Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Top-tier Team
「Two days later.」
Inside a conference room at the Zhen Cui Group headquarters.
Gu Heng sat at the head of the table, with Luo Xiwen on his right. On his left were Huang Xue, the Vice President of Xinghuo Fitness Studio, and eight of the studio’s top training experts.
"Chairman Gu, please allow me to make the formal introductions."
Gu Heng and Huang Xue had already met the day before, but this was his first time meeting the rest of the group.
"Since its establishment, Xinghuo Fitness Studio has been dedicated to providing elite members of society like yourself with our holistic physique management services."
"Each team at our studio is a top-tier training group composed of multidisciplinary experts. We use a host of scientific methods—such as precision training, scientific nutrition, and medical monitoring—and integrate cutting-edge international sports science with Eastern wellness philosophies to develop a personalized training plan for you."
As the Xinghuo Fitness Studio Vice President in charge of major clients, Huang Xue’s image, poise, and eloquence were impeccable.
"Chairman Gu, the training team we have assembled for you is our studio’s ace team. Every member possesses a wealth of training experience in their area of expertise."
At this, Huang Xue turned her head.
"Zou Lei, our expert in sports performance and postural correction. He is certified by the International Federation of Sports Medicine and has designed post-competition recovery programs for IOC athletes."
"For the next 65 days, he will serve as your head coach. He’ll be responsible for developing your overall training plan and coordinating with the other experts to ensure it is both scientifically sound and safe."
As Huang Xue finished her introduction, the middle-aged man seated to her immediate left stood up. He bowed slightly, extending both his hands toward Gu Heng. "Chairman Gu, it’s an honor to be at your service."
"Coach Zou, I look forward to working with you."
Gu Heng rose from his seat at the head of the table and responded with a smile.
"I look forward to it!"
Zou Lei grasped Gu Heng’s outstretched hand with both of his and nodded firmly.
Huang Xue stood by, smiling as the two exchanged pleasantries before she continued with the introductions.
"Yu Ting, a registered nutritionist and a consultant in Traditional Chinese Medicine dietetics."
"Over the next 65 days, she will be responsible for designing a precision dietary plan for you. She will employ carb cycling combined with a protein-pulse strategy, adjust your daily caloric deficit based on metabolic testing to prevent muscle loss, and provide supplement recommendations."
Following the introduction, Yu Ting stood up. Since she was a bit far from Gu Heng, she walked around Zou Lei and Huang Xue and strode quickly to stand before him.
"Chairman Gu, I’m Yu Ting. It is an honor to be at your service."
Yu Ting said respectfully.
"I look forward to working with you."
Gu Heng replied softly, a smile on his face.
"Likewise!"
Yu Ting also shook Gu Heng’s hand before quickly returning to her spot to stand properly.
Next, Huang Xue continued the introductions in order.
Head Coach, Registered Nutritionist, Sports Performance Expert (Strength), Sports Performance Expert (Cardio), Sports Performance Expert (Boxing), Doctor of Sports Medicine, Sports Rehabilitation Expert, and Psychological Intervention Specialist.
This was the top-tier training team Xinghuo Fitness Studio had provided for Gu Heng.
For the next 65 days, they would remain in Beichun to provide Gu Heng with round-the-clock service.
After introducing every member of the team, Huang Xue turned to Zou Lei and gestured. "Coach Zou, why don’t you take it from here and introduce the training plan we’ve tailor-made for Chairman Gu?"
"Of course."
Zou Lei nodded and pulled a report, about half a finger thick, from his backpack.
"Chairman Gu, this is the training plan we prepared for you overnight."
Zou Lei handed the plan to Gu Heng with both hands. "Because time was tight, some of the details in this plan will need to be refined as we go."
Gu Heng accepted the report and began flipping through it casually.
"Chairman Gu, the training plan we’ve designed for you is divided into three phases."
"The first phase is the adaptation period, which is expected to last two weeks."
"Our goal is to establish neuromuscular adaptation and lower the risk of injury."
Zou Lei explained as Gu Heng continued to flip through the report.
"The second phase is the intensification period, projected to last five weeks."
"Our goal is to maximize fat oxidation and increase your muscle mass."
"And the third phase is the final sprint, which will also last for two weeks."
"Our goal is to help you break through your plateau, optimize your muscle definition, and ensure your body fat percentage remains stable at under 15%."
...
The report in Gu Heng’s hands was far more detailed than Zou Lei’s verbal summary.
The report provided a preliminary outline for each phase, detailing its goals, training regimen, schedule, supplements, physical therapy plan, and required equipment.
Many of the items listed were things Gu Heng had never even heard of.
For example, hydraulic resistance trainers, holographic projection motion capture systems, EMS training suits, and pneumatic circulation therapy devices... It all sounded incredibly high-tech and impressive, even if he didn’t fully understand it.
Looking at the plan before him, Gu Heng couldn’t help but feel a swell of emotion.
’If I’d had a professional team like this assisting me with my first challenge, I wouldn’t have ended up training myself into the hospital.’
Zou Lei took about fifteen minutes to give Gu Heng a brief overview of the tailor-made training plan.
"Chairman Gu, are there any training methods in this plan that you would find uncomfortable?"
Zou Lei asked politely, "If there are any methods you find uncomfortable, we can make adjustments and replace them with other forms of training."
"No."
"As long as it helps me lose body fat quickly, I can endure any kind of training."
Gu Heng shook his head, then looked toward Luo Xiwen. "Xi Wen, has the training venue been arranged?"
"It’s all arranged."
"I already wired them the advance payment this morning."
Luo Xiwen nodded quickly in response.
Today, she wore a pure white business blouse paired with a beige, form-fitting skirt. The outfit made her appear even more dignified and beautiful, and the Cartier diamond necklace she wore added a touch of class.
"Do you have the equipment list?"
Gu Heng asked Luo Xiwen.
"I do."
Luo Xiwen opened the folder in front of her and pulled out a sheet of A4 paper.
Gu Heng took it and handed it to Zou Lei. "Coach Zou, we’ve rented a high-end private training studio here in Beichun. This is their equipment list. See if there’s anything we need to supplement it with. I’ll have someone purchase it immediately."
Zou Lei took the equipment list and read it over carefully.
He then shook his head and replied, "Chairman Gu, this basic equipment is sufficient. As for the high-end auxiliary equipment, our studio has brought its own. You don’t need to prepare anything further."
"Good."
Gu Heng gave a slight nod, his gaze sweeping over everyone present.
"In that case, shall we start today?"
Time was precious. Every second counted.
"We can!"
