Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!
Chapter 679: The Heart of [Time Freeze]The curtain slowly rose.
The Nation on Ships descended into waves of chaos.
Ye Qiyan calmly took a bite of his fruit, squinting slightly as he stared at the exclamation marks flashing across the system interface.
[Current System Status: Permission - Full Frequency Blockade]
[Unable to use [Communication] [Trading Platform]]
The Trading Platform and communications had been cut off.
But this was different from the times Ye Qiyan had experienced before, when a God directly intervened.
This time, the blockade was a spontaneous act by the system itself.
Some Train Conductor was using system authority to sever system communications.
Ye Qiyan patted WALL-E's head, thoughtfully glancing toward the direction of the city's entrance.
"Someone wants to get their Train out of the Capsule Tunnel... Is something about to happen over at the Capsule Tunnel?"
"Hm?"
His curiosity had just begun to stir.
Then, he suddenly heard a familiar explosion.
A few days ago, he had heard the exact same sound.
And now, that sound began to ring out everywhere throughout the Alphart.
"For freedom!"
The [Human] was self-destructing.
The emotion of Envy and Hatred began to spread.
Thump... Thump...
A sound rang out.
"Friend Sancho! Did you see that?! What a huge heart!"
"Sir Don Quixote, what are you talking about? Isn't that just a tall building over there?"
Heart...
Ye Qiyan silently looked up at the sky.
[Spirit: 400 (Witness Truth and Falsehood) (Shadow of the End)]
There, in the false sky.
A heart clinging to the top of a tall building was continuously beating and swelling.
Its beating had a rhythm.
Each beat resonated with the self-destructions of the suicide bombers.
No.
It could even be said.
The appearance of those suicide bombers was related to this very heart.
Thump... Thump...
Thump...
Whoosh—
In the cosmic void.
The other three starships of the Nation on Ships all deployed their weapons and launched attacks toward the Alphart.
After hearing the broadcast, the Train Conductors grumbled a few complaints, then followed the city's guidance toward the additionally opened subspace stations, releasing their Trains from the Capsule Tunnel.
Although many harbored doubts about the situation, regardless of what the people of the Nation on Ships intended to do, they had to first ensure that they and their Trains could stay together.
However, the attack that was originally planned to hit the Alphart's most fortified area suddenly changed direction.
It fired toward the starship's weak points.
A dazzling light emerged from the Alphart in the cosmic void.
When Joel, who was searching for the [Key] in the Capsule Tunnel, received this news, his face immediately turned grim.
"How is this possible? Didn't I give the orders? What the hell are the captains of those three starships doing? And the Train Conductors assigned to assist?!"
Poppet's expression was equally ugly.
Due to the frequency obstruction.
Even though this authority was being used by Joel himself, they too were subject to the same restriction.
She pulled out a high-level communicator and transmitted the voices from the other three starships.
["Zzz... crackle... Can you hear this? This is Lois! Our naval guns are out of control! Someone forcibly hijacked the weapon controls!"]
["This is Heka! A large number of suicide bombers have appeared on the ship! They're charging toward the control room! Requesting backup! Requesting backup!"]
["Sander's ammunition depot has been locked down! A group of Abukado members got in here! They're fighting the Train Conductors on Sander! Requesting backup!"]
At the same moment, similar incidents were unfolding on all three other starships.
Joel rubbed his brow, his face full of exhaustion, and spoke coldly:
"The Abukado people are coming to die too, huh. I'll handle it. You keep searching for the Key. Once you find it, contact me immediately."
"Yes, sir!"
Joel stepped out of the Capsule Tunnel.
His eyes were filled with gloom.
He pulled a mechanical wrench from his pocket and tossed it into the space before him.
A door unfolded.
Coordinates entered.
He stepped inside.
When he reappeared.
His figure stood within the research institute located in the void of space.
This place was situated ahead of the four starships.
If anyone looked from the outside, it was easy to see.
This research institute was shaped like a train's locomotive section.
"Director, what's happening in the city? Do you need our help?"
"Has the Key been found?"
"My instruments show a lot of high-energy reactions in the city now."
"There's also a very strange spiritual fluctuation over on the Alphart."
Dozens of men and women, all wearing the same white lab coats as him, some continuing their research, others crowding around to ask about the city's affairs.
"Deploy the sentinels. Find those threats. Eliminate them."
Joel gave the order.
Inside the research institute's warehouse, thousands of mechanical sentinels, all ranked Level 8, launched toward the other three starships.
After the sentinels departed, Joel rubbed his brow.
He looked at the few people in front of him, then at the dozens of scientists remaining in various research rooms, and let out a light laugh.
"The Key will be found soon enough. You just keep doing your research here. We are humanity's future. Everything... for freedom."
The door unfolded once more.
He stepped inside and returned to the Alphart.
This was his Carriage.
If anyone truly understood cosmic warships, as long as they got a bit closer, it wouldn't be hard to notice.
The four starships had actually been moving at an extremely slow pace all along.
Yet this movement did not consume any of the starships' own energy.
The reason was simple.
The starships were being pulled by the locomotive section.
Advancing along a track.
The Nation on Ships was Joel's Train.
When he returned to the Alphart, he planned to head to the Guard Unit to find Aleph and have him restore order in the city.
However...
Thump... Thump... Thump...
What was that sound?
Joel looked toward the source of the sound.
A fluctuation of Spirit appeared in his eyes.
The faint outline of a heart gradually transformed into a truly massive, beating heart.
"......Damn it."
Thump... Thump...
The heart kept beating.
As a Top-Tier Train Conductor, Joel finally realized something at that moment.
All around him.
Poppet and the hardworking people beside her were now frozen in place, completely motionless.
"A Heart of the God of Time... Where the hell did they get that thing? Damn it!"
His Spirit quality was high enough, so he wasn't affected by this time freeze.
But his subordinates, who were desperately searching for the Key... none of them could continue working now.
"WHO IS IT?!!"
Thump... Thump...
Inside the Pearl Light Arena.
Ye Qiyan silently glanced at his personal interface.
[Name: Ye Qiyan]
[Status: Spiritual Time Freeze (Ineffective)]
[The Heart of the God of Time has something else mixed into it. Be careful. A God Parasite is coveting human Spirit.]
