VIVIAN

Vivian’s smile faded slightly.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN TO SEARCH MY BAGS?."

"I need to be sure it’s..?"

She shrugged. "You CAN’T search it. If you do, it means you believe I am the thief."

She had no idea why she had stayed. She should have left him. Maybe she wanted him to know she saved him so she can gain good points from him.

Or She simply couldn’t watch someone die when she could help. What if he gets attacked again when she leaves?

Nerion looked at her for a long moment. She looked away avoiding his eyes.

Nerion frowned.

Vivian’s eyes widened. "You really think I stole from you?"

Nerion looked at her. "I didn’t say..."

"You did!" She immediately lowered her head. Her shoulders trembled. Then came the tears. "I saved your life...I watched you, so you won’t get eaten by a beast."

Nerion froze. Vivian sniffed.

"And the first thing you do is accuse me of stealing from you."

"I..."

His expression changed.

He suddenly looked guilty. "Vivian, I’m sorry Princess.."

She slowly looked up at him through her lashes.

"I shouldn’t have suspected you. I know you love me alot."

Vivian sniffed again. "Better you know?"

"Yes."

She turned her face away dramatically. "Fine."

Nerion sighed. "I’m sorry."

The moment he looked away, Vivian’s lips curled into a tiny smile.

If I can’t handle Caelan, you think I can’t handle you?

She almost laughed. Then she turned to him. "Nerion. What about the pink pearls you promised me?"

He frowned and said in a low tone. " I didn’t make any promises."

She pretended not to hear him. "What did you say?"

He scratches his face. "Um..I got them for you. I looked for you but I didn’t see your house. It’s missing. And you didn’t come to saint and saintess like you promised." he sighs. "You changed the academy without my permission."

She raised her brows up. "Why do I need his permission?" she said to herself.

"You stopped picking my calls and messages.I thought you got a new boyfriend."

Vivian said with a sweet smile. "I changed my name to my father’s. You know that right? So I have to go to him."

He asked in a serious tone. "Why? Does that mean you and Elena aren’t sisters anymore?"

Her lips curled up. "Why asking? Do you like my sister too?"

His cheeks turned red. "No..no..I. ..I..don’t..I love only you."

She sighs. He still thinks I don’t know he is using me as her substitute.

Then Nerion’s expression suddenly became serious. "Vivian."

His voice was quieter this time. "That blue scale necklace is very important to me."

Vivian’s smile disappeared.

"I can’t lose it." He slowly stood. Nerion adjusted his clothes.

"I have to find it."

He glanced at her backpack.

"I don’t care about the Quantum Space Ring. I don’t care about the Beast Cores."

His eyes became serious. "That necklace is different."

Vivian’s heart sank. Oh?

She touched the necklace hidden inside her pocket.

Maybe I should give it back.

He looked at her.

"I’ll return soon. Wait here."

Then he turned and walked away. Vivian watched his back disappear between the trees.

She pulled the necklace from her pocket. The blue scales shimmered beneath her fingers.

"Should I give this back?"

She frowned, staring at it in her hand.

"If I tell him I took it, I’ll look like a thief. Or maybe I could say I found it on the ground..."

She paused, then grimaced. "Yeah, that sounds fake as hell."

She shrugged. "Whatever. I don’t care if I have to lie. He lied to Vivian too, every time he told her he was seventeen when he was actually twenty."

A sly smile tugged at her lips.

"Poor Vivian thinks she has a cute little boyfriend. Meanwhile, he’s actually two years older than her."

She sighed. "Fine. I’ll give it to him when we meet again."

Inside her consciousness, Beeny slapped her tiny forehead. "What kind of corrupted mind does my master have?"

Vivian ignored her.

She pulled out her student ID. Crack. The ID shattered.

A teleportation light immediately surrounded her body.

"Goodbye, Nerion."

She disappeared.

NERIONA few minutes later, several figures rushed through the forest.

Their uniforms were soaked from the sea.

