Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!

Chapter 671: Inside the First Guard Office

The next day.

After arranging the meeting place through Ailei, Ye Qiyan soon arrived outside the First Guard of the Alphart.

The First Guard — he had already heard that name a few days earlier.

If the trade was to happen here, and considering that expensive ship ticket,

then the party trading with him was likely someone from the city’s upper management.

Ye Qiyan entered through the main gate.

No one noticed him.

A simple infiltration, executed with extreme efficiency.

Because he had exact coordinates, he did not worry about getting lost at all.

[First Guard of the Nation on Ships, Guard Captain’s Office]

A plaque hung outside the office door.

On it was a name Ye Qiyan had heard before.

[Aleph]

This was the leader of the first team that had arrived at the mecha game port after the explosion a few days ago.

A female guard pushed the door open and walked in, and Ye Qiyan followed her into the office.

The office was otherwise empty.

After placing a stack of documents on the desk, the female guard retreated and left.

It was still early; Aleph had not returned.

Ye Qiyan picked up the papers and skimmed them.

The internal intelligence was varied, but it all focused on a single faction.

[Ancient Council]

And the blond man’s name was printed on those paper reports that Ye Qiyan read.

[Resource Sir]

A man determined to make everything in the Wasteland — even the tiniest grain of sand — his own, a man who aspired to become the Terminus Producer.

An old-timer active among Train Conductors before the Twelve Original Cities were even founded.

A man who was extremely at odds with the black market boss, Christine.

Those very intelligence reports had even been purchased from the black market.

“Ancient Council, members... Mr. Order? No wonder those two had some similarities, they really are from the same organization.”

Ye Qiyan put the files down.

With nothing better to do, he opened the Public Chat Room and checked the heated discussions between Train Conductors in the same Sector about the Guild Tournament.

About half an hour later.

The office door was pushed open.

Aleph walked in yawning, carrying a bottle of high-proof liquor.

He flopped onto the sofa, while the female secretary who had come in with him waved her hand in disgust.

“Captain, what are you drinking in broad daylight? Besides, the City Lord’s orders you were supposed to handle aren’t done yet. There’s been increasing unrest in the city lately. I heard some people even found members of the Emperor's Order here.”

Aleph laughed heartily with a drunk grin plastered across his face.

“The Emperor's Order is what it is. The Nation on Ships never cares much about so-called terror groups. Maybe they came just to watch. After all, this batch of rookie Train Conductors is the strongest in years. Even those organizations need new blood; it’d be normal for them to come take a look.”

“But...”

“Enough, enough. Those Emperor's Order people are scary, sure, but if I had to pick the worst, it’d be those Ancient Council guys.”

A trace of disgust flashed in Aleph’s drunken eyes, but it quickly faded back to his previous expression.

“Ah, get out, get out. I haven’t slept properly in three days. I still have a trade to close later, and I need to thank that Train Conductor who avenged me. Wait outside, wake me the moment they come.”

“All right, you rest.”

The secretary left the office.

Aleph lay on the sofa for a while, then tossed aside the bottle. His face settled; the drunk look was gone.

He picked up a photo frame.

Inside was a picture of him with a young man who looked extremely similar to him.

“My son, your father was too incompetent to avenge you against those damned Goblins. Luckily, someone else did it... Rest in peace.”

Aleph hugged the photo to his chest, then after a long moment, sighed and tipped the pure liquor toward his mouth.

“Aleph, if you’re making a trade, I’d prefer to speak with someone a bit more sober.”

A calm voice drifted into Aleph’s ears.

In an instant, cold sweat soaked him; all the alcohol on his skin seemed to evaporate into steam from his flushed face.

“Who!?”

Aleph searched for the source of the voice.

Only then did he realize something was wrong!

Why was the chair that usually faced the office door now turned with its back to the door?

Who was there?!

How could he have not noticed?!

Although Aleph was not a top-tier Train Conductor — when he stopped entering new stations his Train Level was barely in the thirties —

he still shouldn’t have failed to notice someone standing so close!

The executive chair turned slowly.

Ye Qiyan’s figure appeared before Aleph.

He felt a face he could not clearly see — or rather, a face he did not have the right to see.

In an instant, a flood of intelligence entered Aleph’s mind.

Among those data,

an entry named [Altos] popped into his head.

[Emperor's Order Demon · Altos]

[Commonly referred to as: Demon Mech-Dragon Man]

[Due to unknown talent? Module? artifact? or other reasons, the true appearance cannot be recorded.]

[Identification: Because the true form cannot be determined, in such cases treat the entity as Altos.]

[Each appearance is accompanied by a mechanical maid resembling a human woman, a brutal killing machine with rabbit ears, and a golden mechanical dragon]

[Owner of the Demon Card]

[However, based on recent actions]

[The opponent is not entirely ruthless, and has repeatedly saved major cities from ruin]

[Possesses the ability to independently kill a god]

[Train Level: ?]

[Specific power evaluation: Unquestionably top-tier!]

[Response recommendation: Do not provoke. If provoked, accept your death and do not resist]

“A-Altos? How are you here?”

Cold sweat kept pouring from Aleph.

He glanced once toward the office door, desperately hoping it would never open.

If anyone angered this person, it wouldn’t just be the guard unit in trouble — the whole city might be doomed.

“Trade.”

Ye Qiyan said the single word in a flat tone.

“Three thousand five hundred Train Coins, trade for the spoils from the Goblin Seventh Expeditionary Army. Right now, begin.”
