Chapter 209: This Female Disciple Is ImpressiveChapter 209: Chapter 209: This Female Disciple Is Impressive
Wang Chenning knew Wu Ziyue was stirred, but he wasn’t looking for her to repay him in that way.
So, just as Wu Ziyue was about to lose control, he quickly induced her to fall asleep.
And so, as his massage grew even gentler, Wu Ziyue drifted into a deep sleep.
Wang Chenning was actually grateful he had spent a wild night with Luo Yuqing, otherwise he really wouldn’t have been able to resist.
Of course, this was another reason he had rejected Wu Ziyue’s advances. He was a little ashamed at the thought of being with two different women just hours apart.
He rose early the next day. After getting up, he laid out a change of clothes for Wu Ziyue and placed the large gift bag by her bed.
He then prepared breakfast for her and wrote a note telling her she could let herself out when she woke up.
Then, he headed to the university early.
Of course, there was no way Zhang Manxin and Lin Qingyan could have elevated their acupuncture skills to the Grandmaster Level in a single night.
They practiced countless times, but their highest score was only 301.
The long hours of practice had left their arms and legs aching and their bodies drained of all strength.
But the two of them never rested or slacked off. They practiced continuously until Wang Chenning walked in again.
"Master!" Lin Qingyan stood beside Wang Chenning, looking pitiful. "We really can’t do it. Please, forgive us! We know we were wrong. We’ll never do something so stupid again!"
With a weary expression, Zhang Manxin also stood beside Wang Chenning, her head bowed as she admitted her mistake. She promised they would turn over a new leaf and strive to surpass their peers in every way.
They also repeatedly assured him that they would become truly outstanding.
Finally, the two women each took one of Wang Chenning’s arms, pleading sweetly. They promised to prove their worth through their actions and make him see them in a completely new light.
Wang Chenning hadn’t punished them just to make their lives difficult; he simply wanted to see a change in their attitude. Seeing how obedient they had become, he seized the opportunity to relent. He forgave them and told them to go back and get some rest.
Since they had been practicing their acupuncture techniques all night, the two hadn’t been back to their own rooms. Wang Chenning told them to go freshen up and get some sleep.
But to his surprise, both Zhang Manxin and Lin Qingyan shook their heads and refused. They insisted on following the same schedule as the others, saying they didn’t want any special treatment.
"Alright!" Wang Chenning said no more and went to prepare for his lecture.
After freshening up a little, Zhang Manxin and Lin Qingyan headed to the classroom ahead of everyone else to claim their seats.
All twenty-some of his new disciples were early risers, and they all went to claim their seats well in advance. They had learned from the previous night that if you were late, you wouldn’t get a seat at all, let alone a good one.
The regular students who arrived early to snag front-row seats were dumbfounded. Where had all these unfamiliar faces come from?
However, since most of these new faces belonged to beautiful young women and handsome young men, no one made a fuss.
When Wang Chenning arrived to begin the lecture, he first introduced his new disciples to the rest of the students.
He told the students that while these disciples were new, their professional foundations were much stronger than the average student’s. He explained that any one of them was capable of seeing patients independently and even treating many difficult and complex cases. For that reason, once they passed his personal assessment, they could officially call themselves his disciples and would be considered prime candidates for the first group of graduate students.
"If any of you feel it’s unfair, you’re welcome to study harder and try to match their level of professional expertise!"
When the students heard Wang Chenning explain that his new disciples all came from families with long lineages in traditional medicine and had been studying it since childhood, the murmurs of discontent quickly faded.
Wang Chenning had considered calling a few of them up to demonstrate their skills, but seeing that none of the students objected, he let it go.
He had prepared meticulously for the two-hour lecture, and the content was more brilliant than anything he had taught before. It was a pleasant surprise for his original students and a shock to his new disciples. ’So, listening to lectures on traditional Chinese medicine theory isn’t boring after all!’
Many of them posted about Wang Chenning’s class on their social media, and the tone of their feeds had completely changed. Yesterday’s posts were full of complaints underestimating him, but today’s were filled with unanimous praise.
After the lecture, Wang Chenning was completely surrounded by his new disciples asking questions. The other students who wanted to get closer to him couldn’t even get near.
Ultimately, Wang Chenning left the classroom flanked by a crowd of his disciples, leaving the other students behind, grumbling with resentment.
During the break before lunch, Wang Chenning took the opportunity to assess the skills of a few of his disciples.
The first to be assessed was Chang Qingfeng. As the oldest of the group, his skills were unsurprisingly high, and Wang Chenning gave his performance a nod of approval.
The second to be assessed was Wu Jianyan’s granddaughter, Wu Jingyi, a quiet and gentle young woman with the refined air of a lady from a prominent family.
Since becoming Wang Chenning’s disciple, Wu Jingyi had barely spoken a word, yet it was impossible for anyone to overlook her.
While none of the female disciples under Wang Chenning lacked in looks or figure, Wu Jingyi was still the most striking.
The quiet, beautiful, and poised Wu Jingyi also demonstrated a unique skill for Wang Chenning.
Her acupuncture skills showed that she had inherited Wu Jianyan’s true teachings; overall, she was even more outstanding than Chang Qingfeng.
Furthermore, her mastery of the four diagnostic methods and other fundamental skills was also exceptionally proficient.
"Do you have any other extraordinary skills?" Wang Chenning asked Wu Jingyi with a smile. "Outside of medicine, that is!"
"I’m versed in the four classical arts—zither, Go, calligraphy, and painting—and I’ve also studied the tea ceremony," Wu Jingyi replied, looking at Wang Chenning with poise. "I’ve loved traditional culture since I was young and have studied Chinese culture extensively. In college, I even competed in a traditional culture exchange competition and did quite well!"
"In that case, you should accompany me on a trip to several East Asian countries in a few days. We may have some cultural exchanges then."
"Understood!" Joy was plain on Wu Jingyi’s face, but her voice remained calm. "My grandfather told me that you, Master, are not only accomplished in traditional medicine research but also have profound knowledge of traditional culture. I look forward to your guidance in the future!"
With that, she rose and gave him a graceful bow.
"From now on, you can assist Chang Qingfeng in managing our group," Wang Chenning said with a laugh. "You were in several clubs in university, so you should have some management experience."
"Thank you for your trust, Master!" Wu Jingyi said, thanking him again as a faint blush colored her lovely cheeks.
Before lunch, Wang Chenning assessed five people in total, including the previously punished Zhang Manxin and Lin Qingyan.
Zhang Manxin and Lin Qingyan’s professional expertise and overall qualities were quite good. Both were multi-talented, and Wang Chenning gave them a favorable evaluation.
During lunch, Wang Chenning received a call from Zhao Xiao’an’s mother, Luo Yaqian, who said she would come pick him up in person in a little while.
On the phone, Luo Yaqian also told Wang Chenning not to contact Zhao Xiao’an for now.
This made Wang Chenning’s heart skip a beat!