One of them immediately dropped to one knee.

"Forgive me, Your Highness."

Nerion turned. His expression had completely changed.

The playful weakness was gone. His eyes were cold. "What happened?"

"Our ship capsized while crossing the border. We lost contact with you."

Another guard lowered his head. "How could Anan betray you?"

Nerion’s expression hardened. "Anan?" He clenched his fist.

His guard said. "He has pledged his allegiance to your sister."

He was silent for a moment. Nerion’s fingers curled. "Find his family."

The guards exchanged glances.

"Your Highness?"

"I want every member of his family punished. Does he think I will let him go unpunished?."

His voice was dangerously calm. "They must tell us where he is."

He paused.

"And if they refuse..."

His eyes turned cold. "I don’t need to teach you what to do right?"

One of the guards immediately stepped forward with a small injector. "Your Highness, you need this."

Nerion allowed the guard to inject the strength-enhancing serum.

His weakened body slowly recovered. His breathing steadied.

His eyes sharpened. Then he remembered. "The necklace."

The guard froze.

"Your Highness?"

"My Aphana necklace."

The man’s face changed. "You lost it?"

Nerion raised his hand. "Find it."

"But Your Highness, that necklace carries your royal identity. If someone discovers..."

"I know and I said find it."

The guard immediately bowed.

"Yes, Your Highness."

He turned toward the other guards. "Search the entire forest! Find a blue scale necklace!"

The guards scattered. Nerion suddenly remembered something.

"Wait."

He turned.

"Have...have.. you encountered a female..."

"A female?"

"She had..."

Nerion paused. How was he supposed to explain it?

"A strange golden creature came out of her palm."

The guard stared at him confused..

"It had teeth."

Silence. "....And it ate the Orcs."

The guard looked nervous.

"Your Highness..."

"What?"

"Was it a mutated beast?"

"No."

Nerion’s eyes narrowed. "It was a female."

The guard looked even more confused.

"Perhaps she was a beast in human disguise."

Nerion sighed.

"Forget it."

He turned away. "Perhaps I was dreaming."

But deep inside...He knew he wasn’t. He knew Vivian held a big secret..right now he was interested to know.

ELENA"Move!"

The hospital automatic doors flew open. Several students rushed Elena inside. Her fans and dog lickers were all worried for her.

Blood covered her clothes. Emelianna stood up immediately. She was already informed of the incident. She came running to the hospital first. "Elena!"

She hurried toward her daughter. "Who did this to you?"

Elena struggled to open her eyes.

A male student standing beside her answered. "It was the man who stole our Beast Core."

Emelianna’s expression darkened. "He attacked my daughter?"

"He was extremely strong. If he hadn’t attacked the beast, Elena wouldn’t be this badly injured."

Emelianna gently touched Elena’s hair. "I’m sorry, my princess."

Her voice trembled. "I wasn’t there to protect you."

Elena’s fingers tightened around the sheets. "Mother..."

"I’m here."

"Find her."

Emelianna frowned. "Who?"

"The person who stole the Beast Core."

Elena’s breathing became heavier. "It’s not a man."

"What?"

"A female."

Elena closed her eyes. "I could sense her spiritual energy."

Emelianna’s expression changed. "You’re certain?"

"Yes."

Elena opened her eyes again. "She’s the one who attacked me...."

Emelianna turned toward her guards. "Listen carefully."

The guards immediately stood straight. "Seal the forest entrance.."

She looked toward the hospital window.

"Anyone who entered that forest during the assessment must be investigated."

Her eyes became cold. "And put a reward on the woman responsible."

The guard bowed.

"How high, Your Highness?"

Emelianna’s gaze hardened. "High enough that someone will be willing to sell their own mother to find her."

The guard immediately saluted. "Yes, Princess."

Elena closed her eyes. She didn’t know who the mysterious woman was. But she felt that woman had taken something that was supposed to belong to her and she wanted it back at all cost.
