Triple X System

Chapter 365: Blood Puppets (1)

"Your reaction hints at confusion slave. How long has it been since you were acquired by a master?" The beast calmly asked with its deep gruttal tone.

Standing still, Kyle tried to decipher what this strange creature meant. Apparently, he was the successor of the demon of lust. Which meant he was her master, sharing a dual bond link with Lilith.

And the system had clearly merged with him, so there was no other reason he could think of.

[I have a theory, but you might not like it.] Snow blurted out.

’What is it?’

[Well, for starters.. I was able to cross reference this beast gene and found out it’s nucleotides are a singular mutated.] Snow expressed her concern.

’So you’re saying this thing is in fact a clone of a incorrectly matched DNA sequence?’ Kyle asked, just to be sure he understood snow’s word.

[Yes and no. Yes in the sense it is a incorrectly matched DNA. But it wasn’t an accident.] Snow replied, further sending Kyle in a state of perplexing thoughts.

"It’s rude to ignore a superior being like me, Argos the brutal, that has the power to crush you little insect." Argos, the black humanoid goat grumbled.

His patience was very thin and running out, but his interest in Kyle lingered. A peculiar sight at first glance, nothing more, nothing less.

"Shut up. I’m trying to think." Kyle rudely frowned without batting an eye towards Argos. Further adding salt to the injury of the prideful creature.

’So you’re saying someone intentionally cross matched certain genes to develop this destabilizing DNA?’

[Yes.. And from the looks of it, this was done through a special technique called blood mutation.] Snow finished, just about the same second the ground began shaking.

Crossing his arms forward, he blocked the charging beast attack. Sending his body skidding back some few steps, across the red dirt.

[DAMAGE SUSTAINED: OPTIMAL]

[SUIT ENERGY CORE: 78%]

"That much drain from just it’s headbutt!?" Kyle grunted, slightly affected by the creature sudden hit mostly absorbed by the Aegis-V suit.

"Impressive slave, I thought you’d be dead by that hit." Argos commented with blood thirsty eyes.

[His strength is equivalent to yours, going to to toe with him with just your physique would be disadvantageous.] Snow interrupted in his head, causing Kyle to slightly roll his eyes.

’You think!?’

Materializing the shadow bow with shadow craft, he immediately pulled in the string. Creating the same replica of the shadow arrow earlier, coating it with more shadows to further solidify it’s effects.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Simultaneously the huge beastkin had already moved out. Each step the collosal figure took erupted in small dents, suffered by the red soil.

’How is it this fast.’ Kyle grunted annoyed by the beast explosive speed, similar to Koyuki’s thrusters Displacement.

7 meters, 6 meters..

Swoosh!

A black object cut through the air with uncanny speed, directed at the center of the beast head. There was a confident smirk plastered to Kyle’s lips, confident in what he created.

But his smile was going to be short lived, as the beast retained it’s path and speed. A fiery red glow similar to flames but entirely different, ignited in both it’s hands. Which it used to swat the shadow arrow to the side, forming a small hole upon impact.

"Impossible~" Kyle barely muttered, not believing what he just witnessed.

Bang! Bang!

The close rumbling from the beast pulled him from his thoughts. Sensing immediate collision, he was about dodging but remembered an important information.

"Elara." The witch with blonde hair had apparently gone unconscious, few minutes after her failed spell. So she was literally sitting duck, aligned in the path of the tanker bulldozer approaching.

"Shit." Cursing through his teeth, he switched the bow into something identical to the the frozen katana he wielded.

Bam!

The impact was imminent with an outburst of shockwave released from the impact.

"Mhm." The strain on Kyle was like nothing he’d ever felt before, pushing him back.

Promoting him to dig his leg into the soil for leverage, which still highly unfavored him.

"You’re holding back on me, I’m disappointed." Argos spoke, which Kyle ignored. Keeping the huge beast at bay with his own resolve, his interest lingered on a different spot on the beast.

