Chapter 243: Chapter 243: I Hope That One Day, We Can Rule Here Again

At first, Li Fuzhen thought Wang Chenning was trying to seduce her. But then she considered their age difference and all the women who flocked around him, and she quickly dismissed the idea.

Wang Chenning knew Li Fuzhen would be suspicious, so he added, "It’s a professional opinion, just for your reference."

He didn’t press the topic. Instead, he had Li Fuzhen lie down so he could examine her.

Wang Chenning’s examination was completely professional, with no inappropriate movements. When he finished, he told Li Fuzhen the results.

"The results are good—better than I expected," he said. "I have to say, Sister Li, you’ve taken great care of yourself. Your physical condition is quite good, and you were very cooperative during the treatment.

"Oh, right. We’re staying in Seoul for four nights, I believe? The night before we leave, I’ll come treat you one more time. After that, we’re heading to Tokyo. If it’s convenient for you, you can come find me there for another session.

"In the future, if you want more treatments, you’ll have to come to Yandu. A session every week to ten days should be enough to maintain the effects, though shorter intervals would yield even better results. I don’t plan on returning to Seoul anytime soon, unless something special comes up."

"In that case, I’ll take a trip to Huaxia at the end of the month. I can discuss a few projects while I’m there and try to stay for a month or two. It’ll save me the trouble of flying back and forth!" Li Fuzhen said with a smile after a moment of thought. "It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Huaxia. I’ll definitely have to visit more often."

"Alright, that’s it for today’s treatment. I should be getting back." Wang Chenning glanced at the time, then at the messages on his phone. "We have an event tomorrow, and I still need to prepare for it tonight."

"Come treat me again the night before you leave Seoul," Li Fuzhen said, picking up her nightgown and slipping it on. After a moment’s thought, she did a little twirl in front of Wang Chenning. "Has my figure gotten really ugly and out of shape?"

Wang Chenning smiled. "Time is cruel to everyone; losing your shape is inevitable. But with my treatments, we can gradually sculpt it back. Who knows, it might end up even more perfect than when you were young. It’ll be like you’ve had cosmetic surgery."

"Really?" Li Fuzhen was ecstatic. "Then you have to help me get my figure back!"

Finally, she asked Wang Chenning, "What would you like in return?"

"When I need a favor, I’ll come to you, Sister Li." Wang Chenning flashed another brilliant smile. "In fact, something might come up in the next couple of days that requires your help."

Li Fuzhen smiled. "If you need help, call me anytime."

After seeing Wang Chenning out, Li Fuzhen went back into the bathroom. She took off her outer clothes and stared blankly at her reflection in the mirror for a while.

’I can’t believe it. At my age, I’m letting a young man change my life,’ she murmured, mocking herself. ’But what woman could refuse the temptation he offers? Sigh... I’ll just have to think of him as a noble benefactor who has entered my life.’

While grateful to Wang Chenning, Li Fuzhen also wondered how she could possibly repay him.

But no matter how she thought about it, she couldn’t come up with a satisfactory form of repayment. ’My body and affection aren’t worth anything anymore.’

’I’ll just have to let him ask for what he wants.’

It was around ten o’clock at night when Wang Chenning returned to The Shilla Hotel in Li Fuzhen’s car.

He sent a text to Yang Xiaofu, telling her he had just treated one of Li Fuzhen’s family members, was dead tired, and was heading back to his room to rest.

Then he sent a text to Zhao Xiao’an, asking if she wanted to go out for a walk.

"I’ve been waiting for you!" Zhao Xiao’an replied, sounding a little upset. "You didn’t just get back, did you?"

"Of course I did." Wang Chenning snapped a photo of himself in the elevator, holding his medical case, and sent it to her. "I’ll drop my stuff off and be right down. Wait for me by the entrance."

Ten minutes later, Wang Chenning found Zhao Xiao’an at the hotel entrance. She was completely disguised with a hat and a mask. He walked over, took her hand, and started walking.

Zhao Xiao’an struggled for a moment before giving in and linking her arm through his. They started walking toward the Han River.

"What took you so long?" she asked quietly.

"A treatment, plus a bit of business," Wang Chenning said with a smile. "Have you heard about the internal power struggle at Shanxing Group? Li Fuzhen and her brother, Li Zairong, are in a fierce fight."

"You’re not thinking of getting involved in their struggle, are you?" Zhao Xiao’an looked shocked.

"Maybe I can," Wang Chenning said, reaching out to pinch her cheek. "I might be able to profit from their conflict."

Zhao Xiao’an was even more surprised. "Li Fuzhen wants your help?"

"Her divorce and losing ground in the fight against her brother have left Li Fuzhen with depression and in a terrible state of mind these past few years. I gave her a prescription to help with that. I’m sure she’ll find a way to repay me. Plus, she wants to cooperate with me on some medical and health ventures, and I have no intention of turning down an offer she made herself."

"Aren’t you overreaching?" Zhao Xiao’an’s eyes flashed with astonishment again. "You’re even scheming to get involved with the Li family of South Korea!"

"It’s possible the ’eldest princess’ of the Li family had her eyes on me first; I’m just seizing the opportunity," Wang Chenning said with a laugh. "Don’t underestimate my medical skills. There’s no one else in the world who can compare. I will continue to create one miracle after another, and the value of these miracles can’t be measured in simple monetary terms."

Zhao Xiao’an’s beautiful eyes darted back and forth. "So, did you use your handsome face to charm Li Fuzhen?"

"Of course not," Wang Chenning said, shaking his head quickly. "Now, if she were ten-odd years younger, that might be a different story!"

His reward was a sharp pinch on the arm from Zhao Xiao’an.

Talking as they walked, the two soon arrived at the banks of the Han River.

"South Korea’s urban development really isn’t bad, and the scenery along the Han River is quite nice," Wang Chenning said to Zhao Xiao’an with a smile after gazing into the distance. "But the South Koreans themselves are pretty obnoxious. Same goes for the North Koreans."

"What are you trying to say?" Zhao Xiao’an asked, still clinging to his arm. "I feel like I can’t follow your train of thought at all."

"The Four Commanderies of Liaodong during the Han Dynasty, the Ungjin Commandery and the Gyerim Area Command during the Tang Dynasty... they all encompassed the very land we’re standing on. If the flag of Huaxia were still flying here today, we could say this has been our land since ancient times, and no one would have the right or authority to take it away." Wang Chenning looked at Zhao Xiao’an, his expression serious. "Our influence on this land lasted for millennia, but now it’s growing weaker and weaker. I don’t want to see that continue."

"You want to influence the Li family to ultimately influence this entire place?" Zhao Xiao’an was flabbergasted. "You’re too..."

She couldn’t finish her sentence, because Wang Chenning’s lips sealed hers.

After catching Zhao Xiao’an off guard with a kiss by the Han River and leaving her completely flustered, Wang Chenning finally released her. He put an arm around her shoulders as they stood facing the water. "I hope one day, we can be the masters of this place."

"We?" Zhao Xiao’an’s voice trembled slightly.

"Yes, we. You and I." Wang Chenning cupped Zhao Xiao’an’s face and said with a smile, "Let’s work hard, little one, for our grand, enduring enterprise."

"Okay!" Filled with a sense of grandeur from his words, Zhao Xiao’an took the initiative and gave him a kiss. "Then let’s work hard together!"
