Adrian Hawthorne said seriously, "If you had really splashed it on her face, that woman would never have let it go. The train police wouldn’t have let you off, either. What happened was just enough. Even if you run into her again, don’t make a move. She’s not someone to be trifled with. I’ll deal with her myself."

’I can’t drag my friends into this.’ He had also seen the look in Bernice’s eyes as she was getting off the train, and he feared there would be more trouble to come. Fortunately, Patrick Thorne was sharp enough to give a fake address, but they still needed to be careful.

"I’m not afraid of that vixen!"

Jim Thorne snorted unhappily, feeling that Adrian Hawthorne was looking down on him. Patrick Thorne smacked him hard on the head. "Just behave yourself!"

’If I’d been there when he was getting the hot water, I would have stopped my brother. It wasn’t worth that moment of bravado. Besides, even if you’re going to do something, you can’t let yourself get caught. Wouldn’t it have been better to strike from the shadows?’

’That blockhead brother of mine is no match for that vixen. I’ll have to keep a closer eye on him from now on.’

Jim Thorne rubbed his head. Though indignant, he didn’t dare talk back to his brother.

Ellie Ashton tried to smooth things over. "Scalding her hand is punishment enough. A woman like that cares most about her looks, so a big scar on her hand is definitely going to affect her. Besides, there aren’t any really good scar-removal medicines these days. My aunt got a burn on her arm ten years ago, and the scar still hasn’t faded. My uncle searched for all sorts of medicine for her, but nothing worked."

Luckily, her aunt’s scar was on her upper arm, so it couldn’t be seen under long sleeves. But because of this, her aunt hadn’t worn short sleeves in ten years and couldn’t even wear her favorite dresses anymore.

"My family has a burn ointment that can remove your aunt’s scar. I’ll prepare some for you when we get back," Clayton Xavier said.

"It can really remove scars?"

Ellie Ashton was skeptical. After all, her uncle had searched all over the country and even used imported medicines, with only mediocre results. ’Is the medicine from Clayton Xavier’s family really that good?’

Clayton Xavier smiled and nodded. "Have you ever heard of Seven Snow Ointment?"

Tang Xiaonan and the others were all a bit stunned; they had never heard of this ointment. ’Is it that famous?’

Ellie Ashton, however, nodded in pleasant surprise. "My uncle has mentioned it! But that ointment is no longer in production, right? I think the owner went abroad. My uncle said it’s incredibly effective on scars, especially old ones from burns. Does your family have Seven Snow Ointment?"

Clayton Xavier felt a sense of gratification that someone still remembered the ointment his grandmother had invented. He smiled and said, "Seven Snow Ointment is from my family. It was my grandfather who went abroad, but my grandmother invented the ointment. I know how to formulate it, too. When we get back, I’ll prepare it and have Patrick bring it to you."

The ointment hadn’t originally had a name. After his grandmother married into the Xavier family, his grandfather, Anton Xavier, named it Seven Snow Ointment. His grandmother’s maiden name was Melissa, and his grandfather was the seventh in his family line. Combining ’Seven’ for his rank and ’Snow’ in honor of her name, he created the name. In those days, the ointment earned the Xavier family countless silver dollars. His grandfather took some of that money to start a business in Tristone, but in the end, he abandoned his grandmother.

Ellie Ashton was incredibly grateful. "Thank you so much! I never would have guessed you’re a descendant of the family behind Xavier’s Apothecary. My uncle looked for your family for so long but could never find you. Thank you!"

"You’re welcome. You’re a friend of Patrick’s, so of course I should help."

Clayton Xavier’s smile was incredibly warm. Patrick Thorne felt a pang of regret. ’Looks like I completely misjudged him,’ he thought. ’I’ve been a real jerk to the nerd this whole trip. I should buy him a roast chicken later to make up for it.’

Tang Xiaonan hadn’t expected Clayton Xavier’s family apothecary to have such an impressive background. ’This Seven Snow Ointment sounds incredible,’ she thought. ’If they patented it and set up a production line, they could make an absolute fortune.’
