Chapter 284: Another Handsome Tomboy

Chapter 284: Chapter 284: Another Handsome Tomboy

If Wu Ziyue hadn’t said their captain was a woman, Wang Chenning really would have mistaken this person for a man.

Her chest was flat and she was quite tall. With her angular features, thick eyebrows, and short hair, she looked every bit a man.

"Thank you!" that person politely thanked Wang Chenning. "You truly live up to your reputation as a miracle doctor. In just this short time, you’ve solved our biggest problem!"

"Let me finish up here first!" Wang Chenning said after a light handshake. "We can talk in detail in a bit."

"Alright!" the captain readily agreed.

Another hour passed as Wang Chenning provided the necessary treatment for the other injured team members.

When Wang Chenning finished the treatments, Wu Ziyue brought him a late-night snack and some fruit.

"Have something to eat. You’ve been busy for so long, you must be exhausted!" Wu Ziyue said, her face full of affection.

"Thanks!" Wang Chenning said with a smile, then asked if Wu Ziyue was hurt.

"No!" Wu Ziyue shook her head. "I was pretty lucky this time, and they didn’t let me take any risks."

"Fewer risks, more brains!" Wang Chenning said, pointing to his own head. "Never use brute force."

"I know, I know!" Wu Ziyue rolled her eyes.

Just then, their captain walked in. Wu Ziyue immediately dropped her playful expression and stepped outside.

"Thank you for your hard work," the captain said, sitting down next to Wang Chenning. "We’ll recommend you for a commendation."

"A commendation isn’t necessary. I don’t care about that stuff." Wang Chenning asked casually while eating, "What should I call you?"

"You can call me Duke of Thunder."

PFFT! Wang Chenning spat out the mouthful of milk he had just taken. "Duke of Thunder? Aren’t you a woman?"

"It’s just a codename," the captain said, looking at Wang Chenning with a deadpan expression. "Does it matter what you call me?"

"I’m not used to that title. Just tell me your name," Wang Chenning said with a chuckle. "The help I can offer you is greater than anyone else’s, so don’t worry about me."

The captain remained completely unmoved. "What did you want to talk about?" she asked in a calm voice.

"You’re the captain, but your skills are weak." After looking her up and down, Wang Chenning suddenly struck. Before she could even react, he had snatched the sidearm she kept hidden behind her back and pressed it against her forehead with lightning speed. "If I were your enemy, you’d be dead already."

Wang Chenning’s extraordinary speed made the captain’s face turn deathly pale.

This was a fearsome warrior who never panicked and didn’t know the meaning of fear, yet she was stunned by Wang Chenning’s speed.

"How did you do that?" she asked, taking a deep breath and glaring at Wang Chenning with killing intent. "Do you have a death wish?"

"I can help you improve your speed and reflexes. I can also teach you some killing techniques," Wang Chenning said with a grin. He retracted the gun, deftly disassembled it, and then quickly reassembled it.

After reassembling it, he brandished the gun at the captain. "Now I’m going to put this gun back where it was. You can get ready. Let’s see if you can stop me."

As the captain of a team, Lei Danyun’s skills were naturally very impressive. All aspects of her abilities were outstanding.

Otherwise, how could she, a woman, have earned the title "Duke of Thunder"?

Since the start of her career, Lei Danyun had faced countless powerful enemies, but she had defeated them one by one.

By now, very few people surpassed her in skill.

And those who did surpass her weren’t that much stronger in any particular area.

She had never experienced anything like today, being completely overwhelmed by Wang Chenning’s speed. She never thought it was even possible.

Deeply shaken, she snapped out of her shock and immediately prepared her defenses.

But she never expected Wang Chenning to subdue her so easily. He forced her backward until her back hit the wall. Then, with incredible speed, he pinned her hands and feet before calmly tucking the sidearm back into its holster on her lower back.

The entire process took less than twenty seconds.

In other words, if she were to fight Wang Chenning, even with ample preparation, she would only last about twenty seconds. And that’s assuming Wang Chenning wasn’t going for the kill.

After Wang Chenning placed the sidearm back on her waist and released her hands and feet, Lei Danyun began to question her life.

"How are you so fast?" The woman who never lost her composure stood before Wang Chenning, her face a mask of shock. "And how did you render me helpless?"

"Now you understand that there’s always someone better, don’t you?" Wang Chenning said, gesturing to the chair in front of him for Lei Danyun to sit.

After Lei Danyun obediently sat down, Wang Chenning said with a smile, "You should know by now that my Acupuncture Skill is formidable. From that, you can deduce that my knowledge of the human body’s acupoints is outstanding. While the pressure point techniques in wuxia novels are just the stuff of fantasy, striking certain acupoints can indeed cause all sorts of coordination problems. In fact, a heavy blow to some acupoints can even be fatal. My speed, combined with my knowledge of acupoints, means I have yet to meet an opponent whose combat skills surpass my own."

After boasting for a bit, Wang Chenning asked Lei Danyun with another grin, "Be honest with me, and maybe I can teach you a few moves. You know yourself that if I wanted to kill you, it would be effortless."

Lei Danyun’s confidence was completely shattered by Wang Chenning. After some thought, she finally told him her name and expressed her willingness to become his disciple to learn his skills.

Lei Danyun was no longer young. At thirty years old this year, she was what you’d call a "leftover woman."

’And Wang Chenning was sure no man would dare marry a woman like her.’

"Let me help you complete this mission first," Wang Chenning said, not directly answering her request to be his disciple. "Judging by your subordinates’ injuries, this mission is quite difficult. I’ll help you to avoid any unnecessary casualties. If Ling Weiguo punishes you for this, I’ll go see him personally. I don’t believe for a second he’d disrespect me!"

"Fine!" After a moment’s thought, Lei Danyun finally nodded in agreement. "I accept your help. I’ll adjust the plan immediately."

After the two discussed the content and plan for the operation, Wang Chenning gave his suggestion: "How about this: we make our move tomorrow at midnight."

"Alright!" Lei Danyun agreed, but she also hoped Wang Chenning would maintain strict secrecy and not let anyone uninvolved know about his participation in the operation.

"No problem!" Wang Chenning readily agreed, then added with a grin, "Just figure out how you’re going to thank me!"

"What do you want?" Lei Danyun’s face instantly darkened.
