In Chengdu, that price was definitely top of the market.

There were plenty of people in Chengdu with 40 million to their name.

But those willing to spend 40 million on a villa were few and far between.

Black Jade Island had been on the market for several years and still hadn’t sold out.

The reason, of course, was the exorbitant price tag.

This was especially true for the 830-square-meter "king villa" that Qi Sheng was here to see, which was in the awkward position of being for sale but having no buyers.

The official asking price was 150 million, but that was just nonsense.

Chu Qing’s eyes widened, and she couldn’t help but gasp.

"This villa has sixteen living rooms?"

"Ahem. Foreign designers just don’t understand our local needs. They insist on benchmarking against places like Hyde Park in the United Kingdom, so you end up with fewer bedrooms than living rooms and bathrooms."

"The one you’re looking at is actually one of the better ones. Some of the smaller units here only have four bedroom suites. I have no idea what the designer was thinking. If you have friends over, there’s nowhere for them to sleep."

On the other side of the kitchen, a glass door led outdoors.

Lounge chairs were placed beside it, perfect for lazing around on an idle day.

The master bedroom was set three steps higher, while the secondary bedrooms were two steps higher.

The design of the master bedroom gave off an immediate impression of being both stylish and warm.

The light-toned furniture ensured the space felt open and airy, not at all oppressive.

The art pieces on display were understated, yet they exuded a sense of refined taste.

The master bedroom and bathroom weren’t completely separated.

The space behind the TV wall was dedicated entirely to the bathroom.

’I could be watching TV while Tan Hua takes a shower right here in the bathroom,’ Qi Sheng imagined.

He couldn’t help but approve of this design choice.

A triangular Duravit bathtub, a limited-edition Villeroy & Boch toilet, and a Hansgrohe shower system.

Every detail proclaimed the status and prestige of a top-tier luxury home.

The six bedrooms on the second and third floors would be just barely enough for Qi Sheng and his large "family."

’The beds, though, would definitely have to be replaced.’

A standard two-by-two-meter bed was clearly not going to cut it.

’I’d need a bed that’s at least three-by-two meters to have enough room for me and my girlfriends to fool around.’

’As for how they’d be grouped up, that wasn’t for me to worry about.’

Down on the first floor was where the whole "family" would have their fun.

Over a dozen dining chairs in an imperial red hue surrounded a long, oval glass table.

A black, three-dimensional piece of wall art hung nearby, with double-layered, warm-toned strip lighting overhead.

It was a very impressive space, perfect for both casual family meals and formal dinner parties.

Next to the dining area was a curved, steel-plate wine rack.

’I can stock it with plenty of good wine later.’

’We can have a drink at home instead of going to some smoky, seedy bar.’

Behind the bar was a private gym.

It was fully equipped with standard floor-to-ceiling mirrors and every piece of workout equipment one could possibly need.

Qi Sheng was quite pleased with this part of the design.
