Adrian Hawthorne understood what Madman meant and said, "Worrying about it won’t help. Mrs. Hawthorne can only be my mother, and the Hawthorne family’s fortune can only be mine."

Madman poured the first brew into the cups to rinse them and started to prepare the second. Only then did he glance at Adrian Hawthorne across from him. "Don’t be so overconfident."

It’s normal for a young man to be full of himself. He had been one, too. That fiery spirit gives you drive, but you’ll inevitably hit some walls. One wrong move and you could end up battered and broken. He’d learned that the hard way—it had nearly cost him his life, and the experience had finally worn down his own hot-headedness.

’Adrian Hawthorne is a sharp and capable kid, but he’s a kid nonetheless. That woman with Ethan Hawthorne is no simple character, and her ambition is even greater. I’m afraid Adrian won’t come out on top.’

"I have faith in my father," Adrian Hawthorne explained.

Ethan Hawthorne wouldn’t let a mistress take his wife’s place. He might give the woman some benefits, but he would never allow her to become Mrs. Hawthorne. The Hawthornes had no such precedent. As long as his mother was alive, Mrs. Hawthorne would always be his mother.

No one could replace his mother’s position.

It didn’t matter how capable that woman was.

The second pot of tea came to a boil. Madman poured a cup and gestured for Adrian Hawthorne to drink. The bitter tea quenched some of the heat in Adrian’s chest, leaving a lingering sweetness in his throat. Madman drank a cup himself.

"Don’t have too much faith in men."

Madman poured another cup of tea, saying no more on the subject. ’Adrian is still a child, after all, taking things for granted. Having faith in Ethan Hawthorne? Hmph... When it comes to women, a man’s promise isn’t worth shit. And Ethan Hawthorne is no exception.’

Adrian Hawthorne’s expression grew thoughtful. Madman’s words had made him more cautious. ’Maybe after I head back, I should go to Tristone to find my father. And get a look at that woman, see what she’s really made of.’

A wave of heat surged in his chest again, and his throat felt incredibly dry. It was as if a ball of fire was burning in his core. Sweat beaded on his forehead, and Adrian wiped it away several times. He looked across at Madman, who was perfectly calm and composed, without a single drop of sweat.

"Capria is much hotter than Vessaria."

Adrian Hawthorne wiped away his sweat. The ceiling fan overhead was on high, but it only blew hot air, making him feel even hotter. His throat felt like it was on fire. He poured and drank a cup of tea, but the kung fu teacups were as small as pigeon eggs. Drinking from it was like drinking nothing at all. Adrian wished he could just grab the teapot and chug it all down.

"Kids are just full of fire. Go out and drink some cooling tea."

Madman was a little envious. ’His own heart was as still as water now; he couldn’t get worked up even if he wanted to.’

Adrian Hawthorne shot up and rushed out. He drank the entire large pot of cooling tea, leaving his stomach bloated, but he felt no relief from the heat. He was covered in sweat, his face was flushed red, and steam was practically rising from his head.

"Go back to your room and take a cold shower! Hurry up!"

The more Will watched, the more his heart ached over the waste. The man who sold him the donkey dick hadn’t been lying; it really worked like a charm! Just half of one was this potent. ’He had to make the Boss eat the other half, no matter what,’ he thought. ’It can’t go to waste.’

Adrian Hawthorne immediately ran back. ’He desperately wanted to jump into a pool right now,’ he thought. ’He was burning up! No wonder they call Capria a furnace; this summer heat is unbearable.’

Madman came out of the study. Seeing Adrian Hawthorne running so fast, he remarked with envy, "Kids these days sure are full of fire!"

Will’s mouth twitched. He couldn’t help but say, "That’s the donkey dick soup working, Boss. I spent all afternoon in the countryside looking for that donkey dick. You didn’t drink a single drop, and those little brats drank it all..."

The chattering Will didn’t notice the increasingly ugly look on Madman’s face. He was still lamenting his precious donkey dick—a one-in-a-million top-grade specimen, wasted by the Boss.

"That soup was donkey dick soup? You made it for me on purpose?" Madman narrowed his eyes, staring coldly at Will.
