Train Survival: I Can Evolve Everything!
Chapter 73: Terrorist OrganizationNext door room.
Zhao Lin stared in terror at the massive gear-shaped iron block that had smashed through the entire wall.
A chain linked through the center of the gears.
With rhythmic clanking sounds, the gears were dragged back by this chain.
"What happened?"
Ye Qiyan, who had entered the room, couldn't help but frown at the scene before him.
Through the broken gap, he could see a man wearing mechanical constructs manipulating chains, making seven gears orbit around him.
"Fan Huo! Surrender quietly!"
"..."
Changing his angle, he saw that in front of the mechanical man, another man with a cigar in his mouth and black sunglasses stood atop a fighter jet.
"Lackey of the Indolent Ones, you think you can capture me?"
The gear-controlling man's face darkened as he swung his chains, sending several gears spinning toward Fan Huo once more.
"How dare you insult the Master!"
The flying gears were intercepted by a hexagonal protective barrier before they could hit Fan Huo, deflecting them in other directions.
One of them happened to fly toward Zhao Lin's location again.
The girl's face turned deathly pale, her feet seemingly bound as she stood frozen watching the scene.
"Tch."
Boom—!
The room was completely destroyed.
Zhao Lin trembled, looking fearfully at Ye Qiyan who had pulled her out of the room.
"Qiyan... Brother Qiyan..."
"Can you walk?"
"Yes..."
As they exited the hot spring inn, quite a crowd had gathered on the street, with the innkeeper standing nearby looking utterly devastated.
"Damn them, why couldn't they take their fight to the wilderness instead."
"Boss, do you know what's happening up there?"
Ye Qiyan approached him, helped pick up several train coins that had fallen to the ground, and casually inquired.
"Sigh, thank you... Those two up there - the one with the cigarette is probably a member of some terrorist organization, while the other is a high-level judge from the City of a Thousand Stars. The smoker stole some rare artifact from the judge, something about collecting a certain number to trigger some effect, though I don't know the specifics. Really... I can't understand what these terrorist organizations are thinking?"
"Isn't a peaceful and comfortable life good enough? Why must they always fight and kill? The great ones above worked so hard to build all these cities where we can live peaceful lives like before, why must they insist on changing things..."
The innkeeper's gaze toward Fan Huo held confusion, and a hint of hidden envy.
"Terrorist organization?"
Ye Qiyan blinked, glanced at Fan Huo who was fleeing through the air, then silently looked at the Imperial Sequence Organization chatroom beside him.
"Yes, didn't you know? Oh, I see - you must be from the new batch of Train Conductors. Calculating the time, it should be about when your batch arrives in this world. No wonder business was so good today. Time flies - it's been twelve years since I came to this world."
The innkeeper understood and didn't hide anything despite Ye Qiyan being a newcomer.
"I don't know the specifics either. I only know that certain great ones above built many cities in some major station worlds, aiming to provide stable lives for everyone coming to this world so they don't have to drive trains and adventure in the wilderness anymore. But many terrorist organization members keep collecting something that angers the people above, so they've been labeled terrorist organizations."
"Speaking of which, I heard you can get quite a few train coins just for reporting information about them. Heh, wonder when I'll encounter one."
Ye Qiyan smiled and took a step back.
"You'll meet one. Maybe you already have."
"Haha, how could that be? That kind of conflict among the upper echelons isn't something a useless person like me - someone who never got past level 4 train and stayed here all along - would ever get to see."
The innkeeper laughed heartily, scratching his bald head before turning to leave. Somehow, his retreating figure looked somewhat desolate.
Ye Qiyan rubbed his chin. This innkeeper didn't seem to know much.
In fact, he seemed completely unaware of the existence of card sequences.
"If someone really collects a complete card sequence, what exactly would happen?"
"Brother Qiyan..."
Zhao Lin gently tugged at his wrist from behind.
Turning around, he saw Zhao Lin's face filled with inner conflict.
"I... should I stay here like that innkeeper..."
"That's your decision. Why ask me?"
"...I'm sorry for causing you trouble. If it weren't for my bad luck..."
Ye Qiyan interrupted her.
"You gave me train coins. Until you decide to stay or move forward, staying by my side is an equivalent exchange. Even if I catch your bad luck, it's my own choice and has nothing to do with you. If you want to stay, then find a guild and ask that innkeeper uncle - he has experience. That's all. I have things to do tomorrow."
Although the inn had a huge hole smashed through it, many rooms remained unaffected.
The owner gave Ye Qiyan a new room.
Nothing else happened that night.

The next day.
When he woke up, it was already 9:00 AM.
This was the longest he'd slept since coming to this world.
Although the bed on the train was comfortable, there was always a sense of tension from constant danger nearby.
But now, surrounded by the strong human civilization atmosphere of the City of a Thousand Stars, he was wrapped in a factor called stability.
No wonder so many people chose to stay.
After washing up.
He ate the breakfast provided by the inn.
Just as he stepped out of his room, he saw Zhao Lin squatting by his doorway with massive dark circles under her eyes, looking up at him.
"Brother Qiyan..."
"What are you doing?"
Zhao Lin forced a smile, trying to make her condition appear less awful.
"Couldn't sleep."
"Then go count sheep."
"I! I won't stay here!"
She suddenly stood up, her eyes determined.
"I've made up my mind. Even if I stay, this talent of mine might kill me at any time. I might as well keep riding the train - maybe I can find something out there that'll help me survive, right?"
Ye Qiyan stopped walking and looked at Zhao Lin with some surprise.
Honestly, he hadn't expected Zhao Lin to choose to continue forward, but this was fine too. As a qualified trading partner, many of the things she obtained at lucky stations would eventually end up in his hands.
"Why ask me? If you want to continue, then continue. Here, perk yourself up."
A white forest fruit appeared in his hand out of nowhere, which he tossed toward Zhao Lin's chest, bouncing twice.
"I'm going to get my vehicle. Are you coming?"
"Of course! I paid you train coins, after all. I'll follow you to the end."
