wasteland's punishment for Stagnant Ones."

She crossed her legs, looking to be in a good mood.

"Speaking of which, why isn't your mechanical maid following you? Is she..."

Just as Zhao Xi was about to finish her sentence—

Outside the shop, a violent commotion interrupted their conversation.

"BOOM!!!"

A massive explosion rang out.

The intense suction force made even this doll shop tremble violently.

The gravity in the air was slowly disappearing.

What was happening out there?

"Tch..."

Ye Qiyan was a bit annoyed.

Was he really that unlucky? Did he have to destroy every city he visited?

A cold glint flashed through his eyes.

This time, he genuinely wanted to rest! It had only been three days!

He hadn't even had his fill of fun yet. If someone really wanted to stir up trouble...

"Heh..."

The Armament Space opened.

Now that WALL-E was equipped with the [Phantom Armament], the [Armament Space] counted him as part of its weapons, allowing him to enter freely.

Knowing he had no combat capability, WALL-E waved his claw, striking a classic pose he had learned from a movie called [Terminator] that he'd watched recently. He slowly sank into the Armament Space, holding up his pincer.

"Not enough slots. Oh well, I'll deal with it later."

He headed outside the shop. Zhao Xi opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately said nothing and followed closely behind him.

Outside the shop.

Massive amounts of building debris and people were being pulled toward one direction.

That direction was precisely where the mech battle game base stood.

[Demon Card · Arrogance]

The perspective shifted.

From a god-like vantage point, he saw a massive crater now in the base, not far from here.

Beyond the crater lay the outer space of the Alphart itself.

"Lisette, Eve, are you two okay?"

Through the communication device, Lisette's voice came through, somewhat chaotic.

["Master, I just saw a group of humans self-destruct and blow that place open."]
