Outside the barrier of the Nyx camp a woman in a dark robe stood at the guard post. The robe stretched tight over her heavy breasts and thick ass while she shouted in a language none of the guards understood. The man on duty kept shaking his head, face blank and awkward.
She sighed, turned, and caught sight of Neo walking up with Luna and Sakura. Her eyes sharpened. She crossed the ground fast and spoke straight to Neo in the same strange tongue. Luna and Sakura heard only noise. Neo heard every word clear.
"Do you know where the chief of Stormfang is? I asked in his tribe. His wife Sai told me he is not there. She was the only one who could talk to me. I have this problem everywhere—people cannot understand my language."
Neo opened his mouth. Nothing came out. He understood her perfectly, yet the universal translation skill his system had given him refused to let him answer. He wondered if the skill had a hard limit. He sighed, pointed at his own chest, and forced out one broken word in her speech.
"Chief."
The woman tilted her head. "What’s?"
A system window snapped open in front of Neo’s eyes.
**Quest: Get accepted as this female dark mage’s disciple and pass her trial.**
**Failure: Death + death of your harem.**
**Reward: Dual cultivation scroll. 10 million mana stones.**
**Time remaining: 2 days.**
He understood the problem at once. No one here could talk to her properly except Sai. He turned to Luna.
"Go back to the tribe. Bring Sai. Now."
Luna nodded and left at a run toward the Nyx camp. The distance was too far to cover on foot; she would need a horse.
As she moved, her thoughts stayed locked on the same drive that always pushed her. She refused to stay ordinary. She wanted to become the strongest hunter alive, master every spear technique that existed, and build a training ground where she could teach the younger ones the way of the spear. She pictured a dojo with their house on top of it—days spent drilling students until they dropped, nights spent under Neo, taken hard until she could not think. She wanted him proud to call her his woman. She wanted the others to envy the place she held.
Those wants sat on top of older cracks. She avoided hard truths. She needed constant proof she still mattered. The fear of being left behind never fully left her. The more she chased strength, the more she worried she would forget to give him the attention he needed. She wanted to tell him about the low self-worth that still lived inside her, but the thought of adding extra weight to his shoulders stopped the words every time.
Neo watched her go, then looked at Sakura. A hunch formed. Sai’s daughter might share the same language gift. First he checked the woman’s status.
**Lilith (Trapped Form)**
**Tribeman King (Middle Rank)**
His eyes widened. Lilith. The demon. That explained why Sai could speak with her. Sakura, as Sai’s daughter, should be able to as well.
"Sakura. Talk to her."
Sakura stepped forward. The two women spoke easily, a long stretch of words Neo could only half-follow through the system’s residual understanding. When they finished, Sakura turned back to him.
"She agrees to come to the castle. But she wants to ask you something first."
"From me? What is it?"
"She says you look fit to pass her trial. She wants you to try it."
Neo nodded.
Lilith smiled. A wand appeared in her hand. She touched the tip to his forehead.
The world vanished.
Neo opened his eyes in an empty black space. Nothing moved. Nothing made sound. He turned in a full circle and found only dark.
Then a familiar voice called for help—Martha’s voice.
He ran toward it.
Something wet hit his arm. Blood dripped. His hand went cold and dropped to the ground.
Martha stepped out of the dark holding a blade. Black armor covered her body. Devil horns curled from her head.
"You fell for it, boy."
Neo pulled a spear from his inventory and shaped light around the tip. The figure in front of him looked like Martha, but twisted into something else.
"Who’s Martha?" she asked. "That is simply my unique racial skill. It makes you see the people you love most."
She lifted the blade and lunged. Neo barely twisted aside. The edge still cut deep into his shoulder.
He opened the system. It still worked even here. He scrolled the shop until he found a combat simulation for one thousand mana stones and bought it.
First run: he lasted five minutes. Evil Martha cut him into pieces.
Second simulation: he focused on one gap in her defense, took wounds, lost an arm, forced an opening—then died the moment exhaustion hit.
Third: pure defense. He held for ten minutes. She smiled, snapped her fingers, and dropped them both into a swamp filled with dark liquid. Every step grew heavier until he could barely raise the spear.
Fourth: he drank the liquid the swamp offered. Horns pushed from his skull. Strength exploded until he matched her power. But the earlier damage from his human form carried over; the second phase left him weaker than he should have been.
He ran more simulations after that, mapping the pattern each time. Conserve everything. Save the transformation for the exact moment it would end the fight. When the feedback settled into his mind he snapped his eyes open, sharp and ready.
He transformed, closed the distance, and killed the false Martha. The change tore at his body from the inside. He pulled the Book of Life from inventory and forced the revival before the damage finished him.
A system notification flashed: Trial complete.
Neo opened his eyes again in front of Lilith. She cleared her throat, face faintly red from residual heat, and spoke a long stretch of words to Sakura.
Lilith studied Neo’s face while she talked. One clear purpose drove her: find a disciple worthy of the dual cultivation book that belonged to a dead friend, and honor the last request by giving it away. After that she would leave this human realm, reclaim her strength, and kill the one who now sat on the devil throne—Queen Any, who had hunted down every ally she once had. She wanted the truth of why she had been born. Demons existed beyond this small continent; the ones here were only weak copies. She hoped Neo might one day help her uncover the rest.
Under those goals sat older habits. Deep fear of failure. Avoidance of anything emotional. A tendency to sabotage herself before anyone else could. Difficulty with honesty when the truth cut too close.
And something new she did not understand: a pull toward Neo that felt like wanting. She planned to examine it later. Sex with him crossed her mind, but she feared it would turn everything transactional. For now the book and the debt to the dead came first. If paths crossed again, she would ask her personal questions then.
Sakura finished listening and faced Neo.
"You passed. She is giving you this as the reward." Lilith held out a book. Sakura continued, "It is a dual cultivation manual. Used together in bed it raises both partners’ strength. Even keeping it on you gives passive sexual knowledge."
Neo tilted his head. "That’s it? The Martha copy—was that connected to her?"
He shook the thought away. Free book. No reason to refuse.
Sakura added, "She will leave now that she has found a disciple. If you want to meet her again, grow stronger, reach the human kingdoms, and ask about her. Or... your roads may cross sooner."
Neo nodded then he saw Lilith vanished.
Neo shakes his head and he walked back to his castle in nyx tribe alongside skaura and Luna.
