Silence—
There was no movement at all from the door to the Abyss Realm.
Until a long moment later, just as Ye Qiyan was considering whether to toss a couple of bombs inside that door.
Finally.
The [Abyss] spoke.
“Stupid... even a mere human dares to say that about me. Those bastards all mock me too... not only did they steal my authority, they stole so many of my toys, and they even punched a hole right through my home. And I’m clearly the strongest one here...”
Well, this guy was actually muttering to himself right in front of Ye Qiyan now.
Ye Qiyan helplessly pressed his hand to his forehead.
“Stop. If you keep spouting nonsense, I’ll just leave this station right now. Whatever you want to do has nothing to do with me, and helping you? Even less likely.”
“At least no one stole my home from under me.”
“You!”
“Goodbye.”
“W-wait a second!”
The Abyss’s voice suddenly grew anxious.
This was the only chance He had to tweak Ye Qiyan’s station platform right now.
His authority loss was too severe. If Ye Qiyan just walked away like this...
It would be who knows how long before the Abyss could see him again.
“It’s not just helping out. In your human terms, this is called a deal! You help me! And I’ll give you something!”
Ye Qiyan stopped in his tracks.
Truth be told, he had never actually planned to leave.
As a figure-collecting maniac, the [Abyss] might have had plenty stolen from him, but the things he still possessed definitely weren’t bad.
With an opportunity like this, not squeezing some profit out of this guy would be an absolute waste.
He chuckled quietly to himself, put on an impatient expression, furrowed his brows, and turned back to face the door.
One hand slid into his pocket.
Behind him, within the Card Sequence—
[Bewitchment] and [Defiance] silently vanished and reappeared in his hand.
At the same time, they intertwined with each other.
“What exactly do you want to do? And why do you have to come to me specifically? Also, tell me—why did you end up like this? Spill everything that happened, one by one. I’m curious: how did a great Abyss True God end up needing help from an ordinary human like me?”
[Bewitchment × Defiance]
A fleeting shadow of a black inverted cross flickered in the depths of Ye Qiyan’s eyes.
The Demon’s
Demon’s Whisper pierced straight through that door, reaching a place filled with shattered fragments and utterly chaotic space.
A pillar of ice that had once pierced straight through the [Abyss Realm] was now being broken down by the Abyss’s power.
The once-ubiquitous lifeforms had been reduced to only a small remnant.
The black-and-red figure listened to the voice from the other side of the door.
He reached out with a somewhat pale hand and selected a petite humanoid form from among the remaining Abyss lifeforms.
He couldn’t answer Ye Qiyan’s questions very well in his own way, so he figured it was better to let a human answer a human’s questions.
His consciousness sank into it.
His voice transformed.
The [Abyss] didn’t realize that there was really no need for Him to recount that humiliation at all.
He had been bewitched.
And so—
“Human, hear me out. You have to help me!”
“I’ll decide based on my mood.”
“I... was backstabbed by that despicable Water Ice...”
In a human voice, He recounted what had happened to Him some time ago.
One day, He suddenly discovered a peculiar spatial rift.
Inside that rift, there was a starry-sky beast He had never seen before.
He wanted to claim it, but that beast was incredibly powerful. Several high-level Abyss lifeforms He had sent were all swallowed in a single bite.
Normally, that would have been the end of it—like dealing with Ye Qiyan, He would have just given up.
But that beast somehow channeled its power into the Abyss Realm and proceeded to provoke and insult the Abyss.
At any other time, that would have been one thing.
But the spatial rift that beast was in didn’t require the Abyss to generate extreme despair just to enter, unlike the station worlds.
The Abyss grew furious.
So, He left the Abyss Realm in His true form, determined to capture that starry-sky beast and show off His power.
But the moment He stepped out of the [Abyss Realm]—
Another apex being of the Wasteland species, the True God Water Ice.
Carrying an ice-curtain apocalypse, forcefully drove right through His home the instant He left.
With someone ambushing His home, He was enraged and wanted to rush straight back.
But right at that moment—
The space around Him twisted wildly.
Fate’s power, space’s power... a host of lowly divine monsters used their own divinity to restrain and influence Him.
The Abyss was caught completely off guard by this sudden attack.
By the time He came to His senses, He had already been driven into a world specifically designed for Him.
A world filled with radiance and hope.
The Abyss’s despair was suppressed.
Countless divinities and the True God [Water Ice] launched attacks that seemed intent on utterly erasing Him from that world.
Fortunately, He was strong.
Though He had never undergone any training, He was the [Abyss].
The True God [Abyss].
He broke through the restraints, but was struck by the combined influence of Fate and Space, unable to find His way back to His Abyss Realm.
All He could do was feel His power and authority being devoured and vanish into nothing.
Until the last Wasteland day.
Some being extended help to Him.
“So, I made a deal with your train system. After signing the Abyss Agreement, that weird system of yours sent me back to the Abyss Realm. As long as I’m back here, I can regain control of my power and drive away all those bastards who called me stupid!”
So it was the system that had helped the Abyss.
That surprised him a little.
Ye Qiyan didn’t speak, waiting instead for the Abyss to answer his next question.
“I want revenge! Forget about that Water Ice bastard for now—but those despicable divine monsters! They dared to sneak into my home and steal from me! I’m going to kill every single one of them! And I mean forever, never letting them come back to life!”
“In other words, I want to slaughter those lowly monsters who call themselves gods. Absolutely not a single one can be spared!”
The sheer intensity of His hatred turned the sky above a different color.
“As for why I came to you? Human, you’re pretty stupid too. What’s so hard to understand about that? You’re so strong—you can even easily crush my Abyss lifeforms. More importantly, you’re still alive, yet you know [Death]. Obviously, you must be on pretty good terms with Him, and you’re definitely strong enough.”
The door to the Abyss rippled constantly.
“The God of Space and the God of Fate—those two bastards are the root of everything.”
“They call themselves Supremes.”
“Bullshit!”
“They’re just lowly monsters with a bit more authority and divinity!”
“Kill them within a hundred wasteland years, and that counts as completing my... uh, deal? Oh no, task—yes, task!”
“When you do, I’ll give you... give you... hmm... a share of my authority...”
He seemed extremely conflicted when He mentioned the final reward.
A share of Abyss authority—it really did seem precious.
But—
“What good is a measly bit of authority? Give me something substantial. I’m just an ordinary human. Defeating two Supreme Gods within a mere hundred wasteland years is way too hard~”
“So, if you really want me to do this...”
“You’ll have to sweeten the pot.”
Ye Qiyan, was lying~
Because slaying a god?
Wasn’t really all that difficult.
