"What do we do now? How about we just take out this homewrecker?" A vicious look crossed Jim Thorne’s face. He was a firm believer in striking first, and the more he thought about it, the more excited he became. "The enemy is out in the open, and we’re in the shadows. Let’s take her out in secret."

"Are you an idiot? Murder is against the law. You think trading your life for that homewrecker’s is a good deal?" Patrick Thorne slapped his younger brother on the back of the head. ’So damn stupid.’ He would never commit to such a foolish act—one that would cost him a thousand to inflict eight hundred in damage.

"I’m not the one doing something stupid. I said Adrian Hawthorne should do it. That homewrecker is after him, not me." Jim Thorne rubbed the back of his head and rolled his eyes at his older brother. ’He wasn’t that stupid.’

Adrian Hawthorne laughed in exasperation. "If even you won’t do it, what makes you think I would?"

’What a complete idiot!’

He certainly wasn’t going to risk his life fighting that woman. Patrick Thorne was right; trading his life for a homewrecker’s wasn’t worth it in the slightest.

"So what are you going to do? Just wait for that homewrecker to find you and your mother?" Jim Thorne asked with concern.

Adrian Hawthorne frowned. He hadn’t come up with a good plan yet. He had originally intended to find his father after this trip, but now he was hesitating. The information about him and his mother had to have come from his father, so what exactly did his father mean by this?

’Could it be that his father agrees with this woman?’

Adrian Hawthorne’s previously unwavering faith in his father was shaken. He was only twelve, not yet mature in his thinking, and with family matters involved, his mind was a mess.

"I think Kenneth should go see his father. It would be better to ask him clearly in person. Maybe things aren’t as we imagine," Clayton Xavier suggested.

"And what if his old man refuses to acknowledge them? If he really missed his wife and son, and it’s not like he doesn’t know where they live, why hasn’t he come looking for them in four years? He must have found some homewrecker and had a change of heart!" Jim Thorne grumbled.

Adrian Hawthorne’s expression changed. What Jim Thorne said this time was actually quite possible. Why hadn’t his father come looking for him and his mother?

"Let me ask you something. Is your dad very rich?" Ellie Ashton asked.

"He has some money," Adrian Hawthorne nodded.

"Then you definitely should go find your dad. You’re the legitimate son! All that money belongs to you and your mother. You have to take back what’s yours. Let me tell you, you can dump the dad, but you absolutely have to get the money. Once you have the money, you can find a new dad and piss them both off!"

Ellie Ashton spoke with righteous indignation, but her words left everyone dumbfounded. Get a new dad... Though shocking and utterly unconventional, it was a brilliant idea.

If a dad was no good, it was only natural to replace him. With Rosalind Green’s beauty, finding a new man wouldn’t be difficult. In Clearspring Township, there was at least a company’s worth of men lined up to be a stepfather.

Adrian Hawthorne’s expression was wooden. He had no objection to the idea, but Rosalind Green would never agree. She would rather die than take a new husband. His maternal grandfather had taught his mother from a young age that a good woman never serves two husbands. ’His mom was completely poisoned by his grandfather’s teachings.’

"Mr. Hawthorne, the homewrecker’s surname is Shen, too. She’s staying in Room 602 at the Longquan Guesthouse," Tang Xiaonan said.

Adrian Hawthorne’s frown deepened. ’Her surname is Shen, too? Is she related to Jacqueline Spann?’

His first reaction, just like Tang Xiaonan’s, was to think of Jacqueline Spann. But he quickly concluded it must be a coincidence. ’The world isn’t that small.’

"Let’s finish up our business here first. We’ll talk about this again when we get back."

Adrian Hawthorne slowly calmed down. A trip to Tristone was inevitable. Moreover, he had a new idea. He hadn’t originally planned on entering the Tristone market, but now... he wanted to.

He was going to seize his father’s market.

It would be incredibly difficult.

But he wanted to try.

Only by becoming stronger than his father would he have any say in the matter.