Specifically his hands still lit on the strange red glow, similar to flames but without the intensity of fire. Having a more deeper shade of red, prior to the normal distinct yellow and red flame glow.

[Quest received!]

The system notification popped up in his retina, making him raise a brow.

’That’s new.’ It was approximately over a month, since the system assigned him a quest. But now this screen popped up in the weirdest of times.

[Discover more information about Blood puppets!]

[Reward: Unlock a portion of the first demon king diary.]

[Failure: Death.]

The information written was brief and short without context. But he didn’t have time to question or ponder, occupied with the beast in front.

Using his rght leg, he slammed it into the creature forehead.

Bam!

The force generated was great with little results. "For a clone, you sure are a cheap ass replacement."

Kyle taunted with a plan in mind.

Roar!

Enraged Argos slammed his left foot into the ground, attempting to lift Kyle sky high. But that was all the latter needed to throw the beast off it’s path.

"You’re strong, but clearly still not smart for a clone." He instigated, sidestepping the beast plunge, moving to it’s back with one swift motion. Placing the active shadow katana on the beast neck, pulling back with both hands on deck.

"Vermin! I’ll gouge out your eyes and bathe in your blood!" Argos screamed, his voice dripping with malice.

He tried taking advantage of his height to shake Kyle off, but the demon clung to him like a deadly parasite.

"Yeah, yeah.. Get in line." Kyle sarcastically retorded, drilling the kaatana into the creature thick skin.

There was resistance at first, considerable for a beast operating in it’s caliber. But without the hindrance of the red flames, the shadow katana cut right through the beast skin. Severing it’s head clean off from the socket.

Thud.

Argos lifeless body slumped to the ground, with Kyle still on his back. Red blood pouring out from his decapitated neck region.

"That was way easier than I anticipated." He frowned, sensing this was far from over. Something about Argos death didn’t sit right with him, and the fact those strange flames were still burning further clarified his doubts.

[I think you’re going to want to hear this Kyle.] Snow abruptly spoke up, piquing his interest.

’What did you find out?’

[I managed to analyze his blood sample from your contact while cutting off his head, and you two are related.] She dropped the bombshell on Kyle, making him freeze on spot.

"What the hell do you mean we’re related!?" Kyle screamed without a care in the world, not bothered about attracting attention.

[Jeez.. someone’s a drama queen.] Snow clicked her tongue at Kyle’s over-the-counter reaction.

[I don’t mean gene related but blood. Remember the blood contract you signed with Vladimir?] She asked, causing his expression to stiffen.

"What about it?"

[As you’re already aware, both of you share a blood link. Which means, he can effortlessly sense you within range and likewise. Same goes for this goat-like creature. It’s just another clone from Vladimir created with his blood, stationed on this planet to do his bidding.] Snow continued with a sense of urgency in her tone.

Listening to her, his hand couldn’t stop shaking. Not from fear, but from rage upon hearing such name and the fact they were still linked by a blood pact.

"If this thing is his clone and it’s here, that means Vladimir must’ve been aware I’m here the moment we landed."

Having a brief idea of blood pact and vampire tradition, he knew how the system worked.

[Yes. Unlike the blood pact you’re bound by, he has limited control and access to you. Big sister Lilith made sure if it.] Snow giggled in an innocent voice, earning a chuckle from kyle.

[But compared to a blood puppet created solely from his blood, there are no restrictions. He should’ve received two alerts the moment you arrived from the clone connection, and the second you severed it’s head.]

Raising a brow, Kyle was found it weird snow used severed instead of killed. But he didn’t have to question long, clearly picking up bone snapping sounds.

"Not bad for a demon slave." Argos grinned, his spilt blood reattaching his head back to his body within seconds.

"Great.. now I’ll be emotionally tormented and stressed out by killing you twice." Kyle replied with a light sigh, the tip of the katana pointed at Argos.

"Your unhinged satire won’t save you from what’s about to come. We’ll see how well you fair against your missing partners." Argos snarled, the red glow burning intensely in both his hands.
